Pros: Amazing staff

I'm very particular about who cares for my cat. He has been a patient with PAMC since about Sept 08 -- when he was about 3 weeks old; now close to 1.5 years old. PAMC has always been very thorough in their care, advice and follow-up

I used to be a client at Natomas Animal Medical Center (which I loved). We moved to the South Sac area and decided to stick with the same company, but closer to home. Assuming the prices would be the same, we started bringing our pets

I have been taking my pets to this clinic for over three years and to Dr. Jones for even longer at her previous location in Fair Oaks. They have always been courteous, highly professional, informational, sympathetic and traveled the extra mile to help me keep my dogs healthy and happy. One of my dogs has to have surgery this week to remove a huge bladder stone. I was given a ballpark estimate so I called around Sacramento to see if I could have the operation performed more cheaply. I was quote up to 100% over the estimate given by these good folks. No one was offering the surgery as inexpensively as the Pocket group. Last summer, when my deceased mother's Yorkie had to be euthanized (she was 13 and had lost half her body weight... her system started to shut down) the doctor explained the process thoroughly and with such kindness. Some weeks later, I received a ceramic plaque in the mail with a poem and Fergie's name on it. The card was signed by the entire staff. These little things mean so much to us as pet caregivers and I am continually impressed by their care and concern.Dr. Jones & Dr. Reese know I am responsible for a pack of pugs and funds are limited. They always give me options and help me try to cut corners to afford the care they require. The staff have always been kind and competent even under stressful situations, like when a customer tipped over his full cup of hot coffee into their computer system and printer. A lobby full of people and they didn't miss a beat. Although I no longer live nearby. It's worth the drive to ensure my pets have access to quality, affordable health care.I am a contented customer of all the staff at this veterinary medical center.

I recently spent nearly $1000 at this clinic for absolutely nothing. The vet seemed inexperienced, jumped to conclusions and seemed utterly disinterested in hearing my observations about my pet. She ran a lot of expensive, unrelated and unnecessary tests. I feel bad about having put my dog through all of that when he was already in a lot of pain. It's a racket, as far as I can make out.

Pros: Hours, quality of service, convenience

I was visiting my boyfriend's family for the first time, and my little yorkshire terrier was being a little devil. Unfortunately, it was Memorial Day weekend and the options for boarding were very limited. I was happy to find that Pocket Pets Animal Clinic would take Lola (usually very well behaved) for the following 2 days, since I didn't have any records with me, and it was Memorial Day weekend (my vet was closed so couldn't fax over) Lola had to do some shots and I agreed to them. I even double checked with them to NOT place Lola near sick dogs or puppies for fear of her getting sick. They informed me that they will not, with smiles, of course.

The PROBLEMS occurred after I brought Lola home. (Immediately) There was coughing and lethargy. She seemed a bit confused. I took her to the doctor the following week and was given anti-inflammatory meds.. the cough would get better then worse. My vet did not know what was going on and a month later gave Lola some antibiotics. They didn't help. Nothing helps. Her cough has become a LOUD HACKING cough with an extra AAAAK! at the end, (sounds like trying to hack out some mucus)

I am very angry with this POOR excuse of an animal hospital in turning my vivacious healthy 2 yr. old yorkie into a chronic hacking cougher. It is sad and I am concerned... it has been 2 months. I am at my wit's end and am looking for a new vet. DO NOT TAKE YOUR PETS HERE. This is a sure warning for any who are considering... please don't jeapordize your healthy pup. Look for a vet with good backing... not convenience.

I took my pet to Pocket Animal Medical because it was conveniently located in the Pocket area. Dr. Lisa Jones recommended unnecessary testing and procedures on my dog, culminating in unnecessary surgery. After this event, I spoke with neighbors and friends who related similar experiences. In my opinion, this clinic should be avoided at all costs. If I could give zero stars to this clinic, I would.

Pocket Animal Medical Center is a pretty good clinic. My dog likes the vets there who are very nice and treat my dog with that loving touch. They dont have 24 hour emergency services though and the office staff is not very knowledgeable. Their prices are the cheapest that I have come across though.
