I had gone to Mountain View when I had my son three years ago and loved every minute of it, they were kind and just amazing people. So when I broke my foot I immediately chose to go back. WHAT A MISTAKE!! I had high hopes when I first arrived, the front office staff was very friendly and very funny but that's where the enjoyment ended. I sat in the waiting room for about an hour before being taken back for xrays. When I got my xrays they were taking them of my ankle! I told the xray technician that it was my foot and not my ankle but she did not listen and she told me she had to do what was ordered. I was then sent back to the waiting room where I sat another 4 hours. Finally I got called back to the ER where I was given a bed in the hallway! There were people everywhere and it was not clean AT ALL. THERE WAS BLOOD ON THE FLOOR!!! And I swear my bedding was not clean. Another 3 hours go by and the doctor finally shows up only to confirm what I had already said, THE WRONG XRAYS WERE TAKEN! Another hour wait for the portable xray machine then another two hours for the doctor to come back to confirm my own diagnosis of a broken foot. I was then handed a pair of crutches (NOTHING ELSE, NO CAST OR ANYTHING) and sent to the discharge room. This is where I was told I had to pay for both sets of xrays, even though I told the technician not to take them!!!
So if you're having a baby I would highly recommend this place but that's it. Avoid it for any other reason, you're better off on your own!!!!

I find the rooms to be not clean. Some staff are disrespectful. A male staff in emergency room was cursing in front of people and children a patient who was doing the same to him only because she was in severe pain and they were very cold towards her. I took my husband there, he was extremely ill, we had to wait in emergency waiting area 4 houirs before he was seen. Once in the emergency room to be seen we had to wait another 6 hours before they had a bed for him. All this stress gave him a heart attack. Four months later he has not been able to return home still very ill and I put some of the blame on Mountain View. He was rushed from rehab 2 weeks ago and this time taken to Centennial Hills Hospital, what a difference, he was given the best of care and that hospital is extremely clean. At Mountain View you see patients outside in their gowns, some dragging their IVs behind them smoking. I didnt see this at Centennial. I think this practice is very dangerous for bringing germs back into the hospital. I wwill never use Mountain View again, Centennial Hills from now on.

With 4 boys and a daughter, we have had to utilize the emergency room and hospital on several occasions. We found that the emergency room, triage, and staff did try to keep us informed, and tried to be pleasant and helpful.

There is an effort to differentiate between severity of incoming patients, and handle the most serious first... which left us waiting for quite awhile once.

My only concern though is on one occasion my wife had to be taken to a hospital by ambulance and Mountainview wasn't accepting any incoming patients. So, we had to be diverted to another hospital.

PROS: Staff, cleanliness, compassion
CONS: Acceptance policy, maybe?

I was recently a patient at mountain view, giving birth to a beautiful baby boy. Overall, the staff is very friendly although there are a few bad apples. We all know that unfortunately, some people enter the medical field for the money when they really don't have any bedside manners or compassion for the people in their care. I'm sure this is the case for all hospitals so I can't hold that against them. I had an emergency c-section and to my shock, the epidural didn't work in spots so I felt the cut! They took care of that problem immediately of course and still delivered my baby quickly to avoid any further problems. Afterwards, they made my 3 day stay as pleasant as possible by giving me my pain medication right on time when I needed it, offering help for breastfeeding, and taking superb care of my newborn. That's all I needed.

I was at an Albertsons on a Monday morning with my daughter and she was palying around so I placed her inside the basket. She leaned over and feel hitting her head on the wall and almost wanting to pass out. I ran to this hospital crying for help. When I arrived i had a paramedic right away rush to assist me. I went into the emergency room and they right away took me in. I waited maybe about ten minutes total in the waiting room. They were very fast and efficient. I love the waiting area they have in the front of the hospital with couches and a food stand that serves coffee and snacks. Well I was in there for maybe a total of an hour and a half which is good for emergency rooms now and days.

I found the hospital to be very clean and quiet. Although they did not have a prenatal unit, I wanted to deliver my baby here because all the other Las Vegas hospitals are too old and noisy for my tastes. They did not have restrictive visiting hours and they also provided my husband with a fold out sleeper. It wasn't a comfortable sleeper, but at least he could lay down. I found the staff to be friendly and helpful. I also love that they take your babies picture and your friends and family can go the their website to pull up the photo. Parking is convenient, well lit, and not a far walk.

This place is clean but the employees are not that friendly for working in a hospital setting the emergency room always has along wait at least 3 hours or more compared to other hospitals only being 2 hour wait.

My stay at this particular hospital was a very good experience. The maternity nurses always make sure that you are comfortable and well taken care of through the duration of your stay. I did come across 1 grumpy nurse but I guess every dog has its day!

MY HUSBAND GOT STUNG BY A SCORPIAN SO WE DROVE OUT TO MOUNTAINVIEW HOSPITAL EMERGENCY ROOM AS IT WAS ON A SUNDAY & OUR DOCTOR WAS NOT AVALIABLE. IT WAS OUR FIRST TIME THERE. WE FOUND THE E.R TO BE VERY MODERN AND APPEALING WITHOUT LOOKING LIKE THE OLD STERILE HOSPITALS. THERE WERE ALOT OF WINDOWS WITH BEAUTIFUL VIEWS OF THE MOUNTAINS. WE WERE CHECKED-IN FAST AND GREETED BY FRIENDLY EMPLOYEE'S. THERE WAS AMPLE BOOKS TO READ & A GIFT SHOP NEARBY WHERE YOU COULD BUY DRINKS & SNACKS IF YOU WANTED. THEY IMMEDIATLEY GAVE MY HUSBAND A COLD COMPRESS TO PUT ON THE STING & THEY ELEVATED HIS LEG. THEY OFFERED HIM PAIN MEDS WHILE WAITING TO SEE THE DOCTOR. OUR WAIT WAS NOT REAL, REAL LONG BUT IT WAS PROBABLY 40 MINS..SHORT CONSIDERING I HAD WAITED OVER 5 HOURS IN THE E.R. AT UMC ONCE. PLUS THE WAIT WAS PLEASANT AS I HAD SAID THE VIEWS WERE BEAUTIFUL, THEY HAD A T.V. ON & THERE WAS PLENTY TO READ. THE DOCTOR THAT TREATED MY HUSBAND WAS VERY PROFESSIONAL. HE GAVE MY HUSBAND A TETENUS SHOT AND CLEANED THE AREA OF THE STING, PUT ANTISEPTIC ON THE STING & WRAPPED UP THE EFFECTED AREA AND SENT HIM HOME W/ PAIN MEDS. WE WERE IN & OUT IN LESS THAN 1 AND A HALF HOURS. WE RELLY DO RECOMMEND THIS E.R. IF YOU WANT TO DRIVE THAT FAR..FOR US IT WAS WORTH IT.

PROS: FAST, FRIENDLY, PROFESSIONAL, CARING STAFF
CONS: NO CONS AT ALL

I have taken my son here for emergencies I am not impressed with the ER. But my son was also delivered here and the nurses are great. Very supportive, my particular nurse was Maggie and she made me feel so good. I was so nervous as this was my first birth experience. The rooms are all private rooms which I like and they are nice with a place for everyone to sit. I would choose this hospital again.

I found the staff in both the ER and floor nurses to be top notch. They attended to my husbands needs without complaint and in a professional manner. Our wait in the ER was very little.

I had to be admitted to this hosptal last week for 3 days. Allthough I did have a 12 hour stay in the emergency room before they were able to find a regular room for me I had a great stay (with the exception on one nurse) The food was great, they call it Room Service. the meals are served by people dressed in tuxedos and if you do not call for your meals, you are called in your room by phone to find out what you would like to eat. What a joy. There is a menu to choose from and if you are on a special diet they help you make the appropiate choices.

I have to use this clinic because of our insurance. I hate this clinic. For pregnant women who wants to make appointment to see an obgyn, they have to make their appointments at least 2 month in advance. I went there couple of times, because I'm a new patient, they asked me to file paperwork, so I did. The next week they asked me to file the same paperwork. I asked them why, because it is the same paperwork, it is so silly that I have to fill it twice. They said that the first time was for central office and this time for this office. Well why don't you make a copy of the first one then?????? On top of that I have to wait almost 2 hours to see the doctor!!!
