It is said that there are two sides to every story, & then there is the truth. After reading a review recently written in regards to Dr. Sam Castimore of Sussex, NJ, we felt compelled to write a commentary of our own...

Dr. Sam is a superior veterinarian. We have three dogs, & each of them has been under his care for over 4 years now. We can honestly say that if our canine kids had not been under his wing these last few years, unquestionably, at least 2 if not all 3 of them would no longer be w/ us today.

Dr. Sam is an experienced, highly educated, & truly compassionate practitioner. In terms of fees, his office is fair & absolutely competitive. In comparison to his peers, his charges might even be considered below the norm. In terms of honesty, this good doctor would never recommend a procedure that was unwarranted or unnecessary. His respect for both his animal & human following would never allow him to conduct such a misdeed. Out of love for his profession, his patients & their families, his modus operandi is to fight 24/7 for the well-being, health, & happiness of everyone who comes knocking at his door suffering and in pain.

In regards to his staff, his volunteers, & especially Ms. Christine, you couldn't ask for a better group of individuals. They all work in conjunction to go above & beyond the call of duty. They do whatever is necessary to accommodate their clientele.

Would we recommend this good doctor to our friends & their furry family members? Absolutely! We have & will continue to do so. It has been suggested that Dr. Sam is only in his practice for the love of money. On the contrary, there is no amount of financial gain to be found when you work as hard as this wonderful veterinarian. One can compensate anyone for their services, but Dr. Sam doesn't charge for his sleepless nights and worried days all stemming from his deep love for those he administers to.

Thank you Dr. Sam. We believe, have faith, & trust you. May God continue to bless you & your staff each & every day!!

My name is Sonia Owchariw and Dr. Sam Castimore wanted to put my cat to sleep. Mozart has been my cat for 14 years. Castimore treated my cat for three years for the cat's constipation. In May 2011, I took Mozart for the problem. I signed no paperwork other than treat Mozart for the constipation. Afterwards, I asked if Mozart could be boarded there. On November 29, 2011, Office Manager Christine Boyd left message on Owchariw's voice mail saying...Sam had to knock Mozart out. Castimore was receiving in the beginning $60 a week then $70, and then $80. I asked Christine why wasn't I given prior notice. She had no answer. However, in court, she lied claiming that Owchariw changed her cell phone number. Not true, Christine! I have cell phone records that indicate I did give you correct number on November 8, 2011. Therefore, you had my new number. Mistake number two, Castimore refused to refund $80 to Owchariw. Castimore was only entitled to $80 a week not $160. Mistake #3, Castimore broke the "prior financial arrangement made between Owchariw and Castimore which was a weekly amount. Mistake #4, Castimore had Christine Boyd tell Owchariw, "WE WILL NO LONGER FINANCE MOZART, EITHER PAY THE WHOLE AMOUNT OR PUT MOZART TO SLEEP!" Does Castimore now hold animnals hostage? Since when do you get your Office Manager to intimidate a customer into bleeding more monies into your pocket?? Castimore charged Owchariw for $310 for the entire month of December boarding. Cat was only there for 8 days. Castimore charged Owchariw for $720 for enemas, etc. If Sam was so concerned about being paid for past services why accrue more expense for Owchariw? Sam Castimore perjured himself on Wednesday, June 27th, when he testified that he never said put Mozart to sleep. However, Attorney, Joseph O'Toole read written statement by Castimore where Castimore wrote, "client was falling behind in payments, put cat out of misery." I have bank records that show I never missed a payment and Sam received weekly eletronically money. Sam is a LIAR. Public Defender, Daniel Colfax, said there was consumer fraud from Castimore. There was no "theft of services" since documentation was never signed. Castimore threatened Mozart and Sonia Owchariw protected her beloved animal. Furthermore, she gave the title of car where she slept in the car for 8 months, to spare Mozart's life. Sam Castimore would not release Mozart unless title was given. Castimore was taken to "Show Cause" in January 2012 because if Owchariw didn't meet weekly payment, Sam would take car away. Sam is all about the money. NJ Herald ran the wrong article. There was no dispute! Sam broke the arrangement and then held Mozart "hostage." Would you still take your animal there? He maliciously prosecuted a woman who loved her animal and was protecting him from an untimely death. Long Live Mozart!
