Pros: They have coleslaw with kick!

Cons: None!

Yesterday (a Monday) I had six people and a baby who were in the mood for BBQ and we knew that this place was open (or we thought it was). They list their hours as 11am to 8pm Monday to Saturday.
I called at about 5 to see if we needed a reservation. No answer - left a message (though the phone rang and rang before an answer message picked up). Nobody called back.
We got there at 7 and they were closed. The hours in the window said they should be open but there was no-one there, all dark and the tables still dirty from the night before (presumably).
So we went to another BBQ place.
What gives? I still haven't received a phone call and I would think an apology, if they want us to come back next time, would be in order.
The impression I'm left with, and it's a first impression of course, is that they don't care abut their customers, or potential customers and don't do what they say they will - since they themselves say they're open.
Very unlikely that we'll go back.
No idea, of course, what the food is like. Maybe they have closed for business already?

Pros: There are plenty of other places to eat in Portland

Cons: Extremely difficult to taste the food

WOW!! This is, without a doubt, the best platter of ribs in Portland. I had the mac-n-cheese side and greens, both of which were equally heavenly. My plate was among many that went back to the kitchen as clean as though it had come from the dishwasher. The portions were generous and the prices quite reasonable and competitive. Given the taste, I easily would have paid a dollar or two more for the pleasure of eating there. The restaurant is family-owned and the owners clearly place quality and customer satisfaction at the top of their priority list. You can dine-in or take it home with you. If you are having a party, they even offer catering. They also have a wonderful array of desserts, which I didn't partake of on this visit, but certainly plan to go back for in the very near future. All in all, the owners have created a simple, warm and inviting atmosphere that truly succeeds in feeding your soul.
