This wretched place killed our beloved Siamese cat. They tore her Trachea open when incompetently inserting an intubation tube in her throat. They failed to follow medical protocol and she suffocated to death.
To be clear, I am a Certified Holistic Health Coach and I am a person who lives both Sustainably and Holistically in my daily life. I also happen to be in the Media and I have spoken with many good Holistic Vets across the country and Animal Advocates about this horrifying tragedy that Smith Ridge imposed upon my family.
What I have witnessed and experienced from Smith Ridge is nothing close to "Holistic" or "Healing" whatsoever.
They are manipulative, dishonest, and clearly incompetent beyond belief. The pain and suffering that they caused my family and how we have been distraught over the unnecessary death of our cat at a place that we thought we could trust is beyond measure.
Our elegant, beautiful Siamese cat was the childhood best friend of our 13 year old [now 15] who had to be told that his most prized family member was killed. The tears and pain this caused him still makes me cry.
Just because a Vet or anyone uses PR and advertising to project the image of "Natural" or "Holistic" it certainly does not equate to what is really being practiced. This is a big wake up call, and anyone reading this review needs to do a lot of research before entrusting their own body or their family members to ANY Doctor/Group.
Surgery is invasive and any good, holistic doctor utilizes more natural healing modalities before suggesting any allopathic measures like surgery whatsoever.
There are so many natural healing methods, and all consumers can take back their empowerment and research natural healing for themselves. Homeopathy, Herbal remedies, Energy Medicine [Rife technology, Ozone, etc.] and Nutrition are available to everyone to learn about and use in their daily lives.
I wish I could go back in time and save our beloved Mina from the horrors of that terrible day on August 4, 2010.
Words cannot describe the pain and suffering we have experienced.

I'm so sorry that the previous reviewer lost his friend. That is so hard. There isn't a vet out there who can save all animals. We were lucky. Quite a few years ago, our dog (a wheaten terrier) was suddenly wheezing and had no energy. We had lost our naturopathic vet (he died) and were seeing conventional vets. They said there was nothing to do for Ramble. Well, that is, except for a very expensive experimental surgery at Tufts, but it didn't have good results.
Rambles lymph system was leaking a quart of fluid into his chest cavity every week. Then we found Dr. Marty Goldstein.

Marty's take was that he didn't know what was wrong or how to heal it, but he did know what was out of balance in Ramble's body and he could support the body and hope he would heal. Six months later, after weekly visits to the conventional vet near where we lived (Boston area) to drain his chest cavity, one week he didn't fill up. A few weeks later we had to have him drained again, but that was the last time!!! Ramble lived happily, with loads of energy and spirit, for almost 6 more years, to 15.

Since then, we make a pilgrimage with our current pets. Again, Marty has worked with odd problems, like wart type growths near the new dog's eyes, and supported his body until the body could heal. I wish we had a people doctor like Dr. Marty!!

My pet went there after we were recommended. They don't do what they promise and the pet came home in worse shape and later died. Dr. Marty Goldstein has written books on what they can do to help animals, so reading them, anyone would try to do what is best. Long story short, they made my pet's life miserable, pet is no longer alive and I am still paying for this. I will NEVER return and will NEVER recommend anyone to this place. I only hope people realize before going. I wish someone told me!
