I have a beautiful cherry-wood kitchen table with six chairs, and the leather seat was peeling off due to heat exposure. I brought the chair to them, and they showed me how to take the cushions off of the chairs, and what to be careful with.

I broguth the chairs during the last week of September, and the next open slot was the week of 10/12. So, I dropped them off on Friday, 10/ 9 and got a call that they were ready for pick up on following Wednesday.

The owner and staff were extremely friendly, and not stingy in giving advice. Very very helpful, and great selection of materials!

I wish I could show the pictures of before and after here, but I don't see the functionality through CitySearch. But, trust me, the work was beaufiful!

My husband had this fabulous 50s sectional sofa he inherited from his grandparents. It was originally used in a beach house, and had been through several hurricanes, so we decided to have it recovered. When we got it back from Spruce, we knew we made the right decision- the construction of the fabric was extremely well done. We chose a fabric with a linear texture, and there is no hint of creeping or misalignment in any of the seams. We couldn't be happier!

Pros: Local, passionate, experienced

Cons: there was a waiting list, but it was worth the wait

I was amazed at the unique and stylish fabrics the girls at Spruce have! I found the perfect fabric for my dining room chairs, and they had them recovered and refinished in a matter of days. I just adore my chairs. Thank you so much, Spruce!

I took one of the classes offered at Spruce and I couldn't be more pleased. The chair I started with was so sad that you could almost hear it crying out for love and attention. The gals at Spruce instructed me in all aspects of upholstery and the chair I left with after only two days has become a focal point in my dining room. I enjoyed my experience so much, I immediately signed up for another class and I can't wait to bring home a new statement piece. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Lizzie and Amanda have truly found their calling in life and we in Austin are SO LUCKY to have them! If you are in need of re-upholstery or in need of a unique piece of furniture, look no further than Spruce. Not only do these gals have impeccable taste and amazing design sense, their craftsmanship and quality of work is absolutely second to none. I have 4 Spruce chairs in my house now and would purchase more if I had more space! I purchased a pair of spruced up chairs from their collection and then I had two of my own chairs re-upholstered. They were such a pleasure to work with. They are always so cheerful and pleasant and so patient with my constant waffling on fabric choice! They always took into consideration my own vague ideas about what I wanted to help me find the perfect fabric for my chairs. Everything they do is so professional with a very personal touch, from the way they handle the monetary transaction to the way they make you feel like you've been friends forever. I highly recommend Spruce. Every person who has ever been to my house *always* comments on the unique chairs I have and I proudly tell them about the coolest upholstery shop in town.

Spruce is an understatement in a way, while such a cute name, in that they go all out to make your furniture even more special after you pick it up than when you dropped it off. It's not just flair and special touches, it's an over-haul, and a beautiful one at that. I was really excited and overwhelmed when I picked up my great-grandmother's chair and it looked brand new, yet retained it's sense of antiquity and personality. Spruce had not only made it look beautiful, they had also found 3 layers of upholstery under the top coat, and cut samples for me to have as a memory. The gals who run this shop have poured their hearts into this business and it definitely shows. They deserve your patronage and will treat you and your furniture in true Austin style. Enjoy.
