I rarely write reviews on this kind of site, but my experience has been so dramatically different I thought I should post something. Of the car services based closest to Union St. & 7th Ave., Prospect (formerly Brownstone) is the only one

I used to use Prospect to travel to and from the airport, but I was recently terribly overcharged on a trip to Newark. We made one extra stop on the way (literally, the driver just pulled over to the side of the road) and the driver added $15 to the bill! When I called the manager to complain as a loyal customer, I was treated rudely. I'm never using them again. There are other, more reliable car services out there that will actually treat their customers with respect!

I used to use Prospect to travel to and from the airport, but I was recently terribly overcharged on a trip to Newark. When I called the manager to complain as a loyal customer, I was treated rudely. I'm never using them again. There are other, more reliable car services out there that will actually treat their customers with respect!

Like a fool, I used this service for about a year. Some of my experiences:

-they would hang up on me before I was done talking while trying to order a car
-drivers would get angry at me, yell at me, slam my bag into the car if I left my apartment 10 minutes later than what I had said on the phone
-I travel quite a bit between Boston and New York for work, so I'm always flying on the Delta shuttle. Twice, their drivers were dispatched to the wrong terminal (the Delta shuttle arrives at the Marine Terminal at La Guardia) even when I made it very clear I was arriving at the Marine Tunnel.
-Once, when there was snow in Boston, but the flight wasn't delayed, the driver was over 45 minutes late getting to La Guardia. When I called the dispatcher upon arrival, he said that the driver would be there in 5 minutes. When he hadn't arrived after 20 minutes, I called again, only to be put on hold twice, get a different person entirely, and be told that my flight was "delayed." When I said that the flight was on time, they said that the Delta website claimed the flight was delayed. I replied then that everybody else on my flight had been picked up on time by the other car services. The dispatcher then told me point blank, to use another car service then.

Probably one of the worst services around in the States. Really don't know why I stuck around with them for so long. Quite a few of their drivers are very nice though, I think it's just poorly managed, understaffed, and they have some terrible employees who shouldn't be working there.

Their coupon appeared in my mailbox, yet when we called for a car they were INCREDIBLY rude and said, "We don't have cabs in that area," and they HUNG UP.

Um... Isn't this a CAR SERVICE? As in, they're in the area, sending me advertisements (one mile from my house) and yet can't get a car here?!

I just don't get this mentality. I WANT to give you money to drive me somewhere. You want to be rude and hang up on me after sending coupons to my address. Nice. Good luck keeping that business alive.

Cons: Rudeness and NO CARS.
