We got there on Saturday night and the place was very busy. You have to order at the counter and the food will be brought to you. It's a BYO and we brought beer and had a great time till the food arrived. Well, this is the best pulled pork I ever had. Super moist and tasty in melts in your mouth. We also loved the Pork Osso Bucco that was on Special over cheese polenta - what a great dish. Loved the ribs that are hickory smoked and dry-rubbed. Place was busy but everyone was having a good time. Will most definitely return. Based on the website www.bourbonbbq it was just named the best BBQ by 201.
Pros: Great Pulled Pork, Ribs, side dishes
Cons: No table service
My wife and I ate here last weekend for the first time and most likely the last time. We didnt hear great things about the restaurant to begin with, but we decided to give it a shot since we are from Texas and really love "Good Q." I noticed when we were waiting in line that there was very little organization in the place and the staff seemed very flustered, even though it was not too busy. There didnt seem to be anyone there who was actually managing or supervising the place. We finally ordered this thing called the garbage plate (not the most appealing name) after standing in line for quite a while. Then we had to clean off a dirty table to sit at since no one who worked there seemed to concerned about having clean tables. The food finally came out about 25 minutes later. We really hoped that the wait would be worth it, not so much. The ribs were decent but the brisket and pork were both dry and flavorless, and the sausage was burnt. The sides (mac/chz,slaw) were very generic and bland, 2 stars is really pushing it for this place!
Overall: not recommended.
Pros: Parking, music, byo
Cons: Food, service, cleanliness
I felt intrigued to try out the restaurant, because I typically pass it on my way home from work. It was this past Sunday around 1 pm when myself and 2 of my friends decided to pay a visit. We walk in and were delighted to see the Giants game on the TV (GO GIANTS). We ordered a garbage plate for the three of us, we also got potato salad, cole slaw, onion rings, fries and collard greens (they also made a great lunch for monday). The ribs were great, spicy how I like them, they fell off the bone. The pulled pork was nice and juicy really moist! the sausage was good as well as the brisket.
Overall it was a great experience, it was a great family environment, and the waitstaff kept checking on us and refilling our drinks, the TV was also awesome...
Im planning a visit next Monday night for the next Giants game!
Kudo!
Pros: ambience
Cons: a little empty
