I hadn't been to Azul for a few months and decided to stop in last week on a date with my new bo. They have a NEW drink menu with tons of fresh fruit mojitos to pick from. I had a tasty watermelon mojito and a honey mint dacari that was awesome!! The tuna tartar was really fresh and and priced just right. I've decided to make this my new dinner, and happy hour spot. I'm so glad they finally opened their kitchen and the chef really rocks and the food came out fast!! I really liked what they did with the space. The new white leather booths are perfectly stylish and comfortable.

I'm definately going to have my next birthday party at Azul.

Pros: The drinks are delicious!! Thank god they opened their own kitchen.

The place was great: great music and spacious place. The crowd was not fancy but if you are doing to dance, who cares.

I went to Azul for a party recently and I just heard about this place. I?m a native of San Francisco and I?ve been to many of the most trendy night clubs, lounges, and restaurants in the area. I?m proud to what my city has to offer when it comes to food and the night scene. Plus, I consider myself to have a pretty good taste palette. As for Azul, this is a place where you wouldn?t miss out on much, if you decided to pass on going there.

It is practically in the heart of San Francisco, a very prime location and it?s a couple of years old already. You walk in the place and see all this nice, trendy, artsy decor with some great artwork on the wall. They also have some HDTV?s up on the wall to watch sporting events. And to my surprise they had food available.

I tried the food and in my honest opinion, you?re better off eating at a hole-in-the wall joint elsewhere. The prices made sense for the location, but didn?t match the quality of the food. The chicken and shrimp egg rolls tasted really bland. The only flavor came with the sweet and sour sauce that was on the side. Were they serious about their BBQ nachos? It was like someone had the munchies and used whatever was in the fridge. The cheese looked like it was microwaved and the bbq chicken barely had any bbq flavor. And last but not least, was their flank steak. It was a very small piece of flank steak chopped up on a small scoop of mashed potatoes. I asked for medium and it came out well done.

The highlight was only the Hip-Hop DJ. The drinks seemed pretty watered down and badly mixed, especially with all the ice they stick in the plastic cups. Unfortunately the party was shut down cause of a small cat fight between two women. Plus the security was not that intimidating to begin with. Even their website is not helpful for information and seems outdated. Sorry? looks cool, but those looks are deceiving in my opinion.

This place is perfect for any after-work Happy Hour. There's drink specials and you can even bring your own food into the lounge if you're organizing the Happy Hour. (That's Azul's only downfall - no food)! The crowd after work is generally young and from the financial area, but it's a good bunch of people who like to have a drink to wind down after a long day. Definitely people that can strike up a conversation!

If you don't already know, the top floor or the room downstairs can be reserved to hold a private party or Happy Hour. Me and my friends/co-workers have held several events in Azul because of it's friendly staff and great location. It's not too hard to find unless you're speaking with people who don't know the City.

I highly suggest that you check it out and decide for yourself.

Cons: No food!

I have never been to a worse place on ever in the city. It was embarrasing to watch the bartenders and painful. I waited for a half hour to get a drink then just decided to leave when I still did not have a drink. The only pro was the fact that I got my cover charge back.

Pros: none, except that I got my cover charge back.

Cons: everything.

I had been waiting to try this place out and hear some latin jazz. I thought this place was going to be sleek and swanky. Not at all. There was hip hop playing over the speakers (which i also love), and some of the most interesting people screaming, gyrating, and drinking I've ever seen in the city -- and that REALLY says a lot.

I stayed for the worst lemon drop I ever had the misfortune of having and then when my friend asked if I wanted to leave (on a Saturday night no less), I said yes without a moment's hesitation.

Definitely not ever going back to this place.

From the moment I walked in the door I began losing cool points. The nerdiest embarcadero business types were there that friday and they were (eek!) "dancing". The dj had the music screeching past the speakers capacity and I paid for the worst margarita I've ever had. The bartenders were nice but incompetent. After 3 Beastie Boys songs in a row the dj began his downward spiral of music selection whilst the rhythm-less (putting it mildly, trust me) nerds jerked and jolted on the floor. I actually blushed with embarassment for myself and the whole experience when Vanilla Ice came over the speakers and the office-dweebs continued to flail about on the dance floor. I went outside to smoke and wait for my friends who were catching the end of the basketball game and never looked back. I WILL NEVER RETURN.

What a relief! Finally we have a classy, hip lounge right smack downtown! Great mojitos, they make 'em big here and charge the same as other nearby bars do for half the size. i can ck out the giants on the plasmas or go up on the mezzanine to shoot pool on a great table, its covered in blue felt. very cool place and great djs, top of the line sound system, i have a new hang out for after work. i hope they start a tapas menu soon, cuz then i won't have to leave to eat.

I was shopping in union sq. and saw the martini glass neon sign down campton alley and of course had to see what was there. I was really surprised, very sexy looking lounge and great pieces of art on the wall; three Roberto Mattas are on the main floor, (I asked the price, 20,000. each!) and a local brothers, mike and Jon wolf are hanging in the upper lounge area. Had a great martini, hanger one kafir lime, my local bar doesn't carry it but its the best Ive had. It was Friday night and the dj was playing what he called latin folkloric rhythms. I never heard this sound before at any place in San Francisco. Will be back again.

Not only is it very hard to find, if you're from out of town forget asking the locals- even the cab drivers. No one seemed to know where the small alley (Tillman Pl) is located. I was very much looking forward to listening to some good Latin Jazz and having a few cocktails. But band playing this Friday, was not only boring but sounded more like a bad wedding band. I was highly disappointed and left after one average drink.
