My daughter has been very happy at the Malvern School. We spent a lot of time looking around the area and were generally very disappointed with the day cares, in terms of space, cleanliness, teaching staff, and quality of food. I could not believe what many of the schools were providing the children, even the ones which claimed good quality meals (if you actually saw them you would be horrified). This school at least allowed us to provide the food ourselves, and the tuition is adjusted appropriately as compared to neighboring day cares. The teaching staff is very friendly. Each class has a very organized curriculum that is sent home every day. This has helped a lot in terms of communication with my daughter. We have a very good idea of what she actually did in class and we can ask her about very specific activities that they did during the day, which can be challenging with a toddler.

My son attended the Malvern School in Upper Gwynedd for a month and before I had to find him a new school. The teachers are over-whelmed and are not able to give the children the attention they deserve. I witnessed multiple children gang up on my child and telling him he was bad. They poked him with sticks and screamed at him without any intervention from the teacher. The teachers kept calling me at work to tell me my son was a problem without clear details of what the issue was. The teacher recommended daily behavioral charts, which helped, but they were not used consistently. I would be lucky to get a copy of one a week even when I asked for them. Honestly, I feel the staff uses the school as their own private day care for their own children and are not experienced or willing to try helping kids who might have difficulty adjusting.

Contrary to the above opinion, as they obviously have the facts incorrect, I have found the center, directed by Samantha Savage to be the pinnacle of success in the day care industry. This is due to one simple truth...the integrity of both the director and their staff. My children have been involved with this director for over 11 years and they have always been treated with respect and care. She is highly experienced and well respected by parents and staff. If I did not trust the center's director I would never leave my children in their care. I would stack her extensive professional experience, integrity, and her commitment to my children's health and safety up against any director any day of the week. As for Malvern as a school....the school is only as good as its staff and leadership. I have never had to give the center a second chance at anything as they have totally lived up to my family's expectations, as well as the hundreds of other families in the area. I am lucky and blessed to be involved with such a caring and loving center atmosphere with a director that is second to none.

Bad imitation of a good day care center. Unfortunately, we attended it for about a year. Director Samantha Savage is bubbly and talkative but extremely sloppy in her work. As an example, multiple times we received monthly calendars that were partially "cut off" during the conversion into Adobe - she won't even check before sending them out. Also, some of our emails to her were completely ignored. The Parent Handbook says they serve 100% fruit juice with snacks, but in fact they only give the kids tap water. The snacks themselves are tiny - for example, a 1.5oz bag of cheese-its (for a growing 5-year-old?!) - but if the child asks for seconds, they will turn the child down. Basically, the children only have one decent meal - the lunch you packed for them - during the whole entire day there. While many teachers are good, I have heard some teachers take unacceptable tone with the children. The facility can barely be called sparkling clean - they just do the minimum. Kids run around with snotty noses, but no one will wipe them. My usually healthy kids would come home sick every other week. I regret not pulling them out sooner - I guess I wanted to give this day care another chance (and another, and then another), but it went from bad to worse. Stay away.
