Great steaks and excellent brisket tacos! You have to try the wagon wheels and onion rings for appetizers. The service is excellent and the Texas history makes it a must see for everyone!

Fun steakhouse - Texas style. We've had steaks to seafood and always good. Excellent baked sweet potatoes. Catfish is good too. Just that kind of place!

From the menu to the atmosphere, everything at Love and War in Texas is unique. For lunch they you won't go wrong with the Wild Boar Sandwich, or the Texas Twister Combo. Just good Texas eating. Y'all come!

When we *finally* got a waiter, I ordered the Bevo Bites (steak and vegetable shishkabob thingy). When the Bevo Bites *finally* arrived, I was horrified after a few bites to find a giant, dead "waterbug" cockroach underneath one of the shishkabobs. I called the waiter's attention to it, and he quickly took my plate away... now HERE's where it even gets worse:

We sat there for a half-hour, and no one came back to our table. When I finally searched out another waiter and asked if we could see our waiter, he said yes, and left. Another half-hour... no one... nothing. In my search for a waiter, I even walked back into the kitchen; there was not a single English-speaking soul back there, and the place was beyond filthy. I've never seen such filth and disarray anywhere in my life.

Their response to my complaint about the cockroach was to PRETEND WE WEREN'T EVEN THERE AND WAIT UNTIL WE LEFT!! My next stop would have been the city health department, but the employees at Love & War had taken away the "evidence". I'd say RUN, DON'T WALK away from Love & War In Texas!

Pros: Moderate nausea, but didn't have to be hospitalized.

Cons: See below...

My girlfriend and I went to L&W on a slow rainy Sunday night for some beer/appetizers & to watch some football....

We ordered the fried dill pickles, which were horribly salty and no dill pickle flavor at all, just salty batter. Then we got the veggie fondue, which was served flaming at tableside (impressive). However, after the flames were out, the fondue was a melted clump of disgusting and globby cheese. I absolutely love any and all cheese, but this was horrible and un-edible!

Upon complaining, our server YELLED across the bar area to the manager, telling us the manager had to come see it with his own eyes before it could be taken off our bill. The manager preceeded to tell us it "wasn't supposed to look like that" and the kitchen used too much Everclear to make the flame, which ruined the consistency of the cheese. He then went on to say that he was an owner and that they wouldn't still be in business after 10 yrs, if their food was bad...and added that usually the fondue is pretty popular.

Frankly, I didn't want to hear excuses...just an apology, which came very late and with a chip on his shoulder. I was actually nautious from the food, but we decided to hang out and continue watching football...that was until however, the bar ridicule session....

There was a guy sitting at the bartop, having a drink. He apparently worked in the kitchen and had just gotten off work. The manager comes walking up to the guy cussing him loudly, and blaming him and the rest of the kitchen staff for something about tomotoes not being swept off the floor. The manager is screaming "I'm f'ng sick of this s#it!" at the guy and another kitchen staff member that had come out for the confrontation.

I COULD NOT BELIEVE WHAT I WAS SEEING! How unprofessional can you be to have a yelling match at your staff at the bartop in front of other customers? My friend and I quickly told our server we were uncomfortable and wanted to leave immediately. I inquired about the manager and was told he lied to us, that L&W was NOT in fact his place as we'd been told prior when complaining of the fondue, but rather this manager's brother was the owner. Well, I wonder what his brother would think?! I have never in my life, felt the so uncomfortable that I had to flee a restaurant and felt so empathetic towards a staff for having to work under such a unprofessional hothead.

Pros: parking, location, TVs in bar area, live music, menu variety

Cons: rude manager, nasty food, no Sun night happy hour

This was a great place for lunch--many choices from salads to steaks. I especially liked the taco salad with smoky ranch dressing. We enjoyed the non-traditional landscaping--lots of plants and small trees that require little water and are native to Texas. We have not heard the band but there is one at specific times. Go and enjoy.

I'll be honest that I had never heard of this place, but a friend of ours suggested it because it was one of his favorite spots to frequent, so we all went. I was a little skeptical about ordering wine there, especially because they only had their own wine by the glass, but I took the plunge and tried their Cab. I was surprised that it was pretty good. I love game meat, so I was really excited when I saw the menu. My husband and I split the roasted boar, which I'm glad we split because their portions are huge. We absolutely loved it. Even the green beans were excellent. After dinner, we ventured out to the heated patio for some wonderful live music and more drinks. All in all, it was a great experience. I'm bringing more friends next time!

My Family took me out here for my b-day! It was so fun! We had such a good waiter, he was so paitient with us, even tho we took so long. The Food is wonderful, It is Texas PROUD! best food you'll ever eat! Each person will tab out about $20 with drink, meal and dessert! The service was Fast, well done. Everyone seem to help eachother. Would recommend going there!

Best part, when a Great guy named Lonnie sang me happy b-day! It was great! Everyone there makes you feel so welcome, they all have huge smiles on their faces!

This restaurant is some what dark, they got a cute sented candel lighting your table!

Pros: Great Food, Great Music, Cute waiters/Waitress

Cons: Gets Busy-, Have patience!

If you like paying high price for average food, then it is a good place to go. If you like to drink beer or like food cooked in beer, then it is your place to go. The music is good and the inside is OK but not anything brag about.

Ha! You want to have a little fun with your visitors, show 'em what TEXAS is all about? Bring 'em on out to Love and War, get yourself a dinner platter of CFS (Chicken Fried Steak), garlic mashed potatoes, and who cares what else comes with it. A mug of beer (32 oz) impressed the heck out of my european amigos, who are used to those teeny weenie little beers they drink in Amsterdam and Stockholm. And the waitresses are very easy on the eye, too. Sets you back about $20 per person, with tax, tag and title.
