My first time eating Ethiopian and I'll definitely be back. Much like Indian but bread is less filling so you can eat more of the veg & meats. Food was fresh and tasty and spiced well. Cheerful, pleasant owner and helpful waitstaff are on hand to help with ordering if you need it. Unfortunately the location is a bit tucked away but it's not far off Quebec and close to Colfax and Lowry so it's easy to get to. They're open late which means you can eat here after the movies or a game or going out -- so much better than grabbing fast food!

Had another great meal and very enjoyable experience at Mesob last night. I'm new to Ethiopian food, so can't compare to other places like it, but it's delicious food and a fun cultural experience too. It reminds me of eating Indian, particularly like the Indian ?Thali? with several flavors and textures on one plate. In both, you can eat with your hands using the ample portions of bread that come with the dish. The vegetable dish arrived with about six different flavors in one. Healthy and delicious

Mesob has a long bar and is even a good place to have a cold beer. I've enjoyed their Ethiopian recommendations, and they have domestic brew as well. They stay open late so we?ve even got the hockey team to stop in after the game for beers and a substantial post-game bite.

The experience is really special because of the people too. Introduce yourself to the owner, "Lete" is her nickname, and she will remember you each time you come in. Very warm, genuine, and personable. That's a rare find. I?ve been there just three times now and each time I feel like we've just had dinner with a friend.

This place is so close to everything and yet just off the beaten path enough that people don't bump into it. I live at Lowry and anyone who lives here can practically walk to it. It's at 11th & Syracuse, just north of Quebec. This is such a pleasant and culturally interesting alternative to the chain restaurants in the neighborhood, I really hope people go and experience it.

Portions are generous and I always take home some great leftovers! While sitting there last night, my wife and I were making a list of all the people we want to bring there to share the experience.

Pros: Tasty food. Cultural experience. Service is friendly. Meet the owner!

Cons: Might ask them to turn the lights up a bit.

Depending on what you are looking for - Mesob - has a lot to offer. Besides the genuine people that are inside, the food is very consistent & very healthy - not mention GOOD. It's not polished on the inside or outside, just warm-hearted people & good food (something harder and harder to find in this area).
