I read reviews of this place online before I went in hopes of garnering an appreciation of what to expect. While the online reviews were all positive, the experience was the exact opposite. At first glance the place seems quite nice with a colorful and cool ambiance but that's where the "nice" ends.

My wife and I ordered a Luciano's Caeser's salad to share as an appetizer. It was a reasonably sized salad with anchovies and freshly graded parmesean cheese, but the dressing was completely wrong. It tasted like a house Italian or some other sort of bland substitute for what should have been "Caeser" dressing ... and this was to be our first warning of what was to come.

My wife ordered the Pan Seared Sesame Tuna which turned out to be the better of the two dishes but was nothing to write home about. I ordered one of the specials, Cheese Ravioli and Steak Tips, I have never tasted a more boring, bland, plain dish in my life. I didn't get half-way through the meal before conceding and pushing it to the side in disgust. What a joke! The sauce tasted like a mixture of flour and weak beef boullion stock, the steak was tough and grisly, and the ravioli was horrendous.

I should have known that this place is nothing more than a "run of the mill" burger joint in disguise. If that's what they're going after then they should promote gourmet burgers and appetizers and leave the rest of their paltry menu behind, be honest with your customers and promote what you're good at. The prices are all reasonable but I'd rather pay more for a real meal than to pay a moderate amount for absolute garbage and quite honestly that's what you get at Luciano's. I will never go back and will never recommend this place to anyone unless they simply want to see the beautiful building and get the false sense of experiencing something neat by visiting Union Station.

Shame on the owner of Maxwell Silverman's for presenting such a pathetic product when it comes to the food after all of that hard work that he put in to to make such a aesthetically pleasing place. I doubt the "mafia" boys would have put up with this lousy cafeteria food either! Please hire an executive chef and make this right, or put a McDonald's sign out front!
