When we purchased a home, I called to ask for a price quote to have 6 doors re-keyed. I was given a price of $39.39 service call, plus $15-$25 per door.

This appears to be a "dispatch service" to a large group of locksmiths - NOT employees that come to your house.

The key I was given didn't work so the tech had to pick the first lock, an extra charge of $35 and I had no dispute with that. My husband drove up to deliver the key that would fit all the rest of the locks, however the tech said "these are special locks and cost a lot more money" and charged me $40 PER LOCK (handle and deadbolt on all 6 doors....$500 due at the end) I was blown away by the discrepancy between the phone quote and and the final charge!

I have called their office 4 times over the past week to explain what happened and discuss my problem with a manager. I have not received a return phone call, and a customer service rep said "The owner/manager said he'll give you a 10% discount, that's all he can do."

After no return phone calls, I checked with Rex Locksmith in Berkeley to ask for a comparative price: they said the exact brand and type of locks I have (Kwikset Smart Key) would be charged at $15 per lock.

I could have purchased new doorknobs and deadbolt hardware for all six doors for LESS than what they charged me.

Cons: I paid double what they quoted over the phone

I broke my ignition key in my ignition, I managed to get it out myself so I continued to start the car using my spare key. One day my car just wouldn?t start I thought it was the other key so I called MulTi Locksmith it turns out I needed an ignition replacement because I still had little bits of key in the ignition because I hadn?t gotten anybody to extract it properly. The technician from MulTi Locksmith was really nice and told me they could do the ignition replacement for me. MulTi Locksmithdid a great job on the ignition replacement and I would defiantly recommend them to others.

If you need a locksmith during business or non business hours then MulTi Locksmith is the locksmith service to call. I had lost keys and I needed a lock smith to come and re key my locks for me. The only thing is I work late and after calling a few companies and getting no answer I called MulTi Locksmith at (510) 279-0219. It was great they had somebody out straight away to re key locks for me and did it for a great price. I highly recommend MulTi Locksmith for any re key or locksmith job.

I recently left my car unlocked on Christmas night; I kept a single key in a hidden compartment in my car for starting in the morning to get it warm. Our complex has had a rash of kids going around the parked cars and checking for unlocked cars and stealing items from the cars. They stole my extra key that opens the doors and works the ignition as well. I called Available Locksmith and ask if they could re-key the 2 doors and hatch to keep them from gaining access to my car while parked overnight? The technician was very friendly and professional. Although Christmas eve, he immediately arrived and after 30 minutes he installed NEW locks for a reasonable price.

Pros: took him 10 min to come by

Cons: The technician had to leave quickly and refused to drink?

Impressively quick service: It was 4:30am on a Monday morning. On my way to work, I realized I had locked my car and house keys in the house. So I called these guys and they came out nearly fifteen minutes later... and the price was quite reasonable.

Pros: Fast, good value for money

Cons: None!
