.

I live in Sunnybrook Condominiums and have for the past 6 years. 3 years ago, the upstairs unit owners installed (without permission) tile on their outside porch. When it rained from that time on, it poured water through my electrical sockets in the ceiling of my porch, flooding my porch and kitchen. Sunnybrook did nothing about this problem. The upstairs unit owners live in Canada 6 mos of the year, and when contacted refused to let Sunnybrook into their unit to fix the problem. This is against the Condominium laws since it produced mold in my apartment, and I could do nothing to remediate the mold because the water continually poured onto my porch and kitchen floor for over 2 years and 8 mos. When I finally had to call the fire department because I received 2nd degree burns from the sparks coming from the light fixtures when the water was making contact with the electricity, the Condominium finally fixed the porch flooring upstairs. It was the first and only time they had inspected the unit's porch since this started 2 years and 8 mos ago. I wrote over 15 letter to the Board of Directors and received not one response from them. All requests in writing and calls made to the maintenance department were ignored. I have been hospitalized twice since this mold was found one month after the water intrusion. Now that the porch upstairs is fixed, I received a letter from the attorney for the condominium saying the porch was fixed and I was responsible for the enormous amount of damage done to my unit over a period of 2 years and 8 mos. I have been lied to, manipulated, and threatened by this Condominium and I have done nothing. I have even offered to pay for the repair to the porch upstairs from me, both to the Board of Directors and the people who live upstairs. I am telling you also that there is no entity at the local, state, or federal level that has any control over this type of situation. My only recourse is to hire a lawyer and sue them, the money for which I do not have. Do not come any where near this place.
