I can't say enough about North Country Animal Hospital. When my cat suffered a slipped disc in her back they were incredible with both her and I. Their rates aren't exorbitant like some veterinary offices, and they even allow you to make

They are very competent and good vets with a friendly and helpful staff. The facility is clean and professional. We have been bringing our dogs and cats to them for 10 years for surgery etc. If you call in an emergency they will get right back to you....Their fees are very reasonable when compared to other vets offices.

They give excellent care. I have been taking my dogs here for years. I highly recommend them. They just hired another Vet so you can get your pet seen more quickly for routine care. If you have an emergency you can be seen right away.

Just to comment about a review that was previously posted...i was in the clinic when you were there speaking to the dr about your pup. i understand that you were upset and irrate but you need to realize that the clinic is a busy place. the doctors are very busy and they really DO care about the animals that come thru those doors. you were very rude to the doctor and she did politly apologize for not calling you and respected your dispute but she took care of your animal. the doctors there are very caring and wonderful people to be around. i hope that you can see beyond your attitude and see for yourself. To doctors and staff i apologize to you for what went on that day and will tell you that there are kind people out there that appreciate all that you do for their animals. THANK YOU

Pros: Wonderful greetings from receptionist when you walk through the door, excellent service and great doctors

We have been taking our dog here for 3 years and have been very satisfied with the service and manor of the employees. They understand that a pet is more than an animal, but a member of the family. Whether it was for a regular check up or an emergency visit, they have always done a great job of getting us in to a doctor in a timely fashion, and have always kept us informed of everything that is going on with our pets. We couldn't ask for a better vet.

Pros: Caring, compasionate, honest, and not too expensive either.

Cons: Some times you may have to wait a couple weeks for an appointment

My puppy was there overnight for surgery and when we picked her up, she was starving and her bladder and bowels were full and she was scared. We had to drop her off again for surgery to stay overnight, and they cancelled the surgery within the first hour she was there and didn't call and tell us. She stayed there 36 hours while no one called us. We tried calling 2 or 3 times and couldn't get through as their phone is always busy but didn't think much of it and planned on picking her up after 1:00 the next day. Called the next day to make sure we were good to pick her up to find out she didn't have the second surgery and no one thought to call and let us know about the change, and she was there for 36 hours in a kennel for no reason. And once again, she was shaking, starving, bower and bladder full. Attempting to speak to the vet and the staff went horribly. The vet was rude and told me to take my business elsewhere, the staff denied talking to me and also lied about what they told my husband (which I admitted was probably a misunderstanding except the staff member tried to cover up and lie about the vague/inaccurate info she gave my husband).

I work in customer service and this was extremely unsatisfactory. Never have I seen such poor customer service. Previous to this incident, I thought they were just "ok" and was a bit perturbed by the fact that no one on the staff could get my dog's gender right. They always screwed up her name and called her a him, every time, no fail, to which I always politely corrected the same staff members over and over.

Avoid them if at all possible. Take your business to the Presque Isle animal hospital, which is what we are going to do. Oh, and if any vets out there read this and a puppy hasn't been picked up 36 hours after it was supposed to, do the common sense thing and CALL the owner, and then call animal control because you've got an abandoned puppy at that point.

Pros: Nearby my house

Cons: bad service, can't reach anyone on phone, vet is rude

.

Canceled my dogs surgery soon after we brought her (she was supposed to stay overnight) and didn't deem it important enough to call us and let us know that. She stayed there 36 hours, hungry and needing the bathroom, for nothing. Staff and vet were rude and denied any wrongdoing. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Dr. McQuade saved my cat! I had an old cat that had tooth problems. One day she quit eating and drinking, so I got her into see the vet. Dr. McQuade realized it was more than the tooth problem, and correctly diagnosed and treated the additional problem, a huge abcess on the other end that needed draining and suturing. By the next day my cat was remarkably better....and is back to her usual self. With her age, the abcess, her not even drinking (I had to force feed her), she very well could have died, but now she has a new lease on life. THANK YOU Dr. McQuade. I would've recommended her before this incident. She is very competent, honest, and frugal. She truly cares about animals and it shows.
