Although Animal Medical Hospital has been merged with another of VCA's clinics, my opinion of Dr. Koodrich remains the same- she is the most caring, dedicated, knowledgable, and affectionate vet that has ever treated my 7 year-old dog. Dr. Koodrich is always friendly, and always takes the time to listen to my concerns. She offers excellent advice and reccommends only what is necessary in the best interest of the animals she treats. Unfortunately, I believe that Dr. Koodrich has no control over what the hospital requires her to charge clients. I really feel that if she were allowed, she would offer many services for free. In fact, I know that she has spayed and nudered numerous cats and dogs for free in neighborhoods of low socio-economic status. I would encourage anyone seeking medical care for a loved pet to make an appointment with Dr. Koodrich, regardless of where she is working.

Negligence and poor professional behaviour has taken place at Animal Medical Hospital for some time. Koodrich has acted destructively and has brought about the untimely death of several innocent animals.

The duty of such a professional is to prolong life rather than incur destruction and unwarranted grief. Koodrich and her colleagues exhibit no professionalism and integrity and should at all times be avoided. This warning is well founded and should be extended to all those who value the health and sanctity of the lives of their pets.

I have known Dr. Bonnie Nara for a considerable period of time and know her to be both an individual of personal and professional integrity. Her summation of the neglect given by Dr. Alison Koodrich at Animal Medical Hospital at Palm Springs has been examined and evaluated and has been deemed correct. Koodrich acted dishonorably and the procedure 'attempted' concerning the innocent Maltese meant the death of the small being and the beginning of a prolonged period of mourning for her loving guardian and all those who knew the tiny, vibrant and perfect being.

Many professional animal hospitals in the 21st century now offer fine services for those who suffer loss. Bonnie Nara and her family were given no apology, sympathy and justice.

This tragic situation should act as a warning to all those considering using the services of Koodrich and this hospital. Also my investigation has revealed that this tragic situation is not an isolated account.

May those who truly love and research those who administer to their pets go elsewhere and reinforce this with friends, neighbours and family!

Dr. Koodrich is a amazing and caring VET. I have worked with her and know the amount of care she puts into each and every pet she sees. :)

I have taken three of my dogs over the past 4 and 1/2 years to Animal Medical Hospital. Our primary vet is Dr. Kunz, but Dr. Turek, Dr. Koodrich and Dr. Robetson have cared for my animals as well. I love and trust these vets and the vet techs in this office. My dogs and I have been treated as if we are the only patiants in their care. One of my dogs had kidney disease at age 14, one had allergies and the one who is currently under the care of Dr. Kunz had a splenectomy done by him on Wednesday. He did a remarkable job, she is doing really well and it was an emergency surgery. She didn't even have an appointment that day, but they squeezed her in and immediately scheduled surgery for her. Shaq is a vet tech there and when my boy was dying of renal failure 4 and 1/2 yrs ago, she was so comforting to him and me and let me sit with him for hours on end in the back room where he was kept.
How dare anyone ever say anthing bad about this Medical Hospital and the Doctors and Techs that work there. They are very dedicated, highly professional and personal and they are on the cutting edge of treatments and knowledge of the veterinary field. We have been truly blessed to have them in our times of crisis and I am very, very gratfeul to them for all they have done for my furkids and me. They give new meaning to "World Class" My thoughts and prayers go out to those of you who have lost your furbabies and I am so sorry for their passing. You will be with them again one day forever.

I was shocked when I read the comments about Dr. Koodrich. She and Dr. Kunz are by far the most caring and sensitive vets I've ever dealt with. Also, Dr. Koodrich is the most knowledgeable vet I've ever known. She has cared for our eight cats for the past four years. Three of them were elderly and presented with a multitude of problems. Dr. Koodrich improved their quality of life tremendously. When it came time to make that very difficult decision to put them to sleep, Dr. Koodrich was remarkably sensitive to what we were going through. She, along with a technician, actually stayed four hours after the hospital closed on a saturday to help us make the decision on one of our animals.

I don't know what statements like "My dog went for a teeth cleaning and died." even mean. Did he die immediately? A week later? What was the cause? And what does "something went wrong and he died" mean? I'm certain they gave some explanation.

The fact is that there is no such thing as "a simple teeth cleaning". Any time an animal or human is put under general anesthesia there is a risk of complications.

Lastly if you can't write an intelligent review of a professional service then don't write any thing. Talking repeatedly about what a "beautiful little angel" the dog was makes me think you have a few screws loose. And what the hell is the significance of the fact the dog "only weighed six pounds"? Does that make it more tragic? Get a life.

Saved Frosty's life! 15 yr old Alaskan Eskimo with kidney failure. Kunz and Bohn and professional staff saved him with agressive, fair priced treatments. Frosty looks great thanks to Penny the groomer. 5 stars from me and Frosty---on the mend

I worked for AMH for 6months in 05. Dr.Kunz was overworked and always too stressed to really pay any attention. Dr.Roberts had early stages of dementia and should not have been allowed NEAR an Animal his daughter basically ran the clinc and did an awful job at that. They overcharged clients and provided minimal service to clients. Dr.Koodrich and Turek were the only two good ones they had but when lousy techs and should be retired vets are allowed to run things the end result is suffering to the animals. They were bought out by another company after I left them and seemed to be doing better but I hear complaints regularly about the professionalism and the fees. Just make sure you follow the same rule with your pet as you do yourself... get a second opinion and use your gut instincts.

PLEASE AVOID THIS HOSPITAL AT ALL COSTS Alison Koodrich is the very worst veterinarian. My dog went for a teeth cleaning and died. Go somewhere else.

My friend recently took her beloved dog, a tiny Maltese only weighing 6 lbs to this so called hospital to have a simple teeth cleaning, only to learn several hours later that something went wrong and he died, at their hands. He was to be attended to by a vet, Alison Koodrich and also Doug Kunz who was to have been present. I feel that they were neglectful to the fact that this small, beautiful little angel, obviously had some sort of a problem with this procedure and they did not act quick enough. As an animal lover myself I am very sad to know that you take your animal to someone whom you think is knowledgeable and obviously they are not. This has had a tremendous effect on my friend and also others that loved this dear little angel. Hope any one who reads this will look in to some facts before taking your pet there.

My beautiful and beloved pet ( a 3 year, 6 pound healthy active and vital Maltese dog ) went to this hospital for a teeth cleaning and died. The person who attended to him was Alison Koodrich ( who calls herself Dr.). Also another veterinarian Doug Kunz was present. This hospital and the aforementioned people do not even deserve one star but the site mandates you give at least a one star rating. We have been devastated and heartbroken. What happened to our dog ( and us) should not happen to another human being or animal. That is why this review was written.

I took my cat for vaccines and a check up because she wasn't eating well and Dr. Kunz saw her gums a little red on both sides and immediatly said that both teeth needed to be removed, without taking x-rays. Also, I told him that she was trying to get rid of a hair ball for a few days and that didn't seem to bother him. Before I left they gave me a quote for $725 to get both teeth removed, stating that a 20% discount was included. I didn't know what else to do so I scheduled the surgery for 3 days later. In the meantime I went to get a second opinion because I had many doubts about that day and took the cat to a vet. in Palm Desert. The result: antibiotics for the gums and a treatment. No need for any extraction of her teeth. The hairball wasn't a hairball, they found out the cat is asthmatic. Basically Dr. Kunz was going to put an asthmatic cat through an innecessary surgery. I called Dr. Kunz because I always want to give people an oportunity to expain things. I was stunned by his lack of professionalism, every answer he gave me was "I'm glad you found someone you feel happier with". Not only he didn't care, he didn't even ask specifics about the other diagnosis, something that a professional would have used for other cases. I also got a quote for the same extraction of two teeth just to compare and it's $425. I hope people realize that this is a dangerous hospital and that Dr. Kunz is a terrible Doctor and go somewhere else.

Thank heavens for Animal Medical Hospital! My cat was seen by another vet a year ago with a bump on his leg. I was concerned about it and was told to watch it and not to worry that it was nothing. Well, he kept licking it till it bled! I called the other vet and was told just bandage it and watch it. It reached the point, I new it had to come off! I changed vets to Animal Medical Hospital and saw Dr. Kunz. He said that it was a tumor and that it did need to be removed and have a biopsy! I was terrified I'd loose my cat. 90% of tumors on cats are malignant! It was a long week but due to Dr. Kunz, my cat will be ok. He removed the tumor with a wide range and the biopsy came back ok and that he had removed well over the margin so I thank heavens for Dr. Kunz. Dr. Roberts is an excellent vet too! This is a small office not a large hospital that shuffles patients through like some commercial business. Small, caring vets and office personal!

PROS: Caring, Small Office. Each Patient is treated with care!
CONS: Sometimes parking
