We fell in love with Estragon the first time we went (when they first opened) and it is still our favorite spot. We bring friends in large and small groups--great dishes for trying new things and sharing. Drinks (Sangria especially) are delicious and creative. The owners and staff are always friendly and the service is always great...it's a tapas place, don't expect to be rushed through courses...you're supposed to relax and enjoy.

This was one of the best dining experiences I've had in Boston...ever. (and I'm from here!) The food was great, the wait staff was helpful, the drinks were tasty and the fun, relaxing vibe of the restaurant only added to the experience.
note: it's not fair for people to complain this place was pricey. The prices are posted on the menu. If you choose to go to a place like this, you know what you will be spending. It's up to the restaurant to provide quality food to live up to those prices. Estragon did that!

Need a place to go tonight? Crawl out of your shell and head to the South End and bring your appetite because you will be eating at Estragon. Service caters to your personal dining experience and with tapas choice are plentiful and diverse for all tastes. The sangria is a must drink and will help loosen your mood for the start to an evening that does not involve your couch and on-demand movies. Price is mid-range for Boston and worth donning a dress and hot sandals - or for the men out there one of your dressier shirts please.

Pros: service, quality, and expansive menu

Cons: can be slightly hard to find

Excellent tapas but on the pricey side. I think the sangria might have been a little watered down when I went as well.

This spot hidden in the heart of the South End is an awesome tapas experience. With a really cool ambience thats dimly lit and chic is a great place for a date or to meet up with friends. One part of the restaurant is more open and has couches and coffee table the enable a casual experience whereas the other tables and seats give a more formal feel. Cocktails and wine are done well here, along with a delicious selection of tapas, all reasonably priced. That extra walk from the Orange line is definitely worth it.
