We are from Northern California. Our trip to NYC was a once in a lifetime experience. Our stay at Club Quarters-Downtown during the first two weeks of July of 2009, exceeded all of our expectations by a large margin. It was simply fabulous. Even though we made our reservations through Priceline, we were treated like royalty. They were able to meet all of our requests. We were especially moved by the hotel managers personal gestures of providing us with a free room upgrade, a free bottle of wine and a free bag of chocolate covered almonds upon our arrival. Amazing!!
All of the staff, from the Guest Service Managers to the bellboy to the housekeeping personnel to the restaurant staff provided us with the finest customer service. One evening, my wife and I were separated and she was out of our room without a key or her purse. She went into the bar, and happened to sit next to the restaurant manager. After striking up a conversation, she explained her situation. The manager gave her drinks on the house. Outstanding!!!
After reading reviews and viewing photos on tripadvisor.com, travel.yahoo.com and insiderpages.com we had some concerns regarding out stay at Club Quarters-Downtown. Not one of our concerns surfaced during our stay. Remarkable!!!!
We hope as many travelers as possible read this review and decide to stay at Club Quarters-Downtown. They will not be disappointed; indeed, they will be thrilled. We may not be able to return to NYC, but if we do, we hope we can stay there again.

Stayed 4 nights in this hotel (which is a business hotel on the weekdays and leisure vacationers on weekends and holidays). The room was fine - no frills hotel (think Holiday Inn type), pretty clean, good size and cheap! I loved the location near Wall Street (since I don't like staying in Midtown) and its a very short distance to TriBeCa, SoHo, Chinatown and Lower East Side. Service could have been better but it wasn't horrible at all. Would stay again for the price
Pros: Price, Location, cleanliness
Cons: , style
Paid less than $100/nt (+ tax). Recommended for business travelers b/c of price and location. Clean, well-kept, spacious (for NYC) rooms w/ mini fridge and couch. Free wireless internet access. Helpful staff. Not much to do or eat after hrs (Bull Run restaurant over priced) although convenient to public trans. Was my 2nd stay here. I'd return.
Pros: Wireless Internet, Mini Fridge, Price
Cons: No Microwave
You can get good deals on this place on weekends through various websites. If you think of it as a budget tourist hotel, it's not bad, and it's within a short walk of nearly every subway line (and downtown sights). Some big minuses: the furnishings felt really cheap, and I could tell by the odor that my room was on the same floor as the gym. If I were on a business trip I'd expect a higher class hotel, but it wasn't bad for what I paid.
Pros: good value
Cons: felt cheap
