My experience with Redline Movers has left a bit of a bad taste in my mouth. To be honest, I feel a bit taken advantage of. Here is what happened; I booked them to do my move, and worked out the pricing with Sean via email. In one of the emails he expressed that he could wrap in the travel time with the hourly rate. I was given an estimate for a 4 hour move, and because of the amount of stuff I had I knew it wouldn?t take more then that. Great!!
Once the movers arrived they had some problems with parking in front of my building with the police, so they had to park around the block which in turn, made it take a bit longer for the movers to load up the truck, but I knew I would still fall within the four hour original estimate. Once everything was loaded the ?foreman? informed me of the cost and told me there would be an additional $150 charge for travel time, in which I informed him that I was told there would be no travel time charges, he then said he could drop it to $75, and when I refused, (I had the email to back it up), he said he would call the boss and if there was a problem he would let me know. He also said that while tips weren?t expected, they were appreciated.
We all left the apartment to go to my new place at the same time. I stopped at a store first, and caught a cab. The movers did not arrive until 45 minutes AFTER me which is extremely odd because we left at the same time. So in the end they ended up charging me an extra $150, not for travel time, but for an additional hour, because it took them longer to get to my place then anticipated. Way to pad the bill- I guess no matter how they had to word it, they were going to get that extra $150 out of me.
Another thing, I tipped the foreman $100 to split amongst him and the guys. When I gave it to him I said ?I am sorry that it can?t be more but I wasn?t expecting any additional charges? he scowled, and I said ?is this not enough?? and he replied with ?it would be nice if it were more, but I understand times are tough? HELLO? I thought tips were ?appreciated? and not expected. At that moment I wanted nothing more then to take that $100 back.
And to top it off, they forget to give me part of my bed frame. They returned it 2 days later, so I had to go without any bed.
Sigh.

When Kieran the estimator arrived to discuss our move, we found him friendly, curteous and he answered all our queries in a honest and comprehensive manner. Ther movers arrived the following week and were amazingly fast and efficient, yet extremely careful. The move was done under the estimate and nothing was damaged in any way. My wife and I felt relaxed the whole day and would highly recommend Redline moving.

My wife and I used Redline to move from an alcove studio in downtown NYC to a one-bedroom in Battery Park City. In sum, the Redline movers, as well as Shane, its president who booked the move for us, were flawless. Nothing was broken, the movers were courteous, and the movers also really worked hard and were very efficient and effective. The movers were also very nice too. What is more, my wife and I contacted Redline only TWO days before our move as we realized we could not use the mover we previously had booked. Redline, through Shane its president, was able to assist. If you want a move where you get A+ service and results, then chose Redline. Also, lastly, there were no hidden charges. I would recommend them and also use them again in the future.

I have always moved myself with help from my brothers up until now. I was all grown up hiring professional movers, and with a referral from work, hiring Redline. The guys were so nice (I loved Simon the Kiwi.). Everyone was great, they all worked very hard and the day was a breeze. Who said moving is difficult?

My recent move was a breeze this time around. I went with Redline after hearing good things from a friend of mine from work. The crew showed up on time & worked at an impressive pace. They were fun to be around & more importantly they were very good movers. No items were broken or scratched. They didn?t waste time & all around it was a very easy move for me. Also as a side note, they did get a parking ticket in which I saw & when I asked if I would have to pay for it, they said no that it was their ticket not mine. I agree, but my last move the movers did charge me for one. Also my Super came up to me after the move & said he was impressed with these guys.

I called Redline when i needed to move my 2 bedroom apt. They wrapped up all the furniture and packed up my old grandfather clock safely and quickly. We were in my new place in a matter of hours. It was the smoothest move i have ever had. Everything arrived in perfect condition. The guys were friendly and courteous which really makes a difference. This is the best moving company in New York

Having been thru big moves from New Zealand and many smaller one's around Jersey and New York , my last move with Redline was as sweet as they come. The guys were friendly and treated my stuff like it was their own. It felt like I had my family moving me. The price was great and I will recomend these guys over all the company's i've used in the past. Awesome job guys , you really took the stress out of my move, thanks

I have moved ALOT in manhattan, and most recently to Long Island, Redline movers really impressed me with their professionalism and friendly service. The price was great, nothing got broken or misplaced (you wouldnt believe how many movers break things!!) I would definitely recommend them. The owner Shane really made us feel like family.

I just used John and his crew at Redline Moving for my 12/2/06 move. I can't say enough great things about these guys. Their customer service and professionalism were amazing. With only 4 days notice, they pushed my moving date back a day without hesitation They showed up exactly at 9 am and moved at lightening speed, literally running up the stairs of my 4th floor walk-up two at a time, while still paying extra attention to carefully move my boxes and wrap all my furniture. They were like sherpas climbing Mount Everest! All my stuff arrived without a scratch, dent, or mark on it and there were no hidden costs or parking tickets. All three of them were funny, polite, and conscientious. I actually didn't know you could get service like this in NYC. I have already recommended Redline to multiple people and would not hesitate to use them again for a future move.

Having moved 3 times in the last 5 years I have my fair share of moving horror stories. Which is why I'm so glad that I found these guys. Nothing broken or lost, no bad attitudes or ripoffs. I recently used Redline for the second time and as with my first move, they were on-time, efficient and affordable. They did a wonderful job. I will be using them again to move some additional items from storage. They came highly recommended to my by a friend, and I will highly recommend them to anyone in need of a mover.
