It's like stepping into Tokyo. Which means, the menu is a departure from what we're used to and all well-worth trying. Mmm fish balls. Also, the atmosphere is really modern and I like it's a bit of a transporting experience.\r

Super fun in a cool space. If you're looking for something different and want to try new flavors in food and drink, this is as good as it gets! Great drinks and super creative menu that integrates flavors from all over Asia.

We went to Ping, and enjoyed our meal. We had several different things, and, except for the kobe beef skewers, they were all quite tasty. If you're looking for something interesting, I can definitely recommend the tea egg.

So, why am I

I've heard nothing but raves about Pok Pok, but haven't had the chance to try it yet. After having Ping, Pok Pok's sister restaurant, I'm not sure I care. Ping is everything you should hope for in a restaurant: upbeat and upscale, with a sultry dining area, excellent service and absolutely delicious food. A couple of dishes stand out in my mind: a refreshing cucumber, sesame seed salad with a vinegar dressing, satay chicken kabobs, delicate pork buns, and for dessert, a delicious (if not deliciously named) Sawdust pudding, that had a consistency that was certainly lighter and fluffier than any pudding I've ever had. The only cons that spring to mind are finding parking in Chinatown and the sight of the bill when you're done.

Cons: Parking, price

This is Pok Pok's sister restaurant with Vietnamese and other Asian bar food. Small skewers of hot octopus are divine along with the "carrot cake" and their soups. You can do no wrong at this cool spot.

Ping is a mecca for cutting-edge street food from Singapore, Malaysia, China and Thailand. The restaurant serves a wide array of proteins on sticks: gulf prawn, baby octopus, boar, shishito chili or quail egg. Complement the meal with one…
