I stopped someone at the mall and ask her who did her hair, it was so pretty. She said Paul at Steve Hightowers. I called and got an appointment the next week. Paul talk to me about what I wanted and what he would like to do, so I said ok. Paul colored and highlighted my hair then cut it. I was introduced to David the massage therapist and got the best massage I have ever gotten. Before I got the massage they put a conditioning treatment on my hair. When I got finished with the massage they rinsed out the treatment and Paul finished my hair. I felt and looked incredible. I stopped at a store on the way home and someone ask me who did my hair!! I have not had that ask in years. Thank you Paul and David for making me look and feel great. I will be back every four week for the same thing.

I have been a client of Steve Hightower's for the past 2 1/2 years and must say that he and his staff make it fun to get your hair and beauty services done! Steve takes such pride in making all of his clients look and feel beautiful. Steve traveled to Florida for my wedding and single-handed did my hair, my mother's hair and all the bridesmaids - everyone looked stunning and was so impressed at his talent. I have had a massage, facial and my nails done at his salon and they have all been top-notch. Do yourself a favor and give Steve Hightower Salon a try - you won't regret it!

Steve Hightower gave me the best cut I have ever had. EVER. Many friends go to the salon and to different stylists and they all have great hair...this salon has amazing talent. Steve enabled me to go without product from shower to door, if I choose, due to the careful layered cut he gave me. I have had two people stop me to ask about my hair since Steve cut it. I am a devotee now to the Hightower haircut!!!!!!

I had an awful cut and color at another salon. Steve and Brian have made me look and feel better than I have in years.

Consulted with Steve, then Brian did great things with my color. Steve gave me a cut that looks great even when I do it at home.

Now people are asking me who does my hair for the right reasons.

I overheard raves from others about the body services and I am treating myself to massage and facial next visit.

So glad I found this place.

I went to this salon after a coworker told me how she love it. Her hair did look great. I call the salon and went in afer work the next week. From the time I enter the salon everyone there was so nice to me. The hairdressers name was Paul and he was so nice. He talked to me about what I liked and did not like about my hair then he took me over to another room and put the color on. It was a new color that has no smell or ammonia. He ask me if I would like to get a facial or massage while my color processed. I did not know I could do that, so I got a massage. His name was David and his hands were great.
When Paul was finished with my hair I was in shock. I have never seen my hair look so pretty and it shined like it never has before.
My husband loved my hair and he never says a word about my hair other then "how much did that cost." The cost of my service was no were near what I expected it would be. It was much less!! Yes less.
Paul and the staff in this salon is what I have looked for in this city for a long time. I am so glad I have found this salon. Go you will LOVE it.

I have been going to Salons in South Beach (Miami Beach),FL for many years. Now that I am visiting my daughter here in Atlanta more often, I have found the perfect Salon at Steve Hightower Hair Artist Studio. He is professional,artistic and makes you feel at home without that trendy salon attitude. My hair has never looked so natural until I started going to Steve Hightower Hair Artist Studio. I moved from S. Florida eight months ago and was scared to try a new stylist after going to the same person for ten years. Then...I found Steve Hightower's!! It is a full service salon. They carry a great professional line of products for fine hair as well. I've had the pleasure to work with at least five people so far and all are professional and their work is superb.

Services I've used:

Steve - Hair cut - best cuts for my fine hair. Steve has me wearing a style that is a little shorter than when I first came to him but it is so much fun and works very well with my face and hair type. It is also very easy to style and maintain.

Brian - Color - I have been extremely happy with his advice and coloring. I will continue going to Brian and Steve for my hair care. They are fantastic.

Garri - Bridal updo - I went in for a trial run and was sold. I absolutely loved her work. The updo was very artistic and beautiful. My husband also goes to her for his cuts.

Karen - Bridal Makeup - I hesitated whether or not I would let someone do my makeup for the wedding. The same day I went in for my bridal updo trial run, I also let Karen do a trial run with my make-up. Again, I was sold. She even gave me a little tip I use on my brows daily.

Maria - I had a manicure with Maria and was very happy with it. She also uses a quick dry that was great. I purchase it now from her for my home use. It works just as well as Seche Vite but without the harmful odors. It is free of formaldehyde, toluene and BBP's.

Here's the back story. I'm driving down the block and see this HOT mom with super chic hair jogging with her kiddo. I'm telling you, it's the kind of hair that's so remarkable that it makes you do something stupid like pull over and start yelling, "Hey lady! You look great! I'd totally date you but I'm married and so are you and since we can't be together I must have the name of your stylist!" I'm just saying. Anyway, when she realized I wasn't having a psychotic episode she said she goes to "The Man" and that man is none other than Steve Hightower. I thanked her and let her step out of the hedges and get back to running. I promptly booked an appointment ONLINE. How cool is that?

I had full foil color and the salon took the time to do it right, since they had to color correct the damage done by the last stylist, whose name shall not pass my lips but rhymes with James in the Raw. After the color was perfected, I met The Man. He asked me questions about my personality and lifestyle, the type of work I did, what I wanted. He looked at my face, bone structure, and offered some brill advice and then cut my hair in, oh, 15 minutes. Perfect. Nailed it. Performance art, hello!

So here's the dealio. You can cheap out at Aveda Institute and sit there for 3 hours while a student tries to trim your bangs or go to Toni & Guy and get the same craptastic razored look that only works on Shane from the L Word, or you can value your time and money and go to a real professional who will work with your face, your lifestyle, your personal energy and get you out of the salon in time to go meet your favorite hot mom (or dad, whatever) for a drink and feel like you got it goin' on again.

I say bring sexyback!

Steve is an artist with amazing vision. His talent ranks way above your average hairstylist! I took myself and my best friend for an "image update" and we made a pact to go with whatever he recommended. We have very different hair textures and looks but neither of us are willing to spend more than a few minutes on our hair. My color and cut are amazing--my all-time favorite. I've been told by friends, strangers and my grandson that I look like a rock star. My best friend is a redhead for the first time in her 57 years and looks 10 years younger. Steve is really great at listening to what you want and what you are willing to do--and what your lifestyle is--and then coming up with an image idea. His ability to match skin tone to hair color and cut to lifestyle and face is nothing short of miraculously fabulous. I highly recommend him to anyone and everyone. We had a blast and I will go back for life.

It took 30+ years and Steve Hightower to get my hair to do what I've wanted it to do. I finally have a look and style I can go home and replicate! Steve and his staff make me feel so welcome and at home when I'm at his salon. They are also very knowledgable about every one of the products they sell.
I absolutely love my style and color and highly recommend David Whaley for a massage. He quickly puts you to sleep! And for me, that's a good thing.
I have also gotten so many compliments on my hair and how it suits me and my personality. I can only thank Steve for all those and recommend you entrust your personality with Steve and David.

Not only can you get an amazing haircut and color at Steve's hair studio but you can get the most amazing massage from David Whaley. I mean AMAZING! I could barely walk into the studio last Thursday and left feeling more relief than I had felt in days. I have gotten many massages from David and what is so unique is he caters to your body on how your body is feeling. He does not have a standard massage but rather can tell what your body needs and addresses it. I do not know how David does what he does but I am here to tell you it is an amazing gift!

I have just gotten my hair done by Steve Hightower for the second time and I would be remiss to not give credit where credit is due.
Over the years, I have gotten my hair colored several times but I usually do not end up with what I envision. I must say that Steve and his colorist, Brian, listened intently to my particular wants and did an outstanding job. I am totally happy with my "Summer Wheat".
I am also overjoyed with my cut. I must say that I have been in a bit of a hair rut and Steve consulted me to do something different than I had been doing. I totally love it and would trust his instincts anytime he offers them.

After finding Steve on Citysearch, I called to make an appointment, just hoping I could see anyone that day. To my surprise, Steve was free! I went to see him as a new client on Election Day, and I was so impressed! He spent so much time with me and gave me a great haircut! I've gotten 8 compliments from other teachers (call me crazy-but I kept track! It had been so long that anyone had even noticed my hair! Or at least mentioned it to me! LOL!)
My hair is thinning and color-treated (I'm not ready to be totally gray yet!) He even liked the color that I had dyed it. (I've had other stylists who insisted that home dye jobs always looked terrible. I had to wonder if they just wanted more money to dye my hair in their salon.) Not Steve. He gave me a style that uses my natural curl to make my hair look thicker and that I can replicate. I did buy Therapro and the conditioning system. Both have made a big difference in my hair. I intend to buy more products as a Christmas gift to myself.
To top it off, I was given a complimentary makeup touch-up by Karen. I felt so pampered, and she didn't give me a hard sell to buy any products.
The salon's decor is very lush and serene. Everyone was nice and I didn't feel rushed. The price for the initial consultation and service was very reasonable. I'll be back.

So, I followed my stylist to Steve Hightower Hair Artist's Studio, and I couldn't be happier.

First, I love Eric. He's been styling my hair for a couple of years now, and I will follow him anywhere for a number of reasons. First, he listens. No, I mean, he REALLY listens. He works with me to achieve the look I want, and he is honest with me about what needs to be done with my hair to get it there. I have never left his talented hands anything but thrilled with my hair, and I get compliments on it all the time. My hair is currently styled in an edgy bob, just at chin length. Whether you are looking for a clean, classic cut or for something a little more modern, Eric can do it. Another reason that I love Eric is that cutting and coloring hair is his passion. He's a perfectionist, and he is always pursuing more knowledge and learning skills that can enhance his talent. You'd have to ask him all the amazing places he's studied and who with, but the man should have a Phd in hair at this point. He's had more schooling and experience than some doctors I know! I admire this sort of ambition and committment in anyone, but it certainly is a quality I'd want in someone who gets close to my hair with a pair of scissors. Finally, I love that Eric will talk if I want to talk, or if I prefer, let me zone out and relax. (I've been know to fall asleep when he cuts my hair. This is how much I love this guy.) I've never written a review before; I am writing this one because Eric recently moved to this salon; people should know.

The salon itself: Love it. Really beautiful decor, free parking, and a friendly and attentive staff that never gives you attitude. As for prices, I think they are more than fair. Depending on your stylist's experience, there will be a price range. You will pay a fair price for an excellent cut and style. Completely worth it. And if you can see him, see Eric! (But don't make it hard for me to get an appointment with him!)

I have looked all over this city for the right color and cut. I went to Steve Hightower Hair and loved every thing that was done to me. Brain did my color after he and Steve talked to me about what I wanted and what they saw me with. I told them both to do what they wanted to do, I need a change. Steve then cut me and it is the best cut I have ever had. One of the best things is I can make it look like he did. Steve went over what I was using at home and explained to me why some worked for me and some did not. I got what he used on me and I just love the products. I never thought products really made such a difference, but they really do. I will be back in 4 weeks. Loved every thing. Go there you will to.

Went to salon for the first time. From the time I entered the salon, I was made to feel like a queen. Everyone so professional, wonderful and fun. I had made a mess of my hair and they just went to work to fix it. From the hair colorist, to the skin specialist, to Steve himself doing my hair, I had such a great time. I can't wait to go again. If you are looking for the total package in a salon, I can't recommend this one more highly!

I was very disappointed with my first trip to Steve Hightower. As a young woman, facing the fact that your hair is falling out is extremely scary. I was nervous but hopeful he might have some answers, at least for how to disguise thinning hair on top of my head. After reading all of these reviews touting his personalized service, I was expecting more of a "consultation" than what I got: a 90-second sales pitch for an unproven hair-growth spray and a few seconds to recommend a hair style. No conversation, just, "How about this? All right? Okay." Still, I was willing to take his advice and let myself be amazed by the outcome. I was only amazed by how little care he seemed to put into my haircut and how quickly he rushed me out. I wanted a new look that would make me feel less bad about my hair thinning: I got a satisfactory trim for $90. He spent a total of two minutes cutting my hair, and that is not an exaggeration. My hair looks fine, but not anything special that you wouldn't see coming out of GreatClips. I have no new tips for how to wear my hair or style it in different ways, only a huge sense of regret that I wasted my time and money. (although not TOO much time). I wish I hadn't been too shy and disappointed to tell him so in person. I left feeling like I have to now go get a real haircut. I will not be going back to someone who barely has two minutes to consider what I might want to look like.

On the plus side, everyone else was very nice, and the decoupage floor in the back room is gorgeous. Not enough to get me to go back there for a haircut.

I never cease to be amazed by this guy! He can really cut hair and takes the time to do it right. In 25 years, I have found two people that really know how to cut my hair...and Arthur is one of them. I live in Chattanooga and have to drive to Atlanta or Birmingham for a great haircut...and I just have to accept that fact. I have curly, fine and thick hair...and it is not easily tamed by me or anyone else, but Arthur sure knows how to work magic. I can tell how well my hair has been cut by how it handles when I do not have time to blow-dry...and if the cut is great, I can get by. Every time Arthur has cut my hair...I have been very pleased. I am so pleased with his talent that I brought a friend that was visiting from El Paso with me to have him cut and style her hair. She was very impressed at how much time he took to get her hair just right...and his attention to detail. Her hair is straight, fine, thick and long....and it looked fantastic when he finished. I sat and watched him cut her hair in utter amazement...it was like watching a painter with his canvas.
The only thing left to say is....what in the world are you waiting for??? This guy is great...hurry and get an appointment before his book is scheduled out for months!!! :)

Have no fear, Arthur is here! My hair was in total despair! Over dyed, highlighted, and cut... you name it I had it! Since my hair is thin, I thought I would never get my mop under control. Once Arthur starting cutting my hair he restored my hair to beautiful locks. Not only can he cut hair immaculately, he understands hair and how to treat it to make it healthy. I love his color expertise too. Before going to Arthur, nobody ever commented me on my hair, and now people are always asking me... "who cuts your hair, it looks GREAT!" The salon is wonderful too. Not only can I get my hair cut, I can get my eyebrows waxed and nails done too! Give Arthur a try, your hair will thank you!

Arthur has been my stylist for about 5 years now and I have to say I have NEVER been disappointed. The word ?articulate? always comes to mind when I think of his haircuts. His attention to detail is amazing, I always love the look I leave with and get compliments all the time. Probably the best haircut I've ever had I came from Steve Hightower. After researching him on the web and then meeting him in person, I immediately recognized his artistic talent. As he and I talked about my lifestyle and the style/maintenance I was looking for in a haircut, he looked at the shape of my face and explained why I should have a certain type of cut, length, layers, etc. I also explained that I had been experiencing accelerated hair loss and he was very informative as to what might be causing it and how to work with it. All of this knowledge and Steve's easy manner really gave me confidence in him. This was someone I knew I could trust-carte blanche-to do what he does best and know I'd end up looking great. Well I did trust him, ended up with fantastic-looking hair, and it still looks fantastic. I waited a month before writing this review just to see if my hair would be as easy for me to care for and look as great as the day I walked out of the salon. It is and it does. Needless to say I will be going back. Steve, you are a true master of your craft. Thank you.

I first went to Steve because I was very unhappy with the condition of my hair. I researched salons online and liked what I read about Steve. His salon is an hour away from my house, and I would gladly drive the distance to receive the service that I have consistently received at his salon. I honesly can not imagine anyone leaving his salon unhappy. Everyone is nice, and very professional. My hair looks great, and I will continue to go to Steve, and his assistant Brian. Thanks guys.

I first went to the salon as I "thought" that I have always heard good things about it. My day of apponintments were NOT on schedule by any means. EVERYTHING that I had requested was NOT done to my specifications, even upon voicing my concern, nothing changed. Needless to say most of the staff was very, very nice which was a pleasure, but, none of that means a thing if you wind up with poor services. I felt as if there was such lack of knowledge, education and what is truely best for the client. I have been in the business for many years as an owner and educator (since retired) and I have never encountered a situation quite like this. I think it is important that people reading this have an oppportunity to decide for themselves based on (1) " not so good" rating if this is the place for them to patronize. Also, beware of a Stylist that has given himself a "global rating" and is willing to tell his clients that!

I highly recommend to all women who very picky about the color of their hair. The drive from Panama City, Florida to Atlanta was worth it. Make sure to plan a day for this visit because you will be pampered. The spa, facial, and haircut.... the whole experience was worth it. While browsing thru a magazine here in Marietta, I read an article on Steve Hightower and his specialty in working with women with thinning hair. I was somewhat skeptical, but I made an appointment to see what could be done. WOW! I had long blond hair (colored) which I wore up all the time in an attempt to conceal the thinness. I literally put my fate in Steve's hands and allowed him to do whatever he thought would be best for me. He cut my hair and donated it to Locks for Love, which thrilled me! He took me back to my original color (light brown) and gave me a short sassy style which does indeed help minimize the thin appearance. He also introduced me to new products which actually help the hair grow back. They are easy to use and I am sure I will see positive results soon. Steve and his entire staff made me feel welcome and it was a great first time experience! I highly recommend Steve for anyone with thinning hair. You will walk out with a new attitude!! I am booking my next appointment now and can't wait!! By the way......I got tons of compliments....many saying how much younger I look!! Thanks Steve!!!

I found Steve Hightower's salon while searching the web for a wig to wear when my hair falls out due to chemotherapy. As many of you can see I was very distraught with the thought of loosing my hair. My chemo began on Monday and Steve and his staff was able to work me in the same week. I was exhausted from the chemo, but when I entered the salon everything seemed a little easier to handle. He and his staff were so compasionate and seemed to know exactly how to help me feel better about what I was going through. He quickly cut my hair so that I could actually wash it without becoming completely exhausted. He also suggested some products that may actually help keep it from falling out and help me pick out a couple of wigs that matched my current style and color. I'm looking forward to my next experience in this charming salon, which will probably be picking up the wigs. My daughter drove me to my appointment and was so impressed with the way they took care of me, she made herself an appointment for hair care. Hopefully if you are experiencing hair loss or just want to look your absolute best you will feel as comfortable as I did at Steve Hightower's Salon.

I found Steve through a friend after being diagnosed with breast cancer. What a godsend that discovery was!!! Steve helped me pick out two awesome wigs that I have gotten numerous compliments on (mind you the compliments are on my new hair cut with the folks giving them having NO idea it was actually a wig). Steve and his team have also shown unbelievable compassion and sensitivity to me during this process by "working me in" to Steve's schedule numerous times to help with the wigs (fittings, stylings etc..) as well as offering to come in on a day off to cut my hair when it started falling out. Words do not adequately express my gratitude to Steve and Billy and how much easier they made loosing my hair and chemo with being so sweet.

I can't wait to have enough hair back to be back for a real cut!! :-)

I had my lingerie/bridal shower at the Steve Hightower salon and it was wonderful. It exceeded all of my expectations. All of the treatments we had were excellent, and the staff was so very nice and accommodating. We also had food catered at the salon and it was phenomenal. A friend refered me to the salon after I had a horrible experience at another Buckhead salon. I was impressed from the moment I walked in the door and saw the receptionist wearing a tie! The haircut I received was the best I've ever gotten. I don't write reviews for very many people, but this place gave me exactly what I wanted and had been looking for. I would most definitely recommend this little hotspot to anyone. In fact, I refered my own mother. She came in two days ago for high-lights and a cut. She is now a loyal customer too.

I was first referred to the salon for "energy work." I was not familiar with this, but I'd trust in the opinion of the person who sent me. I am so glad that I tried it! It gave me a deep sense of relaxation, relieving my stress and even leaving me feeling physically better. I could not have been more pleasantly surprised. After I had a hair disaster at another salon, it was only logical for me to try out those services at Steve Hightower. I have sensitive skin, and almost always suffer from burning or itching on my scalp during color treatments. This was the first time that I have felt nothing, and I mean absolutely nothing, on my scalp. I was shocked and thrilled. Then I started having facials and tried the Repechage product line. My skin loved it and felt incredibly soft. Since then, I have become a regular and gotten to know many of the professionals at the salon. In addition to respecting their wonderful talents, I have also come to enjoy them as people. They make every visit feel like a real treat and like each individual client is a special visitor. I know when I'm there that I am in good hands and can trust the experts. The salon environment is very refreshing and artistic. This style carries over to the smallest details: if you like water, it is served to you and decorative crystal wine glasses. Steve and some of his staff periodically work out of New York and Sea Island. I was impressed when I discovered that he had been the official hairdresser for the G8 Summit on Sea Island. Yes, my stylist has also served the First Ladies of the United States and Russia. Talk about something to make you feel special... Also, I have had friends and family come from Birmingham and Macon to use the salon and spa services. They have consistently raved as well. It has taken me almost eight years to find a salon in Atlanta that I'm happy with. I look forward to a long relationship with Steve and his team.

I've been going for 11 years and recommend it to all my friends, whether they have thin hair (which Steve can do wonders for!!) or thick hair that needs taming (like mine!) Everyone in the salon is friendly, and there's none of the typical "I'm too cool for you" attitude I used to run into at other salons....just nice, super-talented people who will bend over backwards to make your experience a good one....and will make you look (and feel) terrific when you walk out the door. I've seen Steve do more than one dramatic makeover, too - it's incredible (and exciting!!) what he can do!! Highly recommend you check it out.

Pros: Owner is "hands on" and listens - wants to make sure it's a great experience for clients

Cons: Doesn't have more locations for us poor souls who have to drive 20 miles to Lindbergh (but who would drive 50 m if need be!)

On Tuesday I went to Steve Hightower Hair Artist Studio. From the moment I walk into the salon, I had a very enjoyable experience. The reseptionist ask if it was my first time at the salon. When I told him it was my first time, he took time to give me a little tour and went over the services that they offered. WOW!!! I am not from Atlanta and was staying at The Ritz-Carlton. I am so glad that they recomended this little hot spot. I'm in Atlanta about every three months will be making an apointment everytime I come back.
