It seems to me that the person who lost their dog to the pool accident needed to blame someone for their tradegy! SJVH is the best animal hospital in all of Fresno! Look at all the rave reviews from others than the tradegy that fell on that poor family! I trust no one else but SJVH!!!

I have not had good luck at all at this hospital. The staff is arogant and a tad rude and they are very high priced. They wouldn't even let us hold our cat or dog when we had to put them to sleep. I will not ever go there again.

Such a caring vet! Dr. Alfaro helped me care for my aging cat through old age and kidney failure. Dr. Alfaro helped me make sure my cat had good quality of life which meant she was pain-free and happy. When we couldn't make that happen anymore Dr. Alfaro helped Igor make that transition across the Rainbow Bridge with peace and dignity and support for me as well.

Still awesome after five more years together. I highly recommend San Joaquin Vet Hospital for their outstanding care of both pets and their humans. Dr. Stocks and Dr. Alfaro and the entire staff are very knowledgeable, friendly and caring. Vets and staff alike take time to get to know you and your pet, and make a careful assessment of both the pet's condition and needs. They have cared for my several pets (and me) through some tough illnesses and injuries; all cases they were compassional and honest, making recommendations for treatment based on the best interests of the animal. Whenever possible they offer alternatives so the "pet parents" can make informed decisions. My pets and I look forward to our well-care visits and even those pesky shots are easier for my fur kids to handle because of the friendliness and knowledge of the staff.

San Joaquin Veterinary Hospital. It upsets me just to see their name. We had a loving little dog we saved from the dog shelter. She was 17 and in her last year she got hard of hearing and her sight was going also. She would get disoriented. She couldn't figure out how to go around objects. It was sad to see her go down hill. Everyone told us we needed to put her down because she looked so bad and had a difficult time getting around. But, we loved her so much we couldn't make that decision. I was looking for a professional to say, "this is the humane thing to do". So we took her to our vet, San Joaquin, thinking that the he would see how bad she was and hear my concerns about her health. I didn't know if she was in pain or if she might get out (it happens) and not know how to get back home or get hit by a car or whatever. My teenage daughter and I were belittled and made to feel as though we were the worst people in the world for even thinking of putting her down. We left and sat in the car crying and feeling horrible. We loved our dog. She was part of out family. In my head I knew she needed to be put down but my heart ached and I couldn't do it without the help of a professional. Well, within 2 weeks from the visit I went to let her out and couldn't find her. I searched every inch of the house, then searched the yard (1/3 acre) and the front street. I was yelling so loud ,clapping and whistling that I woke my daughter and in a panic her fear of water made her run straight to the pool. Our sweet puppy had fallen in (she never went by the pool, she didn't like the water, I think it was because she was confused where she was). My daughters screams wake the rest of the house and my husband and son came running. Dad took that limp body from the pool and my daughter passed out almost falling in as well. This tragic event was more than we could take and didn't need to have happened and I blame my self first and then the doctor at San Joaquin. I know this is our story and to much detail but, I share it with you so that you will go with what you think is right for your beloved pet. NO ONE knows your pet like you. You live with them. You love and care for them. In my opinion I feel like the vet did not listen to me and did not take my dogs health serious. It breaks my heart to think of our doggy fighting for her life and the struggle that she had to put up. I sent a letter to them expressing how I hope that in the future they listen to their clients. No one wants to put their pet down when they have had them for 17 years. It's a heart breaking decision they need to help with. I would have rather had her put to sleep than to know she had to have had such a tragic ending. Needless to say, I never got a response from the vet. That was over a year ago. We added two new puppies that are helping fill the void in our heart. We take them to PALM BLUFF VETERINARY HOSPITAL, to see Dr. Shahbazian and can't say enough about how much we like him and the staff.

When I took my two puppies in for their shots, the staff was very helpful and good with my dogs. They made both of them (and me!) feel very comfortable.
I would recommend San Joaquin Vet to my friends.
