We bought a computer from Atman this March at their recommendation. It has an one-year warranty. 7 months later the computer appeared to have no power and stopped running. We went to Atman with our receipt. A gentleman called Michael told us he found water damage in the computer. It would cost $95 to repair it and would not be covered by warranty.
We have no children, no pets. The computer is always placed at our reading room not near any water source. We have never had any incident that any water could possibly spilled to the computer. I challenged Michael with the question how that could happen if it was not the quality problem of the computer itself. He could not give any explaination except saying we simply had to pay for the repair. When I was on the phone to discuss about the situation Michael tried to cut me off by saying he had other customers.
Atman sells unreliable computer structured from recycled components. They provide one year warranty. But if something went wrong. They find ridiculous reasons to put the blame on you so you have to pay for the repair out of your pocket.
Atman - unreliable. Do not buy their computer. Do not do business with them. I rated one star to them because I have to click one to publish the review. Otherwise, my rating would be 'ZERO'.

I get my laptop back, there was a problem with the screen, it was too dim, that was all. I take it home after the repair is completed and I've paid $150 for their work already. The computer now works, no dim screen, but when I unplug it from the wall, it turns off immediately. I recently went to sell the laptop and I discovered the price of a battery and the cause of my problem. The resale of these batteries is very high, about half the value of my old klunker laptop. I open up my battery to have a look, it has no barcode on it, it is not the original I purchased with my computer. They stole my battery and sold it online, and charged me $150. Must be a very profitable business Atman is running.

The service is excellent and he trys to be helpful and save you money.
I have a hard time understanding his English, but there is no other place
I would go to for computer help. I feel that they really care about their
customers and that goes a long way.

This place is in my hood, so it is where i usually go for the odd computer gizmo that i find i need in a pinch. And for that, they are great. The prices aren't the best, but thats what you pay for convenience I suppose. An IDIE to PCMCIA adapter: $12. One can of air duster: $9.
That said, they have the odds and ends I am looking for when I need them, and for that, I am greateful. Much better than a Best Buy/Circuit City/Radio Shack, in my humble opinion.
One thing that is interesting is that they will barter to a certain extent. They seem to set the price on the spot, so try negotiating.

Pros: Lots of junk you just may need!

Cons: The prices are high, and sometimes seem to be set at the moment of sale.

I think the prices are fair and the advice and service are much better than average. I am a loyal customer and appreciate the effort these guys provide with every visit.
