Brought some clothing here, and when my time was up to collect money, she had only sold 2 items and she would not return my clothes that didn't sell even though they were STILL hanging in her shop, she argued with me that MY clothing now belonged to her. What a scam! This woman bills herself as a "Christian" but doesn't practice what she preaches, stay away.

I feel compelled to write this review, as I agree with the other ladies reviews from here, and poodlehappy"s review had me laughing. Now my 2 cents.
I have been shopping at the OTHER plus size resale store in Waterbury named "Goddess plus size consignment," since they opened, and always marvelled at how great an idea it was. I have been delighted with my purchases , and in fact almost my entire wardrobe has been from Goddess.
Awhile ago I got an email from another store opening in Prospect which also specialized in 14+ size. This was interesting as previously there weren't any plus size resale stores in Connecticut and now here are 2 very close together within the state, isn't that strange? In addition how did this e-mailer know that me?
When I saw the name "Aura" it clicked that this was the woman who used to work at Goddess. When she was there I tried to avoid her as much as possible, as she was IMO trying to sell me clothes that were not my style, and was very vocal about her religious beliefs, which was a turn off.
Even when I knew this I decided to visit her new store. She greeted me and told me how happy she was that I found her .
I asked her how she came to open the SAME type of store as the one in which she had worked, she avoided my eyes and told me that God had told her it was time to move on. oh boy here we go I thought.
So I guess God told her to copy another stores original theme and marketing !?! How Godly can that be?
Another shopper at the time overheard my conversation and commented as she left that she felt bad vibes in this store. I agreed
As far as clothes there wasn't any that even appealed to me as far as I am concerned so I left., and won't ever shop there again.

I decided to do an internet search for consignment shops since I loved shopping them in the mid-west. I am appalled by your site for many reasons. 1st of all I am looking for a woman??s clothing consignment shop. Although your shop came up in the search I am concerned as to what you actually sell. You have put so much emphasis on Garden Repellants, personal hygiene products and god I am not sure if your competitor is the home improvement stores, the local pharmacy or churches. I am a 30 something year old woman who wants nice clothing at an affordable price but by looking at your website I feel as if I would be walking into the ??senior woman??s luncheon club? at a missionary. There are also many people out there whose religious beliefs are not with Jesus. Did it ever occur to you that it is in poor business taste to promote a ??clothing business? with religion? And that some people might take offense to it? I for one would not be comfortable buying clothes knowing that Jesus is being brought up constantly during my excursion. Or is it your intention to only have Jesus followers shop in your store? There is a picture on the page with your soap of a woman holding a handbag who looks angry and forced while the other woman looks like she is the cat who ate a mouse. It??s kind of creepy. The picture also shows electrical wiring hanging above the doorway which I can not imagine is too safe as well as approximately 10 empty hanger??s hanging on a cork board with very little things. Is it me or have you just opened and you need to get more merchandise in? The picture with the soap?.did you even know that the soap is upside down? There is a picture of a kind faced woman who is in blue sweat pants and your caption is ??Very Regal?. How are sweats regal? You have the dates on the bottom right hand corner of your pictures from the 1st quarter of the year?.did you ever hear of cropping? Most of the woman have their eyes closed in the photos?.are they afraid to see where they ended up? And as a younger woman to see you advertise that ??This is where I end up after partying at the brick house? (and the model and I use that term loosely?.appears to be in her late 60??s early 70??s) just reinforces the ??senior woman??s luncheon club at church?. Also what??s with the RED HATS? Again do you just not want non Jesus following women between the ages of 25 and 45 shopping in your ??senior store?? Whoever designed your website took you for a ride. It is in my opinion very unprofessional and they did not take the time to ??get to know their client? prior to building it. And if they did and this is the end result that you are looking for it is making me question what else you and your ??ladies? do with out thinking. It is also quite unprofessional to make a ??big screen production? of who designed your website. Go to any other clothing website and see if they tell you who designed it. I bet Calvin Klein, Abercrombie and Fitch or Layne Bryant are not thanking their granddaughters. You did not win an award; you are trying to run a business. You also claim that you are part of a better package now?..if that is true I can not even imagine how unprofessional and pathetic your former place was. Take a look at what your competitors are doing. You might learn from them the art of business, how not to offend customer??s prior to them coming through your doors. Also note that none of them push their religions down their customer??s throats. I am sorry for being harsh but I can not believe that no-one had the kindness to set you straight and keep you from continuous embarrassment.

I heard about this place from a friend but didn't realize until I entered the shop that woman who started it used to work at another plus size consignment store in Waterbury. I didn't care for this lady when she worked there, and in fact quit shopping there because she was too pushy and just weird.
It seems now that she has her own store, which is a poor imitation of her former one. I again felt pressured and followed around.
I will say that the store was clean, and the prices were outrageous. You can buy new clothing for what the prices that were marked. Good news though, now I can go back to Goddess Consignment..
