Inept secretarial staff. My husband went for an appointment and they put through the insurance using my name; do they need glasses??? On the message machine they say that they will get back to you immediately; they invented a new definition of NEVER!!! I'm sure the doctor himself is good because my husband has no complaints about him, however his secretarial staff is going to lose him alot of business. It would be very professional if they would post their hours so that other people would know the best time possible to call!!!

Four weeks ago, I went to Thorner & Davis. The appointment went well and the doctor was professional and friendly, but then I had to deal with his staff.

With my insurance, I'm eligible for a free set frames once a year, but there are only a certain amount of eligible frames available. I should have known when they showed me the crappy little display case with my approved frames, way back in a corner of the office, that it was going to be bad. The weekend office manager/secretary had some very strong opinions about every free frame I tried. Even going as far as telling me things like, "No, those make your face look fat." These types of helpful opinions finally stopped once I started looking at the actual money frames, which I realize was all part of her sales duty. After finally settling on a pair and accepting what I believe to be an outrageous amount of money for a pair of reading glasses, I was told that they would be ready in about a week.

Nearly two weeks go by before I hear about my glasses. I decided to go by that Saturday to pick them up. I arrived at 3:00 pm only to find they were already shut down for the day. Their door states they're open until 4:00 pm on Saturdays. I decided to try the next Thursday since that is the only weekday they're open late. I call on a Monday and am told they are open until 6:30 pm. I call the day of and am told no, they're only open until 6:00 pm due to "summer hours". Again, their door states 7:00 pm on Thursdays.

After leaving work early, I arrive to find they've ordered the wrong glasses. I had specifically looked at and chosen frames without nose pieces because they bother me. Yet, my new frames have nose pieces. The guy tells me that perhaps I just didn't notice the nose pieces before. He then tells me they can exchange them, but he couldn't confirm what cost if any that would be to me.

I wish I had just went to the drugstore and gotten some regular reading glasses.
