I have been to Fig & Olive on 2 occasions, once during a normal day and once during restaurant week. On a regular day this place is great, good food, good service, couldn't complain. I was at restaurant week last week and I swear this place did a Jekyll and Hyde. Not only did my party feel rushed, but the waiter was also condescending. Being that we were a group of 6 in our mid 20s, the waiter must have assumed we could not afford our meal. "Sorry we're out of the cheap bottle of wine. The 2 more are available." When asked which bottle was the best he replied "The more expensive one, but that is $4 more than the other..." Good night ruined by the waiter.

I recently tried Fig & Olive after an endorsement from a friend. I thought the food was completely underwhelming. In addition to way too much olive oil in everything (our salad was literally drenched in oil), the food was mediocre at best and definitely didn't warrant its price. Having said that, it had a nice energy and vibe and decent drinks. Service was so, so. Won't go back for dinner but would consider a drink at the bar.

crostini with mushroom parm & truffle oil was to die for. will go back JUST to have that again.

salmon ceviche was very good, fresh, flavorful. next time im trying the tuna ceviche.

tuna carpaccio was out of sight, perfect, beautiful presentation as well. almonds, sesame oil, aged balsamic mm mm good!

Close proximity to our hotel prompted us to try this spot. We enjoyed the prix fixe menu - a very nice selection for appetizer, entree and dessert. The chocolate dessert alone was worth it.

For our part, we would enjoy a lot less 'atmosphere'; we were seated downstairs in a mid-aisle table which made us feel a little like the aisle row on an airplane with constant traffic back and forth. Service was good if a little overly-brisk at times. What was least enjoyable was the decibel level - everything was cranked up so of course you couldn't converse without making an effort to be heard over the din. But it appears that part of its appeal to many of the diners was that it was a place to see and be seen, and so not surprising. We're fairly laid-back as patrons and no longer care who we see or who sees us!

Great experience!
With a special Valentine goes a special dining experience in an outstanding restaurant! I am glad I picked Fig & Olive. If you like to enjoy good food, a relaxed atmosphere but trendy in the mean time, this is the place to go! They had a very interesting and original menu typical mediterranean!
As i was very happy with my dining experience, It made me even happier to see my date with a big smile on her face!
Definitely a five star highly recommended!

Just got out of dinner at Fig and Olive in Midtown.
I went there because of all the reviews on city search, and I wasn't dissapointed at all.
The Jamon and Manchgo Cheese Salad was great and the Spanish nuts in the salad made it even better.
Server was very attentive, and food came out quickly. The truffle soup was a little too oily, but the manager immediately brought me another one which was outstanding and delishious. For dessert we had the pots de creme. The server explained three different chocolates that make up this delectable item....Yum!!

Only drawback was the weather outside.....blah...

Def recommend this place for a casual dinner.

Went there with a group of friends for dinner. Service was excellent and the appitizers and salads were very good. I ordered the steak, which was $35.00. It was a good peice of meat and cooked as I ordered. My complaint is that it was drastically overpriced what it was. I expected more from a $35.00 steak. I tasted the other entrees from our group and everything was very good, however portions were on the smaller side. Overall I enjoyed my meal, but felt it was overpriced. My suggestion is give it a try and decide for yourself.

Excellent food & service! After reading the reviews on city search, I was hesitant to try Fig & Olive. I'm glad I did not pay much attention to the reviews. Definitely a great place!
