Greenbrook Montessori

We look at many different schools when our son turned two and half. Greenbrook certainly stood out: clean, spacious, and bright classrooms; affordable price, and nice outdoor playground. But what matters the most to us is the people. The moment we sit down with the president, Debra and other teachers, we felt a warm connection instinctively. My son has been in school for almost a year now and tried different classes already. He moved from Age 2 class, to Age 3 class, to Half-Day program, and Full Day program. It proved our instincts were right. Teachers are so approachable, and we got to know each one of them personally. They would explain to us what my son had been doing throughout the day in details. We just received an evaluation report from Julia and Emily. They painstakingly recorded every detail of my sons progress in different development areas such as social, gross motor and fine motor and academic achievements. It is FOUR pages long! We can see it is not just some general comments, but very specific to my son including a lots of detailed examples.
My son speaks Chinese at home and knows very little English. Imagine how scary and helpless to be put in a totally strange environment with strangers speaking language he could not understand. We worried a lot before sending him off, and I still recalled that moment of desperation and sadness at separation. But within two weeks, my son changed. Little by little, he started enjoying the school. Now I have hard time to get him to go home after school! The teachers made a huge difference in my sons life because they truly care. Greenbrook feels more like family and home instead of just another place to drop off my son.
We love this school, and we love the people there! We would recommend to any friends without any hesitation!
