Ugo's Wine Bar in Culver City gives a fun spin on the wine bar concept. Here you can try a wide array of wides from all over different wine regions using futuristic, imported Enomatic machines, which help keep wine from oxidizing this allow customers to sample as little as 1 oz. of any vino in stock. Though wine is the main attraction here their is a tapas style menu to compliment your wine tasting experience?including breads and a selection of Italian cured meats and cheeses are available. This is all done in a very warm and inviting environment where one can walk around to see what is available and speak to other enjoying the same experience.

why is this place EVER crowded?????

by winey1

I've been here a few times...not by choice..and EVERY single time I've been here the pasta dishes have come out cold. Was there last night, same thing. The service is slow which I guess explains the temperature of the food. Not only that but my date ordered the Rigatoni Bolognese and it was completely tasteless. I like pasta al dente but some of the noodles were just plain hard. I had the chopped salad which was ok. It's not very expensive .. the only redeeming quality.. but really not a good place. So many other places in culver city on the same street. NEVER again

Pros: house wine was pretty good

Cons: cold tasteless food, bad service

self serve frozen yougurt in the wine world

by ramadavis

This is a perfect gimmicky wine bar. It reminded me of an upscale serve yourself fro'yo'. A casual classy setting with very little attitude. Not exactly best "bing" (wanted to use a word than rhymes with "sang" but ctysrch won't let me) for your buck but great idea and something different for a night out in Culver City.

Pros: hands off classy environment

Verbally assaulted by Manager!

by LedaAtomica11

This used to be a favorite place to go and bring out of town guests...at least until my party & I were verbally assaulted by the Manager minutes before they were closing tonight. Our party of 8 had spent a good 3 hours there, not to mention a good amount of money, when one of us tried to order something to eat. She was told the kitchen was closed - we were not aware of that prior, nor were we warned it was closing. Being 110 lbs. & full of wine, she went across the street & brought back a small order of mac & cheese to eat & soak up some of the alcohol. She was nearly finished when the Manager approached us stating how 'DISRESPECTFUL!!!' it was to bring in food from another restaurant. He was correct to a point, but the manner & tone in which he was speaking to us was COMPLETELY unnecessary & totally astounded us all! We really thought he was joking at first because he was that ridiculous. We tried to apologize or at least defend ourselves from the verbal attacks, but he was RELENTLESS! His tirade lasted nearly 30 minutes. I am still in shock that it actually happened because his manner was so uncalled for & assaulting. Usually, people try to accommodate customers, not embarrass, threaten, & belittle them. We're not the type of people that are difficult or rude or ANYTHING like that...I've spent plenty of years in the service industry to know that his manner was completely out of line, especially for a manager...it totally blew us away & shocked us into tears LITERALLY! The other servers we had prior to 'the king' were great & actually apologized to me for his behavior...I guess this happens often? I am sick to my stomach from it & can't sleep now. Thank you Manager w/ the dark hair & glasses...wish I would have gotten your name....won't allow me to put zero stars so you get 1 & I am posting this everywhere I can

Pros: the manager completely negated anything positive I used to find in this establishment
