Recently I had issues with my 2001 Boxster, after having new tires installed and an oil change. The next day, every time I started my car white smoke would pour out the exhaust. The place that had changed the oil drained and replaced the oil to the correct level while I observed. No change - still smoked when first starting and while driving.

Took my car to Renn Haus, and Pete Conry quickly diagnosed the problem as ??Someone over filled the oil on the initial oil change?. They drained the oil and checked the compressing on all cylinders and found them to be way too high (235 -250) when they should have been around 180. Pete, conferred with the Porsche Guru, and was told to drain the oil over night along with the oil separator and retest the compression the next day. All was as it should be and my car now runs beautifully. The mistake of overfilling damaged the Oil Separator, and fouled the spark plugs and could have caused serious damage to the engine had it not been caught in time.

My ??Grateful Thanks? to Pete and his crew. All my future service will be at Renn Haus no matter how minor like a simple oil change

Guy, I do want to let you know how much I appreciate the results of the effort Pete and Steven put into my '73 Benz. As Pete may have told you, I brought it in for an R134 freon conversion. During the course of the conversation, I mentioned to Pete that I also had a hot starting problem that none of the internet Benz experts had any idea how to fix. My problem was that I literally could not restart it when it was hot. I tried a few things myself like a fuel pressure regulator, but no luck whatsoever. But I told Pete we'd worry about that once the AC was cold again.

Next conversation I have with Pete, he tells me that Steven had broken the distributor down and traced the problem to the trigger points. Pete then carefully walked me thru the sequence that ultimately causes the fuel injectors to flood the cylinders to bleed off the boiling fuel in the fuel rails. He also said that Pierre's father could walk him thru a rebuild that would cost a fraction of the MB replacement cost. He asked permission to proceed and of course he got it.

I can't say I'm absolutely sure we have a complete fix only because the rain has kept the car in the garage and I haven't really used that much. But the couple of times I tried a hot restart, the engine did start. As Pete explained, I may need some add'l work to smooth the remaining roughness out completely. But being able to restart it at all is a major improvement.

We'll be away for awhile and the car won't be used. But, before I left, I wanted to get a sincere 'thank you' over to your team for their initiative and for what appears to be a big improvement in hot starting. BTW the AC is cold now too!

And finally, I'm most impressed that Pete had cleaned up for me when I picked it up. That to me is an indication of a really class act.

Jeff and I picked up my car about 2 weeks ago and promptly left for a short vacation in the mountains of NC (to cool off!), so I didn't get a chance to send a thanks for the supreme service I received (and my car) from Pete....

It was all my fault that I missed the scheduled Wednesday appointment that Pete had set up to repair my seats in the Z... Some friends came in from out of state and called to play golf. Well, when someone asks me to play golf, anything else on my radar screen gets shoved aside as though it never existed! I felt terrible for missing my appointment on that Wednesday, and Pete let me bring the car in on Thursday. When Pete had more work to do on another car, I felt completely comfortable in telling him to take his time with the other car, because the work on my car was more-or-less cosmetic. But when he said he would need to keep it over the weekend, I was fine with just bringing it home and waiting for a better time. I had a lot of errands to run over the weekend to prepare for our trip.

Well, that little honey-pie named Pete came back to work and worked until the wee-hours to finish my car so I could come and pick it up and not have to reschedule. I know he has a family.... For him to take time away from his family and show such dedication to me, just a customer, really makes me know I have my car in the right hands, and that you all care about the work and the services you provide. That was a perfect example of EXACTLY WHY I DO NOT USE THE DEALERSHIP HERE IN SARASOTA!!!!!! --- The dealership here made me feel invisible, unimportant, and not valued even for the dollars I would pay..... THANK YOU, AND PETE for continuing to give me all the reasons I need to keep coming back to your Renn Haus.

I know you know I hope to not have to see you anytime soon, but I hope you know too that I will never go anywhere else should I need you all again for my little baby car.....

Would love to see you at Libby's! Let Jeff or me know when you're coming, or when you're there and we'd love to buy you a drink, dessert, or whatever and say hello.......
