Animal shelters in the Denver metro area euthanize at least 40,000 cats, dogs, puppies, kittens and rabbits each year, simply because they were born into a world where there are not enough homes. SpayToday’s mission is to reduce pet overpopulation by preventing the births of unwanted puppies and kittens. We are determined to eliminate euthanasia as a means of controlling overpopulation of companion animals. SpayToday is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation

I am a feline foster parent for a local rescue group, which means that I bring kittens and cats in to Spay Today on a regular basis. Dr. P and her staff ALWAYS take time to check each animal carefully and all procedures are explained in detail. Every animal goes home with pain meds and post-op instructions.
Please recommend Spay Today to anyone and everyone you know who has a pet who hasn't been spayed or neutered - you won't be disappointed.

I was really worried about taking my dog here, but they did a great job. I appreciate that they are providing spay and neuter services at a reasonable price -- my regular vet quoted $450-500! I rarely write reviews, but I support what they're doing and definitely feel comfortable recommending them. They were also really nice when I called with follow-up questions.

This was my first dog that I've had neutered, and I was really nervous to say the least. I was concerned that the lower price might have meant sacrificing quality, but after reading all of the good reviews and speaking with the great staff-I felt much relieved and was extremely impressed with both the procedure and the staff. My dog was extremely scared, and I was a nervous wreck as well, but they were great with handling my son and reassuring me too. Spay Today did a great job, our 3 year old lab recovered perfectly and did not experience any pain or negative side effects. The cost includes the procedure and three days of pain medication-you cannot beat the quality or the price. We love you Spay Today!

WOW! What an awesome experience! I was afraid to leave my lil baby girl Schnoodle all day to get spayed but she did great! The staff is so wonderful & caring! They reassured she would be sedated quickly, as she was shaking with fear! Do not hesitate to support this wonderful non-profit organization!

I foster for a local dog rescue group that uses the services of Spay Today. I am adding my five-star review, without reservation. The staff are professional, competent and compassionate. The clinic is clean and well organized. There have never been any complications from the procedures I've had done here. Spay Today offers several services at very inexpensive cost, which are of great help to pet owners, particularly in this poor economy. Spay Today is a Godsend for rescues, that are so dependent on expert veterinary care provided at affordable rates. Thanks, Spay Today!

I have a 14 month old hyper chocolate lab that we took in to get neutered and micro-chipped last Friday 8/27/10. You can also get your Jeffco license there all in 1 easy stop. Very affordable, one vet I called wanted $365 JUST for the neutering!!!! They were extremely friendly and very understanding and I felt comfortable putting my "child" so to speak in their hands. It was very easy to book the appointment and they were very informative. My puppy must have sensed something was not right and he started going "#2" all over their floor- the lady was so nice and explained that some dogs get stressed out and it happens all the time. I was so embarassed but she was so nice about it. We picked him up and they fully explained everything and assured us if nothing seemed right or if we had any questions; to call them. They gave us pain medication for him for the next 3 days. Cooper is himself and is happy and heathy! I would recommend ANYONE to SpayToday!

I had my 5-month old dachshund, Sam, neutered at Spay Today and they took wonderful care of him. He had NO problems at all with the surgery and post-surgery he was fine after the first 24 hours. I will recommend Spay Today to anyone who needs this service for their animal.
SPAY TODAY IS WONDERFUL!!!!!!

Dr. Piccoli has operated on three animals so far for me and I can't say enough good things, but let me try.
Dr. Piccoli has committed herself to helping people living in poor communities. Her surgical operations and support staff are finely tuned to the needs of animals which give me peace of mind. Their handling of the animals in their care reduces the stress the little ones are under.
What brought me to Dr. Piccoli in the first place were recommendations by vet techs and other veterinarians who admire her work as a doctor.
Regards,
Debbie

My pets have been neutered by Dr. Piccoli. I couldn't be more pleased. She is an outstanding surgeon and I recommend her to everyone who has a pet!! I have volunteered with her for sometime because of her expert ability and professionalism. I have seen her do hundreds of surgeries and am always in awe of how well she does them. SpayToday is a very professional organization and I am so thankful they are doing so much good for the animals and the community.

I had the best experience having my cat altered there. When we went home I watched her all the time to make sure she was ok. And they gave me good instructions that I read and followed. I think that other guy didn't read his right. If he did he would have read that only a little licking is ok so they can clean it. Any more than that isn't ok. I know it didn't say to wait until you see excessive licking because I have the paperwork I took home right in front of me. So as long as you follow the instructions right you should have a good outcome. So I say TAKE YOUR PET THERE.

Seans complaint is not actually related to the neuter surgery-his dog was successfully neutered and pain free when he left SpayToday. However sometime between then and the next morning something happened which resulted in the incision opening and bleeding. Post-operative care is an important responsibility of the owner and dogs must be watched for licking because they can do a lot of damage to themselves in a very short period of time. Our home care instructions cover this and e-collars are available at most major pet stores.
His comments about the placement of the incision are partly correct, it is placed on the scrotum (scrotal incision), not in front of it (pre-scrotal) as has generally been taught in the past. That information is freely posted on our FAQ page under What is the surgical procedure. He is however mistaken in his statement that no one does it this waythis particular technique is practiced in hundreds of spay/neuter clinics nationwide, it is endorsed by the Association of Shelter Veterinarians and the American Veterinary Medical Association and is taught as an alternative technique at several veterinary colleges. We have been using the scrotal technique for every dog neuter here for several years and find that the surgery is easier, dogs are more comfortable post-operatively and we have fewer complications directly related to the surgery.
We are sorry Sean had a problem with his dog but no matter how the surgery is done or by whom, there is always a chance of post-operative complications.

We took the new dog we just adopted to Spay Today last Monday. We were very, very impressed with this organization. The staff was wonderful, and the office was spotless. They got us in within a few days after I called, and took very good care of our new boy. In addition, the price was phenomenal (only $70.00) compared to the $370.00 (without pain meds to take home afterwards I might add) that my current vet wanted to charge me. I would recommend them over and over again!!!

Please do not take your dog here. If you love your dog and do not like to traumatize your dog do not let spay today neuter your dog. This morning I woke up to my dog crying and I immediately went to him to see what was wrong. I noticed a lot of blood on his scrotum and an opening in it. We took him to the emergency vet and the doctor was appalled on where the incision was located. He said no one puts the incision where spay today does, the incision was on the bottom of the scrotum. If you do choose to take your dog here buy a cone before you take your dog home. So your dog does not lick the incision. Spay today told us that the majority do not lick and unless you notice excessive licking that we would not need one. Now I have to live with the horrible feeling that I let someone else hurt my dog and that I paid them to do it. DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG HERE!!!!!!!!!! WORST PLACE TO HAVE THIS OPERATION DONE. Before you take your animal here look into any facility and ask them how they neuter a dog. They will respond with a pre-scrotal incision. It is the least painful and best way. Look into any recent Veterinarian Text and it will show the pre-scrotal incision. The scrotal incision is used more commonly on farm animals. Take your time and make the right decision by taking your animal to a reputable vet. Dont make the same mistake as me.

The staff at Spay Today is professional, friendly and caring. They spayed my dog for the very reasonable price $70. At first I was nervous because they are new in the area, but as soon as I got there I felt very comfortable leaving my little girl with them. They took very good care of my dog. I would recommend them to anyone and use them again in a minute!
