Dr. Ambrose is a great doc. He's a hand specialist.
I needed to see him a few years back because I injured my right hand at the job I use to have.
The back of my right hand basically got smashed by cases of canned goods from about 3-4 feet up and my hand was badly hurt and swollen.I had to go to the ER and though the x-rays showed no boken bones, (amazingly!) they said I most likely did damage inside the hand, probably to the nerves as well and so they gave me a recommendation to see Doctor Ambrose.
I was able to get an appt. with him for only a few days later and he was great. He is very educated in his specialty.
He did his own x-rays and tests just to be sure and it turned out I injured the nerves in the back of my hand and it was all badly bruised-even my fingers were swollen.
I am right-handed, so of course was very concerned, because this was my right hand!
He made a half-cast type thing, with a material that forms and hardens to the shape of your hand/wrist. It was like a splint, but customized for comfort and faster healing to the natural shapes and contours of the body/bones. Then he wrapped it all up with ace bandages, gave me a tube of a cream with steroids in it to apply to my hand so many times a day and told me only light-duty at work for 6 weeks, giving me a work-note for that as well.
I continued to have problems with the hand, even with light-duty and favoring the hand-it even got hit AGAIN by a full crate of bottled water at work, making it worse! lol
Upon seeing Doc Ambrose again for follow-up, he did even further testing because the hand just wasn't healing right, but again, it only showed the nerve irritation, so he was able to rule out surgery. I had to continue favoring it and soaking it, using the RX cream and doing exercises for it that he gave me to do and eventually, it got better. Its never quite been the same, but its much better than it could have been if not for Doc Ambrose and his expertise in the area of hand/hand injuries.

PROS: Kind, knowledgeable, friendly, easy to get Appt. No long waits.
CONS: None
