TranZenDance, described as a "Yogic or Zen Sanctuary with Poles" by interior designer, Sarah Cabral, features a contemporary Asian decor in a secure, private space. In lieu of the traditional mirrors that one would expect in a dance studio, oil paintings and sculptures from Indonesia decorate the walls. Soft, dim lighting sets the scene for the sensual workout of the "pole dance" where participants, who may initially feel self-conscious about their bodies, become at-ease upon realizing that it is too dark to see much more than their silhouettes. Regarding the ambience, owner and lead instructor, Dr. Lori Huett emphasizes "the setting creates an opportunity to delve within and experience this movement from the inside-out, unleashing the sensuality that lies dormant in the depths of our bodies." We look forward to having you at TranZenDance Studio in Denver.

Better than training at the gym + therapy combined

by Cristina H.

These classes have done more for me than years of regular fitness training at the gym (with a trainer). At 42, I am stronger and leaner than I have ever been and not only in body but also in mind. It has taken me years to build the courage to make the changes that I have needed to make in order to move forward with living. I did not imagine, when I started, that "pole dancing" would be the activity that would get me to move on with my life. This dance and studio are beautiful. I have learned to embrace and feel good in my own skin and while having fun with women of all ages that I can relate and share. This studio is like no other place in Denver. The instructors care about promoting the art and athletics of this dance style. I was hesitant about starting since I have never really danced before. Women come from all over to take these classes. I have made a few really good friends and I think everyone in class has been pleasantly surprised at what we have achieved in just months.

Therapeutic

by SeriousAboutPoleDancing

I have struggled with an eating disorder and body image issues all of my life. The staff and community at this studio have done more to heal these issues and to make me feel better about myself as a woman. I cannot thank the owner, teachers, and friends I have made here enough for all of their encouragement and support.

Pros: Safe environment & excellent teachers

horrible shocking experience

by rdancer

i began taking classes several months ago and was moving along with my dancing, although very slowly. i have been dancing my entire life and am aware of my technique, body alignment & strength. i felt very held back in these classes as my class was always very full of beginners and i wasn't allowed to perfect the exercises i was working on and definitely wasn't moving on with anything.
i was just recently offered by the owner a chance to move up in level, which i happily accepted - only to get a call several days later telling me that i was no longer WELCOME at the studio due to the fact that i wanted to move up in level! several of my other fellow classmates had left the studio because of the same reason.....but i'm still shocked at this business and customer service practice. i'll be investigating some other pole dance options around denver - no one needs to be treated in this way as a client of a business.

Cons: unfriendly customer service and unpleasant experience

I am addicted!

by ECinDenver

I have been a student at Tranzendance for 2 months now. I had taken at three other studios and had given up with the idea that professional classes would be offered anytime soon in Colorado. At this studio, I finally get what this movement is all about for women. Pole dancing is not about turning someone else in your life "on," but about turning your whole body, mind, and soul "on." This studio gets this concept! Also it is assuring to take classes from someone who can teach the physics of pole work. For women who become addicted to pole dancing--who want to practice all the time (like me), it is really important to learn the right form so that you do not get injured. Taking classes from a professional dancer and someone who knows what they are doing makes all the difference. I highly highly recommend Tranzendance in Denver!!!

Aweseome Dance Instructor!!!

by suzieq95

My close friends and I booked a private Pole Dance session for a Bachelorette party last weekend. It was the absolute best way to start our special evening. Lori was an incredible dance instructor whose studio is comfortable and welcoming. We learned so much and had a blast. We felt energized and positive. It must have been the most comfortable I felt in my own skin in a long time. !! I would recommend TranZenDance Studio to ANYONE!

Pros: Personal attention from instructor, studio ambiance, quality of instruction

Cons: Muscle soreness after workout!

Life-changing

by CHillsmom1

When I signed up to learn pole dancing I thought it would just be for fun. These classes (Laurie's) are powerful. In addition to changing my body I feel that I am embarking on an entire lifestyle change-for the better. All of this is hard to put in words but if there are things that you have put off doing, these classes can help jump start it all.

Take it from a yoga guru ...

by ShaktiYoga

I have studied yoga and pilates for nine years and this instructor is more familiar with the fundamentals and practices of both of these disciplines-more than a lot of teachers I have studied with-and this is all in a dancer's training workout or pole dance class. I recommend both to anyone who needs to shake up their fitness routine.

Pros: instructors training and knowledge

Cons: would be fun if she taught a reformer (Pilates) class too

Chic studio with great upscale pole classes

by LuxeDenverChic

Loved the class that I took and the instructor was very knowledgable about working with past running injuries that i have had. The moves are very exotic dance like moves but very beautiful and classy. I felt very comfortable since there are no weird mirrors which I have seen at other places. Sensuous dancing is a major workout.

Fun classes that produce results

by TiffBoulderCO

I am not a big fan of the gyms and I have let my body go the last couple years but I must say that the classes that I have taken fly by and I can see the results in my clothes and with the way that I feel. I take the two hour pole dance class and I try to make it to the dancer's conditioning class which is just as intense but in a different way from the dance classes. This studio is very professionally run and classes always run over-meaning that you get a longer and more intense class because of the care that is show towards students. I have to also say how amazed I am at the age range doing pole dancing and everyone does it well.

Fun bachelorette party that we just threw here

by Josetteandrews

My friends and I threw a pole dance party over the weekend to celebrate one of our friends getting married. We have never had so much fun dancing and working out (sober) in our lives. This studio will cater to whatever your preferences are: we spent more time learning some of the different pole turns. The bachelorette received was pleased since she could bring in a few outfits to learn to perform and dance in for her husband to be. Great music, service, and studio. I recommend a party or class to anyone interested in pole dancing.

Terrific workout and classes

by JulieGar111

I didn't know what to expect in a pole dance class but I must say that this class is not only a really fun but it tones all of the trouble spot for women. I also think this is an empowering workout for women since it is about releasing certain inhibitions and feeling more confident about our bodies no matter what our size or shape. The instructor has a true "Zen" approach and this really is a yoga type studio with poles. I have taken some yoga but I think that pole dancing might even be a better workout. I am quitting my gym to join these classes.

One of a kind studio and class

by SusanneS

I have taken two private lessons at this studio with the idea of becoming more comfortable in my body, with my femininity. I did not know what to expect since I had not taken a pole dance class before. I have taken exotic dancing and belly dancing. I was amazed at the skill involved as well as the strength needed to do this kind of dancing. I really felt at-ease and comfortable with the instructor, whom I worked with for these two private lessons. Not only was the workout really great but I enjoyed learning and working with someone who is so passionate about the dance and its significance for women. I will be continuing to take private lessons at this studio.

Pros: Instructor's passion, beautiful studio, class format, music

Cons: I can't think of any

Legitimate workout and dance practice!

by ConnieDia

I am so thrilled that this studio opened in Denver. I took the Hollywood version that came to town over 2 years ago. I have always liked this dance form, but the pretention of the lead instructor from that Hollywood studio was over the top.

This studio, by comparison, is run like a professional yoga or pilates studio. It is in a beautiful building. The space is very comfortable. I met with the head instructor, who took time to answer my questions and give me a demonstration of the dance, which is quite graceful and beautiful. (Not at all what people think when they think of "pole dancing.")

I signed up for the series and I cannot wait to start this next week. This studio offers clean bathrooms, locker rooms, parking. Dance gear is affordable and the entire studio is artistic just as described.

Best personal fitness instruction!

by Judith34

Take it from one who is bored with yoga and the gym-this studio offers a wonderful workout in a nice setting. The owner is very friendly and very informative about the body, yoga, pilates, and other workout forms. It is fun to workout in a way that is different every class but in a way that works all muscles. Overall fabulous service and attention. I could tell that the instructor really cared about her students well-being above and beyond what was even taught in class. Exceptional new boutique type studio in Denver!

Pros: Excellent service, staff, knowledge, setting, schedule options, parking

Cons: That there are not more studios like this around town
