La Fonda del Gusto

i happen to stop in this rustic mexican restaurant expecting a classic mexican fair, but what i got was an innovative and creative mexi-french fusion! from the suculent duck tocos to the crab and shrip stuffed pomblano pepper roasted in banna leaves, la fonda puts an impressive spin on your typical mexican dishes but retains the traditional ingredients that make mexican food so delicious! i say french because the head ched has a backgound in french cuisine...and it surly shows! each dish is accompanied by a home-made sauce that not only complements the meal, but adds a flavor unmatched by your average hot sauce! i truly recomend this flavorful addition to wicker park!
