if you are looking for a hair stylist who is a truly genuine person with massive amounts of talent, i suggest going to JD at eva scrivo salon. he had cut my hair a few times at a previous salon almost a year ago and i finally visited him at eva scrivo today. he remembered all of my personal hair styling preferences from way back when, which truly blew me away. he is a great listener and hasn't tried anything outside of my comfort zone. at the same time, he's made some really great suggestions and we've taken some baby steps towards a more "daring" 'do. i also really liked the atmosphere at eva scrivo's salon. it was very relaxing, yet totally contemporary. basically - a high-end experience without any of the pretention. i highly recommend going and HIGHLY recommend asking for JD!

I entrusted my tresses to Donna to do a drastic color change from very blonde to caramel brown. Her adorable assistant whose tone and demeanor manages to find the perfect balance between genial hospitality and an efficient clip, made me feel welcomed throughout the entire visit in the unpretentious yet uber-chic space saturated with star shine (from the oft photographed owner Eva to the famous clientele). Donna was lovely; friendly without being overly-intrusive and reassuring knowing this was a nerve wracking process for me. Most importantly, she did not dissolve into peels of laughter when I showed her a photo of Giselle Budchen and said Can you make my hair look like this? Amazingly, she did! Perfect color-sassy cut. I get rave reviews on her masterpiece daily. If only my trainer were half as good and could produce similar results when I show her a photo of Giselles *body* :-)

I recently went to Eva Scrivo Salon for the first time. I saw Kaz for my Haircut and Lana for my manicure and pedicure. Kaz was absolutly amazing. This is the first GOOD cut I've recevied in the last 10 years. He has some pretty impressive techniques and can give a great blow-out. I left there looking amazing!! My boyfriend loved my hair so much that he's gonna book an appointment for himself. I would highly recommend Kaz if you're looking for a great haircut.

I have lived in the neighborhood for several years, and walk past Eva Scrivo practically every day. In a city full of pretentious salons filled with egotistical stylists, I was hesitant to walk in until a friend recommended it to me. From the moment I walked in, the staff was warm and friendly, and then I met JD. He listened to my requests, made suggestions for future visits, and was an overall pleasure to spend time with. I got a cut and color, and could not be more pleased. In all honesty, I did not want to leave, and I regret my initial hesitation to even walk in. If you're looking for a new stylist (even if you're not) - I would definitely recommend Eva Scrivo and JD.

I have been a loyal Ally follower for quite some time. She keeps my skin looking brilliant and teaches me how to maintain a fresh, healthy complexion. She is the only person I will ever trust to do my Brazilian waxing! And I now go monthly! Ally is thorough, quick, gentle, and extremely nuturing. I am in the beauty industry myself and have experianced many aestheticians, internationally, and Ally excedes them all. I do not know why all of NYC has not been in to see her. She makes splurging on skin worth way more than shoes that last 4 seasons.

My experiences at Eva Scrivo have been nothing but wonderful--the staff is top notch, friendly, and professional...no attitude whatsoever. I have to admit that at first walking into the salon I was intimidated. I had only seen a barber and paid $12 to get my haircut. My girlfriend hated my hair so I figured Id go see her hairstylist once so she'd understand that I just have bad hair and it's not worth paying the money. I hate to tell her she's right but Donna changed my outlook. She cut my hair to bring out my best features. She showed me how to style my hair, and bottom line made me like my hair. Now I rave about Donna just as much as my girlfriend. Ok Im man enough to admit when Im wrong, thank you Donna and Carla for opening my eyes.

I've been to this salon several times now, and one of the things that amazes me is the consistency of excellence. Being a business owner myself, I can appreciate how difficult it is to consistently deliver great work and outstanding customer service, especially in a vanity-based service business. When you have a great experience at a salon on your first visit, you sometimes wonder if you just happened to catch everyone on a good day. So I was very pleasantly surprised that after about five or six visits, where I saw more than one stylist, and have had spa services as well, every one of my experiences has been overwhelmingly positive. Everyone from the front desk staff, to the stylists and aestheticians, has been wonderful. They are true professionals and lovely individuals. My hat goes off to the management for building such a fabulous business!

I told the stylist I have wavy hair--layers are OK as long as my hair can be pulled back without bobbypins and the pieces around my face come to my chin at least. I also stressed how I don't have time to blow out my hair in sections and that I can't wash and go because it looks too messy/frizzy. I ended up with a mullet. She cut 6 inches off--3 was the max I said. "Butchered" is the best description. I have a 6 inch step betweent he top and bottom layers. "80's prom queen" has been the reaction from friends. I have been in a ponytail with 80 bobby pins since.

I just recently moved to New York and needed a new salon-well I have found one and it is amazing. Eva Scrivo Salon is the ultimate experience; the staff is friendly, the space is relaxing and the services are top notch. I had my hair colored and cut. My stylist talked me through the whole process to make sure I got exactly what I wanted. I can say that I have never had a better cut and color in my life. While my color was sitting, I indulged and got a manicure. Lana, the manicurist, gives wonderful hand massages and my cuticles are still healthy.
Even better, I called last minute and was shocked when they fit me in the next day for an early morning appointment. This salon is perfect for anyone looking for a little pampering and an amazing hair cut.

This was my 3rd haircut with Donna, the 3rd haircut for me has always been the worst. Not this time, i actually went in expecting to be let down. It's' been my experience that the 1st cut is always great they're trying to impress, the 2nd they can copy the 1st but the 3rd seems to be a new ballgame. Not only was it incredible but it may be my favorite. Having a cut that is easy and fits my personal style has made my life so much easier. Donna i know you'll read this, i thought about sending you a thank you card but i thought this was a better. My fellow curly haired women know how frustrating getting a hair cut can be....most stylists don't know how to handle the shape of a curl, and thus chop it off. I haven't had a real haircut since high school, other than an even trim. Pepper immediately diagnosed me as being "severly one-lengthed." My curly hair looked heavy, straight and lifeless. I told Pepper to do what she saw fit for my oval face shape, but that I wanted to maintain a "length" to my hair. She cut pieces of different lengths, using only a razor! When she finished, my curls bounced up into life like never before. My hair had texture and even brought out highlights that were previously hidden under my heavy length. I was so impressed with Pepper's technique. Now I can finally get hair cuts again!!!

As a guy, here is my experience with every stylist before PEPPER:

Stylist: "What do you want"?
Me: "I don't know, I just want to look good".
Stylist: "Well, tell me the haircut you want & I'll do it".

They don't get it - I don't know what I want, OK? I want to look the best I can with what I have.

PEPPER was the first stylist who sat me down and said "Given the shape of your face & the bone structure of your head, this is the haircut that will make you look attractive".

Since Ive been seeing her, the compliments in my office have been flying, as well as my friends requesting her contact info for her info.

Pepper is one of the best hair stylist & colorist that I have ever been too. Hair is a sensitive issue with most women & it is hard to decide what to do. Pepper takes one look at you & makes tones of suggestions. Her suggestion are always right on the money!! She's not the type of stylist that does whatever she feels, she LISTENS to what you what & cuts away. If you want a new look, I suggest to GO SEE PEPPER!!!! You can never go wrong!!! You will always get a FABULOUS Hair cut or Color!!!

PEPPER gave me my first haircut EVER that I was HAPPY with. She has cut and dyed the hair of all my co-workers (from a striped mohawk to a head full of curls) and they all looked SO GOOD that I trusted her to cut my never-been-dyed-2 foot long-hair how ever she wanted and she did not disappoint me. I went from Platinum to Brunett--very scary. DONNA was so patient, skilled and went above and beyond to make sure I felt comfortable and left happy. THERE IS ZERO ATTITUDE at this high-end salon and Eva, who owns it treats every client like a celebrity.

JD knows exactly what to do with my hair and I'm sure he will know exactly what to do for you too. He listens to what you want and like, if you want change, he suggests the right styles specifically for you... if you prefer to keep a style that you like, he respects what you want to do. I recently moved to the city and had read the amazing reviews about Eva Scrivo Salon- in particular the sassy, sweet stylist Donna. Believe what you hear about Donna and get yourself an appt today! Donna is the best person I've ever had do my hair, and I've been to a lot of stylists (Newbury Street Boston places). Most importantly, Donna creates a cut/look that works with your best features, bringing the best out in you rather than just duplicating trendy styles that everyone in the world has. Donna takes her time, being meticulous about both cut and product, explaining all that she does along the way, making you feel comfortable about how to do the style when you get home. She is warm, friendly and kind. Overall, being around her just makes you feel happy. And in the end, when you see what she creates, you will be thrilled!

I have gone to all the big name hairstylists and have always been satisfied with my haircut. I recently tried Eva and I was blown away. I never thought I could be so happy with a haircut. It is exactly what I wanted and it is very low maintenence. It is such a great cut that is doesn't require me to do much at all after washing it! I just went back for my second haircut with Eva and it was even better than the first time - I didn't think that was even possible!

I had my hair cut by Daniel and I can honestly say it was the best haircut I've ever had. Not only is Daniel incredibly personable and down to earth, he's one of the most knowledgeable stylists I've ever met. From the second I sat down, he was attentive to my needs and didn't make me feel like I didn't know my own hair. I'm low maintenance when it comes to my locks and Daniel showed me how to make my hair work for me instead of making me work for my hair. 3 weeks later my 'do is still in great shape and looks exactly like it did when I left the salon. I was also extremely impressed with the kindness of the staff from receptionist to assistants. In a town where snobbery is abundant, Eva Scrivo Salon (and Daniel) rise above and deliver the goods.

I'm not one to jump on bandwagons, but after reading the almost suspiciously
glowing reviews of DONNA by bella d and bellag (hmmm), I decided to check
her out for myself. They were right; she's a master! Made my long hair short
with just a few expert movements of a sharp instrument. My self-esteem rose as quickly as the brown locks fell, and paying $150 for it made me feel, well, virile.
As I left, she oh-so-casually recommended I find the salon on citysearch, rather than simply giving me evascrivo.com. Now I know why. There aren't any reviews of DONNA at the latter.

Pepper, my stylist, is a genius. She can take one look at you, your hair, your style, and come up with a haircut that perfectly reflects the best part of yourself. She has cut my hair in a way that is simple to style by myself, can look edgy or refined depending on how I part it, and attracts an almost silly number of compliments. Best cut EVER! I'm still completely floored at how DONNA snipped my crazy curls into submission -- and made the whole process seem effortless! (Trust me, this was no small feat) My wild, frizzy hair has left me with many a salon heart break - this time around I'm escstatic. Perfect color, perfect shape -- what a master! I've been devoted to J.D. for over a year and will never go elsewhere. When I first came to him, my hair was damaged, so he took special care with the highlighting products until my hair was healthy again. He listens attentively, makes creative suggestions for both color and style, and explains how to re-create the style at home. I like my highlights/lowlights to look natural, and he's worked with my color to not only look like I was born with it, but to avoid noticeable roots in the grow-out phase. These are the basics you'd expect of a talented stylist/colorist; as a bonus, J.D. is also sweet and funny and charming (and always looks wonderful). The salon itself is an airy, elegant space whose friendly staff makes you feel right at home. It's an amazing place to be pampered, and you'll walk out feeling gorgeous.

Pepper has been my hairstylist for 6 years. I won't let anyone touch my hair but her. She always gives me exactly what I want. If I do run out of ideas for my hair Pepper will always come up with a creative & unique vision for my style but keep it manageable. I actually pass by the salon every day for work and finally succumbed to my curiosity and got a haircut. My stylist Pepper was fantastic! She spoke with me about my interests and had me describe what I love and hate about my hair and gave me the best haircut I've ever had! This past wekeend I got the best haircut of my life at Eva Scrivo from JD! I pointed to a picture in a magazine I wanted and I walked out with the exact haircut. he totally understands what will and will not be flattering for my face and cut accordingly. I love this salon! Of all the independantly owned salons in the area, Eva's is by far the best. It's like being at my best friend's apartment. The staff makes you feel right at home the second you walk in the door. The stylists are amazing, to say the least. They can do anything! I got EXACTLY what I asked for - no "surprises". The shampoo and scalp massage is SOOO relaxing, the cut is amazing, and the COFFEE is INCREDIBLE! Be sure to get some while you're there! Better than any cafe in the area :)

I've recommended this place to many friends and clients - I always here the same thing. "Thank you! Eva's place is amazing!" Seriously, this is the place to go if you want to be pampered!

Attending this salon is like asking a skilled & talented friend for advice and making it happen! Each LISTENED CAREFULLY to my goals and delivered what I expected and was promised.
Spoke with manager (Arik) about my goal to update my look who recommended that I speak directly w/Eva. Eva fixed my eyebrows while I explained my goals. She made "no pressure" service suggestions & worked w/ my schedule to find the right person to handle each service. She provided a list of times & dates rather than have me sort it out on with reception. afterwards Wonderful medi & pedi (Lana). Facial with Ally & make-up with Eva's sis, Vinetta, were fantastic. Donna's blow-out and cut suggestions were right on the money. Shellie's delicate acupuncture put me to sleep (I have insomnia). Consering the personalized service, prices were less expensive than other places but competitive at the very least.

I was sent to Donna by one of my best friends that sees her. I've never been so impressed by a hairdresser. She wasn't afraid to tell me what I should do with my hair and it's amazing how right she was. I've never had someone really sit and look at me and tell me what I need and be soooo right. I even let her highlight my hair, my first time, and I was extremely nervous but it complemented my hair perfectly. I know she's right because I think I look great, my friends think I look great, and apparently strangers on the street think I look great because I get asked where I get my haircut all the time. My only regret is that I didn't meet Donna sooner. Not just because my hair looks great but because the other recommendations she made for me.

I have lived in New York City for 10 years and I have tried out almost all of the top salons. I cannot begin to tell you what a relief it has been finding Eva Scrivo! The atmosphere couldn't be better - spacious, relaxing. I was actually seen on time! And the stylists and assistants are WONDERFUL. You cannot beat the value of their service for the price. I just had the most amazing experience, and i can't believe i'm saying that about a hair experience. I saw Donna and she blew my mind. I recently came here for the first time to get my hair colored and cut. I'm now in love with the salon and the staff! I've been going uptown from the West Village for years for my hair. I can't believe that I've been spending all this time commuting and paying over $300 for haircuts when this gem has been just around the corner from my home! I wish I would have discovered it sooner. The quality of the work here is higher than at any uptown salon I've been to, and everyone is so warm and friendly - something that I've never before experienced in other celebrity-owned salons. I had my color with Mira and cut with Eva (I tried to schedule both with Eva but she was booked, and Mira turned out to be amazing with blond highlights). My hair never looked so great!

In search of the perfect cut and color, I went to 3 different salons in my neighborhood, the Meatpacking District. I finally found perfection at Eva's salon. She managed to straighten out the mess I brought to her with truly beautiful color and then she gave me the best haircut I've ever had. No matter how muc I neglect my hair, somehow it always hangs right- it's because of the cut...just perfect.

I had my hair cut with Antonio this week and absolutely love it. The salon was relaxing and friendly and would highly recommend it. Antonio is friendly, informative and skillful and I think he is definitely a "keeper" in my opinion. He took me on time and I was in and out in an hour. Daniel Rechelbacher, a stylist at Eva Scrivo, is brilliant! He gave me a haircut that looks presentable for all types of jobs but also has a certain chic that is great for going out clubbing or to a party. It's very trendy but posseses a timeless quality. Plus, I can put it up in a french twist or many other up-dos. I think this is the best haircut I've EVER had!

go to this salon if you are looking for some major pampering and a great cut. i ust got my hair cut here today for the first time and i am so pleased w/ my experience. as long as i still have money i will definitely go back, as it is a little pricey ($90). i saw antonio and thought he was fabulous. he is just what the perfect hair stylist should be--nice, smart, patient, creative, and skilled. and although i can't really recommend anyone else but him, i was impressed by what the other stylists at the salon were doing.

Eva Scrivo is the best stylist ever! Not only is the salon stunning, Eva listened to my concerns for my hair (which are numerous) and worked with me to achieve what is the BEST cut, color, and style I have ever had.
