I am not the type of person who writes reviews, but I am so grateful to Dr. Schmidt for helping me smile again. I've always had a terrible fear of dentists, and as a result, I neglected my teeth. I am a successful person, but knowing that my mouth was in horrible condition was like a heavy weight on my mind and interfered with my quality of life. I found Dr. schmidt through the recommendation of a colleague, so I went for a consultation. The office is beautiful and clean. The staff is friendly and efficient. My treatment consisted of several implants and many crowns, but the effect it has had on my life is beyond words. I consider Dr. Schmidt to be a friend but I also have a tremendous amount of respect for her professionalism and ability to change lives. Thank You Dr. Schmidt,

I have been a patient of Dr. Schmidt for about 2 years and have had extensive work done (veneers, crowns, implants). Dr. Schmidt's superior level of knowledge, technical excellence and artistic sense has given me the kind of results I could have only wished for- very natural-looking smile and never-ending compliments from people. Her attention to details, care and concern for my well being were outstanding. Superb service. Modern and spotless office. Highly recommended.

Dr. Z is one of a kind!! & his office is made up of some of the most caring & gentle people I have come to know whilst being in NYC. I am from South Africa, but living in NYC as a model. Until meeting him and his colleagues, I had always avoided going to the dentist, as I HAD a terrible fear, which began as a child. I never faced it, until on a flight back to the states after a job, I felt my tooth start to ache so badly, I knew I had to see one, so when I got back I googled Dentist that do I.V sedation in NYC, as I knew this would be the only way I would have a procedure. After reading many testimonials, viewing the website & seeing pictures of his office, I could tell it offered a calming ambience & didn't come across as a cold dentistry office. I called to make an appointment. On the day of it everyone was so kind & could tell I was so nervous so spoke to me in such a way that it lifted my spirits and made me relax. It turned out I needed a root canal. Dr Z. kept his promise to me and never began anything till I was completely relaxed, he gave me beautiful calming music to listen to & then the I.V sedation. I never felt a thing! :) I was amazed, and NO swelling the next day!!! He is the BEST!! :)

Dr. Zelig did 2 implants in order to create a 3-tooth bridge. I was a little nervous about the procedure and he put me at ease saying that it "was a piece of cake". Well, it was better than a piece of cake -- now I can chew anything on it, and not worry about breaking a tooth. They are stronger than your regular teeth. First of all, there was absolutely no pain involved in placing the implants, my face never swelled, I never became black and blue -- I just carried on right after and even went back to work. Dr. Zelig is the sweetest, most caring dentist you will ever have the pleasure of meeting. If you need implants -- DR. ZELIG IS THE ONE TO SEE!!!! Dr. Zelig and Dr. Schmidt work so well together -- Dr. Zelig places the implant, then Dr. Schmidt builds a tooth or bridge on top of it -- all of this in the same office -- It's very convenient. If you're like me - and are apprehensive about having implants -- there's nothing to fear -- they feel perfectly natural and are very strong. Try Drs. Zelig and Schmidt at Smile in the City -- even for a consultatation and you'll understand why I feel so strongly about my review.

I have recently had several lumineers placed by Dr. Schmidt. The results are fantastic. Dr. Schmidt is a perfectionist and clearly very skilled. I also had a laser cleaning and basic check-up. I was impressed with the friendly environment and state-of-the-art equipment. I strongly recommend Smile in the City.

I have always been terrified of dentists so I simply let my mouth and teeth get out-of-hand. Finally, I realized that my teeth problems were interfering with my quality of life and I knew it was time to finally take care of my teeth. I carefully researched various dentists in NY and chose to come to Smile in the City because of their specialty training and credentials. I also knew that if I was to survive, I needed to be sedated for the procedures. Now, my extensive treatment is complete. I no longer fear going to the dentist and my self-esteem had improved along with the appearance of my smile. I regret waiting this long, but I am so happy that I came here.

Pros: IV Sedation, relaxing environment, excellent dentistry

Cons: The cost is not cheap, but their financing plan made it affordable.

I have survived 31 years of life without any cavities. So after beating cancer, I wasn't prepared for the chemotherapy to do a number on my teeth and cause quite a few cavities. To make a long story short, I was a basketcase, and the entire staff comforted me and made me feel completely normal. I am able to smile and I am very happy. I am scared of needles, and I can guarantee the only pain experienced their was no pain experienced the whole treatment.

I had a bad experience with my former dentist that resulted in the lost of one of my 2 front teeth. When I asked how he was going to replace my tooth he gave two options I was unsatisfied with:

a four tooth bridge that would damage three healthy teeth
a removable denture that I would have to take when I eat and sleep

Because I'm not an old man, (I'm 26) and this guy took forever to file my claims, looked into dental implants. After doing my research I was impressed with the professionalism at Smile in the City. Everyone was kind and courteous. Dr. Zelig and Dr Nargiz made this as painless and quick as possible. I received a full load dental implant back in June with a temporary crown attached to it as a gum graft. I recently received my final crown last week. The only pain I really felt was the removal of my suttres. And I've had pinches that hurt more. Know one knows I've had this done thats how good of a job they did.

Thanks to these two I can eat in public without being self conscious and I can smile again. I highly recommend them and I will be going back to them in the future should the need arise.

If you are accustomed to quality, luxury and comfort, then you'd definitely appreciate Dr. Schmidt, Dr. Zelig as well the entire Smile in the City dental group. Dr. Schmidt gave me the most beautiful smile I've ever dreamed of. She redid my veneers that were placed by a "high-profile" general dentist 3 years ago. The main problem with poorly placed veneers is that they don't look like your natural teeth, more like dentures. I was referred to Dr. Schmidt by one of my close friends who assured me that she was the best dentist in the City. I was a little skeptical at first because she looked quite young in her website picture (in fact she is 36), and I usually prefer specialists in their 40s. I became more enthusiastic, once I learned that Dr. Schmidt had a training as prosthodontist, a specialist in cosmetic and restorative dentistry. But the result surpassed all of my expectations. Not only is she a top professional in her field, she is also warm, caring and incredibly patient. And when you see a perfectly natural, dazzling smile of yours in a mirror, you think it was just a miracle. Although the fees are not cheap (how can you expect to get a first-class service in NYC at a low cost?), they are quite reasonable (in comparison, my previous "high-profile" dentist charged $2,100 for one veneer, which was totally outrageous). THANK YOU, DR. SCHMIDT! THANK YOU, SMILE IN THE CITY!

Ever since I was a child, I suffered from discoloration on my teeth. The problem only got worse as I continued to grow up and as such, so did my self-consciousness of them as well. My self-consciousness was only fueled by friends and family members who would openly ask me ?What is wrong with your teeth?? Every time this would happen, I would routinely schedule a consultation with a local dentist to discuss the options to fix the appearance of my teeth, and time and time again, the answer was veneers. I never did go through with the procedure by the advice of my childhood dentist who said that my teeth were too sensitive to have veneers and would always suffer from pain.

After two decades of searching, I discovered Lumineers and more importantly, Dr. Schmidt and the staff of Smile in the City. They took their time to explain all of the options and how everything worked and made sure that all of my questions were constantly answered. Dr. Schmidt?s attention to detail has provided me with the smile I have always dreamed of. Unlike other dentists who provide the Lumineers procedure, Dr. Schmidt analyzes your mouth and facial structure to provide you with the best results possible.

Since Lumineers, people no longer ask me what is wrong with my teeth, but rather ?What did you do to make them so PERFECT!? My only regret is that I didn?t do this sooner. Thank you Dr. Schmidt and Smile in the City.

Smile in the City is a very professional and friendly dental office. The staff is very welcoming, well informed, as well as acommodating. Dr. Schmidt was the dental specialist that took care of my case. I had a small gap in my front teeth and opted for lumineers. Dr. Schmidt also has photos of her patients with before/after photos, so if I were you I'd ask to see them. If you're nervous about her work, it will ease you fears because the book really will help you see the difference and just how good she is. As a matter of fact, you''ll now see my before/after photos in there as well!
She answered all my questions and once I had decided to get them, she booked me into her schedule as soon as possible ( within the week).

Two short visits (under 90 mins) and I had a new smile! For anyone who is looking for a better smile minus the pain, hassle, and time, I would highly recommend getting Lumineers ...especially by Dr. Schmidt!
It's been a few months and I am thankful for my better smile every passing day

Like so many people, I was nervous and a little worried about getting dental work done. Dr. Schmidt and the calming, friendly staff made me feel so comfortable! I am so happy to have found this wonderful group of professionals. This is a great office where they actually seem to care about you and the outcome. Dr. Schmidt was one of the most gentle dentists I have ever come across. She is really great at what she does. I would really recommend this place who needs any dental work, from basic cleaning to complete veneers. I had six veneers put on my bottom teeth and they look fantastic. I am very happy with the outcome and my new teeth! This was truley one of the greatest dental experiences I have ever had. And I was comfortable the whole time! Anyone should feel comfortable trusting their mouth to this amazing staff.

I was looking to invest in veneers, a costly and intimidating experience. I searched around to find the perfect dentist. From the moment I had a FREE consultation at Smile in the City, I knew this was where I wanted the work to be done. The offices and equipment are cutting edge and the dentists are incredibly talented and devoted. All my concerns were answered, and I felt sincerely cared for by the entire staff. Not having any dental insurance, I was worried about the payment policies. I received immediate approval for an interest free loan that allowed me to proceed with the procedure. Dr. Schmidt has given me the smile I have always dreamed about. I couldn't be more happy with my experience at Smile in the City and I highly recommend joining their family of patients.

Dr. Schmdt and Dr. Zelig are truly masters of advanced dentistry. My mouth was a mess. I originally had a removable denture to replace my bottom back teeth, and my front teeth were in bad shape. Dr. Zelig placed 4 implants on the bottom to support 6 teeth, and I got 6 lumineers on my front teeth.The results are amazing. I can't express how much this has changed my self-esteem. I can eat anything I want and I can't stop smiling! Thanks guys!

I've been to 2 "implant gurus" in NYC and they both said that I was not a candidate for dental implants. My friend recommended "Smile in the City" and Dr. Zelig was able to successfully place implants. He is very skilled and talented at what he does, and he is also a great guy. The office is run very well and efficiently, with a great friendly team of assistants and staff.

Before coming to Smile in the City, I felt very self-conscious about smiling. My teeth were too short and every time I would smile, there would be a lot of gum showing. I was embarrassed and tried to hide it all the time. But my self-esteem changed drastically after I visited Dr. Zelig and Dr. Schmidt. I had a complex problem. All my upper teeth were very loose due to gum disease and I needed dental implants. I had been to many specialists for estimates and consultations. I decided to go with Drs. Zelig & Schmidt because of their experience in treating my type of problem, and their friendly environment and bed-side manner. I received 8 implants and recently received the final bridge. The doctors & staff treated me like a VIP and the treatment I received was world-class. These guys are real pros, and their fees were very reasonable. If you need a team of specialists, I highly recommend you visit them. -Jim Fox
