Accredited by the Commission on Cancer (CoC) of the American College of Surgeons, the Memorial Cancer Center provides consolidated cancer services with state-of-the-art technology in a compassionate and caring environment right here on the Gulf Coast.
If you are diagnosed with cancer, you may be referred to a medical oncologist. Your medical oncologist will explain your diagnosis, discuss treatment options, and recommend what is best in your particular case. Medical oncologists specialize in treating cancer with chemotherapy, and work as a team with your primary care doctor and other medical specialists.
Outpatient Infusion Clinic The state-of-the-art outpatient infusion clinic in the Memorial Cancer Center is designed to consider total patient comfort, with a warm and friendly staff, recliners and individual televisions. Customized chemotherapy and medications help patients remain strong enough to continue treatment and fight their cancer.
Outstanding Team of Oncologists The second floor houses an expanded cancer facility with the offices of the coast's highly respected medical oncologists - Dr. Stephanie Fussell, Dr. Olivia Hightower, Dr. P.V. Pande, Dr. Pamela Tuli, Dr. Louis M. Varner, and Dr. Allison Wall. Completing the comprehensive team of Memorial cancer-fighting physicians is the equally accomplished and well-regarded radiation oncologist, Dr. David Graham. Together these dedicated physicians lead the Memorial cancer care team.
Diagnosis and Treatment A diagnosis of cancer today comes with a strong probability of recovery. Many of the latest tools and procedures to diagnose cancer in its early stages, when it is most curable, including digital mammography and PET/CT, are here at the Memorial Cancer Center. Nearly half of all cancers treated today are cured or managed as chronic disease through surgery, radiation therapy, chemotherapy or a combination of treatments. At the Memorial Cancer Center, a wide network of highly specialized doctors, nurses, technicians and staff collectively design treatment plans to meet the individual needs of patients, as no two cancers are exactly alike. Close patient-to-staff relationships totally focus on each step of a patient's progress toward recovery.
Surgical Options Cancer surgery has been used to diagnose, treat, even help prevent cancer. A groundbreaking alternative to both conventional open surgery and traditional laparoscopy is Memorial's da Vinci® Si HD™ Robotic Surgical System. Guided by high definition 3-D magnification of the surgery site, tiny instruments remotely controlled in the skilled hands of our surgeons can be precisely maneuvered to perform intricate operations through very small incisions. Advantages include less chance of blood loss and complications, less pain, less scarring and faster healing.
