Snooty salespeople, inept repair people, terrible customer service. I agree with all of the reviewers here, but have something to add to reviewer nycjz123??s comments. I have purchased a few quartz watches from Tourneau a while ago, (mostly because of their free lifetime battery replacement policy). I have come to the conclusion that their free battery replacement for life is a gimmick to trick you into paying for service that you do not need. I am convinced that they pretend that your watch is due for a cleaning or other maintenance, and then if you tell them that you only want the battery replaced your watch suddenly has some real problems. This happened twice to me on two different watches. (Which were running perfectly when I brought them in). The attorney general or Chris Hansen should investigate. Don??t ever purchase a watch from Tourneau, they are rip-off artists.

Where do I begin to describe my horrible experience. My wife recently surprised me with a Breitling for my 30th bday. She negotiated a lower price than the MSRP, but I ended up taking it back to the store and exchanging it for another model. She negotiated a lower price on the second Breitling which I should mention was more expensive than the first Breitling she picked out, but the discount was not as good. Tourneau has a strict 7 day exchange only policy. They DO NOT give refunds. At this point we were at their mercy. The sales rep said she would have it polished and that we could pick it up in 2 days. My wife picked up the watch and when she brought it home I noticed a few scatches on the watch. We took the watch back to the store and the sales rep apologized and said she would ensure their service dept would fix it. When my wife picked up the watch the second time I noticed the watch was in slightly better condition, but by no means did this look like a new watch. There were still visible scratches on the watch. I took it back to the store (my third visit at this point) and spoke to the floor manager. The sales rep we had dealt with that day was off. He was very polite, but he had the f'n nerve to tell me that all watches get scratched at some point. He said he would have the service dept take care of it and if I wasnt satisfied with the result, then he would order a new watch. He shipped the watch to me when it was finished. He assured me that the watch looked excellent. However, when I received the watch, I noticed that the remaining scratches were only polished and not removed. He is ordering a new watch for me. I dont have any confidence that they will get this right. This has to be my worst shopping experience ever. I can't believe the horrible service and attention to detail from Tourneau. Once they charge your card, then you are stuck with them. I wish I could return the watch altogether for the amount of time I have wasted trying to get them to correct flaws on what should be a new watch. I highly recommend you shop somewhere else where the sales people do not try to pass off a scratched watch as new. STAY AWAY.

Pros: They will negotiate with you.

Cons: Horrible service and Exchange Only Policy

I took a Tourneau watch that has kept perfect time for 20 years into the Tourneau store on 34th St to have the battery changed after 13 months. They "replaced" the battery but the watch started to lose 1 minute a day. Took it into the 57th/5th Ave store and they said that the battery was dead. They "replaced" the battery again, but it continued to lose time. Brought it in again and they took it in to diagnose it. Weeks later they want $195 to fix something they caused.
No thanks.
I intend to learn how to open it up and replace the battery myself.

My watch battery died so I took it to Tourneau because it is close to my office. They told me it would be $30 and 10 minutes, which was steep, but fine. 10 minutes later they told me that the problem was not the battery and they would give me a repair estimate in 2-4 weeks. When I received the estimate they said it would cost $355 to repair my watch and did not specify what was wrong with it. The watch costs about $400 new so I told them no thanks because it seemed impossible to me that it would need such a large repair (it's 2 years old and has never been damaged.)

I took it to a place in the diamond district on a friend's recommendation and they fixed it for $8, the battery was dead after all. Tourneau is either completely dishonest or completely inept at fixing watches. Either way, I would never go there again.

Cons: DISHONEST

I've walked into this store twice thinking that the first experience must have a fluke due to a salesman having a bad day, I was wrong. Horrible service and extremely smug about everything even if your looking for anything between $5K - $8k in my cases. I would service my watch here but would never consider buying from here excluding the fact that they also charge full msrp for everything.

Pros: go for watch maintenance

Cons: rude and smug sales staff

I really don't recommend there. I had the worst customer service which I'd never experienced in my life. They are terrible customer service, so unprofessional and rude. I'm not gonna go back there ever again.

I had an awful experience at Tourneau. I bought a sport watch for my husband for his birthday, but he didn't like it. When I returned to the store with him to shop for another watch, I discovered there is an exchange, but no return, policy -- something that was printed on the receipt but _not_ communicated to me verbally when I bought the watch.

What ensued was a tragicomedy of errors involving rude salesmen, an order for a watch that took far too long to arrive, and a watch that when it finally did arrive, had a mark on the band.

Meanwhile, many other stores do carry the watch and have it in stock, but since I couldn't get my money back from Tourneau, I felt trapped into getting the watch at that store.

A miserable experience all around. Perhaps Tourneau relies too much on tourist business and doesn't care about repeat local customers.
