Blondie at Salons Unique

My boyfriend found Blondie online as we searched for someone who actually knew how to care for permed hair. It seems that alot of salons are starting to do perms because they are starting to gain popularity again, but the stylists do not usually know what they are doing.

Before I came to Blondie, my hair was totally fried from stylists over processing my hair.

Blondie gave the a adorable cut. I get compliments daily on it. She took her time with the perm too. She had what must have been 5 steps more in the process than I have ever had. She suggested more gentle products and I picked them right up at a nearby store. Because she and I had a consultation before our first appointment, she was able to prep me for the correct way to prepare my hair for the perm as well. She asked me lots of questions about the possibility of existing color so she could correctly put together a mix of chemicals that would be right for my hair.

Her prices are reasonable. Not too cheap, not too expensive.

I a VERY happy with it and hope to see Blondie as my stylist for quite some time.

I went to Blondie for a color consult and walked out with a fresh haircut. Later she did highlights. The few fine, thin hairs I have left on my head need special attention. As well as being intelligent, Blondie knows how to handle these fine, thin hairs. When I got home my husband told me I looked much better. He meant it. I'm happy I found the reviews for her on Citysearch.

Blondie is so great. She is amazing with both cuts and colors. I have had my hair done by all the top hairdressers in LA and I would never go back after seeing Blondie. She know exactly the right color and shades for your completion... Just let her do her magic. I promise you will not be disappointed. I recently had her do my hair and everyone LOVED IT. I got complements from random people at the grocery store...can't beat that!

I have had a certain haircut in mind for several years, but no one has gotten it right. In just a few minutes, Blondie understood what I wanted. I'm very pleased with my cut and have gotten many compliments.

I brought my teenage daughter to Blondie for a cut. My daughter had a new hairstyle in mind, but Blondie is a sharp cookie and knows that teenagers are fickle (and sometimes delusional?) and wanted her to be positive about changing her look. Blondie suggested she first trim and clean up her hair since it'd been several months since it had last been cut, then spend a few days with it like that and if she STILL wanted to continue with the cut to come back and she'd cut the layers, etc. Great idea! My daughter DID come back for the follow up and Blondie did a great job and did not charge any extra for the visit (bless you). She also gave tips on how to properly use a flat iron that my daughter can put to use in maintaining a head of healthy hair. We will definitely be back!

I've had 3-4 different stylists the last 8-9 years I've lived in Austin and once I found Blondie I never went to anyone else. I go to college in Chicago now and I still wait to get my haircuts with Blondie when I come home because I trust her and on top of that, she's got a pretty awesome personality too, so haircuts are never boring.

Two months before my 60th Birthday I went to Blondie and asked for a new look. She patiently listened to how much work I wanted to put into styling the cut and how light I was willing to go with the color. The results were amazing and I have been receiving compliments almost every day- sometimes from complete strangers in airports, grocery lines, and public bathrooms. Quite a nice feeling at my advanced age!

Blondie is the best. Bar none. All I can say is that I wish I had found her a few days ago. Background: I've had multiple spiral perms in my life. My hair perms very well and I have had really great results in the past. I wanted to go in and get a spiral perm on my long hair to create a nice, well styled look. Having such long, straight hair just wasn't working for me. The woman I used to get my hair permed from was in another state, so I did some homework (apparently not enough!) and made an appointment with a stylist that came highly recommended from a friend. The perm came out horribly! My hair was fried and lightened no less than 4 to 6 shades. The hair didn't curl, it crimped and singed. I tried to be zen about it... I mean, we all know that perms don't always turn out and that sometimes if you give them a day or so they improve... well, by late last night it was apparent that wasn't going to happen. The texture didn't feel right. It didn't feel like just-permed hair... hell, it didn't feel like hair! I got on the web and looked for someone to fix it and that's when I found Blondie. She was awesome in getting in touch with me right away today and seeing me this afternoon. (I am glad she did because I found out I have an interview FRIDAY!!!! OMG!) When I came in and brushed out my hair she knew it wasn't good. I had to lose length... a lot of length... She gave me a cute cut while shredding off the damaged hair and instructing me on how to make my hair healthy again as quickly as possible. She went out of her way to educate me on why my hair was so damaged and bleached (lady used the wrong type of perm for my hair)... and educated me on what it was going to take to get it back. She also taught me how to style it in a nice way that wasn't too harsh. No, its not what I wanted... but Blondie has saved my hair and helped me look like a professional person again. I have no doubt that in a very short time she will have my hair looking awesome. Be prepared to be educated, entertained, and most importantly- happy with your hair.

Just moved here from AZ where, of course, I was very happy with my stylist. I was nervous trying another person, but I convinced myself (well my grays did a lot of the talking), that it will be okay to use someone else!!
Blondie listened to me, really listened, about how I wanted my hair. No nonsense, but looking fabulous! She did both for me with ease!!
Styling it on my own was easy; just the way I like it !

I had been going to the same stylist for over 13 years, and was looking for a change. I read all the reviews about Blondie, and had to go for myself. Low and behold, she cut and colored my hair, and brought it back to life. I just turned 40, and everyone I know has told me that it made me look even younger! You can't ask for a better compliment than that.

Blondie is open, honest, and above all else, entertaining. I've been twice and plan on going back for a long time. If you're looking for a change, and want your hair to look its best...go see her too!

I have tried many hairdressers over the years, and I don't think I have found anyone who knows her stuff better than Blondie! Extremely well qualified and trained and a great sense of style.

I need to keep my hair long for a wedding, but it was driving me crazy and I wanted something different so I decided to go for a wavy perm. I didn't have a hair stylist because I am new to the area, so I decided to stop by Salons Unique since it is close to my apartment. A told a lady that I was thinking about a perm and she took me directly to Blondie. I talked with Blondie for a while about what I was thinking and then I emailed her some photos of what I liked. After looking at the photos, we scheduled an appointment and she got it perfect! It is exactly what I wanted. It is a nice change and it is so easy to do, plus it looks great without having to try!

As I walked through the parking lot towards a Randall's store, a car passed in front of me. Suddenly, the driver's window rolls down and a thirty to forty-something gal sticks her head out the window. "I just had to tell you how great your haircut is, it really suits you!", she says, smiling. Well, after the initial shock that someone would actually go to the lengths she did to make that comment, I smiled back and thanked her. Then, I thought, "geez, she said that and my next appointment with Blondie is in another five days!" I received a comment from a complete stranger (in a parking lot no less), and it had been nine weeks since my last cut. I've been going to Blondie for close to a year now, she has been working with me on a style (from a picture) and transitioning my short hair to a medium length. Based on the comment I received from this gal, I'd say it has been well worth our efforts! Wouldn't go to anyone else! Blondie ROCKS!

Have you ever had one of those experiences where you could not wait to jump out of the Stylist's chair and run out?? This was one of those!

Perhaps this stylist's strength is color; but precision cutting is not one of them. The front bangs were so screwed up (two different length from left to rigth) and the side burns were off by about an inch! During the Shampoo/Wash, water ran down my back. During the cut, hair kept flying into my eyes, nose and mouth. Noe once did the Stylist offer to wipe it off or give me the opportunity to do so.

Now, I will need to invest more money in a corrective haircut.

She asked me one question about length and nothing else (that Stylists usually ask about style, etc.). The stylist did all the talking!! The talking was incessant and remained on topics that I did not need to know about. I.e.: did I really need to know about a Stylist's opinion about how stupid Barack Obama is or the intelligence and character of the people who voted for him?

I refuse to believe this is an isolated incident. Skill and ability never change.

I am still shaking my head!

One word-Goddess. She was all that I have read and more! My first encounter was a correction job for her and boy, was I nervous. One more bad highlight job and I was going to shave my head. She saved my blond highlights from a mis-mash of bad color jobs and turned it into beautiful colors that I haven't seen in a long time. Pretty blond highlights seemed to be really hard to obtain from my past experiences, but she knew her stuff. She's worth more money and time than what she charges is all I can say. I will recommend her to my friends and I can't say enough thanks. She's a keeper. Blondie, PLEASSSEEE don't go anywhere! Hook 'Em Horns!

So, this is the second time that I've had my hair done by Blondie and once again, I've been greeted by my family and friends with a resounding chorus of "I love your hair!" This woman is not only entertaining as all get out, she has a magic touch and knows just what you're thinking about your hair without you having to verbalize it precisely.

As all my friends will tell you, I'm a firm believer in a good haircut and even more a believer that good hair shouldn't take work. Well, let me tell you, I have found my stylist. My hair is easy, awesome, and I just can't say enough good things about how it turned out or about the woman who got it there.

Go see Blondie. She's amazing and there's no way you won't love your hair, too.

I chose to set up an appt. with Blondie because of her many fabulous reviews here on CitySearch...and, surprise surprise, I'm another reviewer that can justify the amazing work she can do. I placed everything into her hands, wanting a change i desperately needed, and I couldn't be happier. I went from long blah hair to a cute short do that doesnt require much fussing with and I absolutely love it. On top of her amazing work, she has an amazing personality to go with it. She's incredibly down-to-earth and honest, and I love that. I'll be seeing her again soon!!

After reading wonderful reviews on this website I decided to give Blondie a shot at doing my hair. I am really picky when it comes to my hair, and always have a hard time trusting someone to do my hair. I went to Blondie to get highlights and cut, and she was absolutely wonderful. The color looks wonderful and the cut is perfect. I've never had an easier time fixing my hair in the morning cause of the cut she gave me. She is super friendly and a joy to be around. We had such a fun time and great conversations, it made the three hours go by super fast. I highly recommend her if you are in need of a new stylist.

I moved to Austin from Houston in March '07 and during that time I have been trying to find a good hairstylists since...I've had some really bad ones....then I met Miss Blondie! THANK GOODNESS! She fixed my bad color job and she is so entertaining. I'm not much of a girly girl and I don't like sitting in a salon chair for more than an hour but she made it very entertaining. The time flew by because we were having so much fun! So anyone in the area that just moved to Austin and can't find a good stylist then I suggest calling Blondie!

Blondie is the best! I moved here from Northern CA. I went to someone else within the first few weeks and he really messed the color up. I went to Blondie with high recommendations for color correction - I am so happy I did! Not only did she fix the color but she gave me the best hair cut I have ever had. Go to Blondie for all your hair needs - she won't disappoint! Another bonus - she sells really nice handmade soaps that are great for gifts and has a cool service for groups called Girls Night out - check it out.........

So back in February i was having drama with the boyfriend and really down and u know a trip to the salon always makes us feel better unfortunately, i could not find blondie's number since it been a while since i'd seen her so i called next salon i go to they were all booked i soooo needed to feel better so i go into salon 505 in the arboretum and ask to just get the next person available - i figured good location and the price shoot everyone should be good right?? WRONG i was seen by samantha there who left me with an 80's/retro look my hair was slightly past mid back i usually wear it long with long layers and for the spring wanted to go up to my shoulders with no more than 2 long layers well i dont know what her definition of long is cause my layers are about 4 inches!!! i cried the entire weekend not only that getting the manager to get back to me and give me a refund was a b**** they really dont care about their clients. lucky i know blondie i went in and no joke this morning monday 4/21 at work everyone was complementing how cute i looked she fixed it although not long like i like my hair its very cute and sassy and most importantly me. i really had doubts not about her but my hair what could we possibly do if it was so short but she came thru and worked her magic and fixed my color so im back to fabulous lol ty blondie so much u saved me and i soooo recommend her in case you're interested, shes at salons uniqe at 183 and anderson mill. im so very happy with her work. On a whim, I decided to color my own hair to cover up some gray. How hard could it be? Brown is brown, right? Wrong! My hair ended up BLACK....way too dark and harsh for my skin tone. I remembered Blondie from a previous salon where she worked. I actually went to a different stylist there but remembered Blondie's great rapport with her clients and that they all came away with great looking hair. I decided to call Blondie this time and I'm so glad I did. She worked me into her schedule for a consultation that very same evening. The next day I went in and she worked her magic. She put in brown highlights throughout my hair that look really natural. I also got a great cut. I'd been wanting to get bangs but was a little apprehensive. The way she cut my hair, I can actually style my hair with or without bangs so I have the best of both worlds. I love it and have received many compliments on the cut and color. Blondie, thanks for giving me fabulous hair!!

My hair was dyed much too dark, black and I could not fix it on my own. This is an extremely difficult color to bounce back from. The first time Blondie lightened it overall, then I went bank for foils to lighten it up even more. Not only is the black gone from my hair, I have a killer new look with my highlights and cut. I am extremely happy with my do. - Life long customer , thanks!

So I have waited about 5 days since my hair was done to think of the perfect words possible to say. And yet 5 days later I still do not have them. My hair speaks for its self, I love it and so do many other people. I have had my hair done soooo many different ways in the past 24 years. However the past 3 years that I have known Blondie is when it has looked its best. She knows exactaly what she is doing and will only let me look my best. Thank you Blondie ya know I love ya!!!

My hair was driving me nuts! I have long, wavy hair with a mind of it's own. Blondie was able to give me a face framing cut that shows off my curls AND is still below shoulder length. The best part is that I can style my hair in less than 10 mins, and it looks HOT! I've gotten many compliments and everyone keeps commenting about how pretty my eyes look - now that they can finally see them!

Blondie also gave me caramel colored highlights with a sun kissed look in my crown. I was terrified of blond highlights before this visit because they looked gray in my dark hair, but the caramel perfectly compliments my hair and complexion. I will definitely be back!

For the past 6 or so years I've only had my hair cut by my friend, but she moved out of town and I was left not knowing who I could trust to cut my hair. I've known Blondie for a while now and I have a friend who gets her hair done by her and it always looks good, so I decided to be brave and let her cut my hair. I'm very particular about not having my hair cut too short, especially my bangs and Blondie really listened to what I wanted to do and did an outstanding job. I just got a trim, but some people can even mess that up, but not her. I am just so pleased with the length of my hair and she took a lot of the weight out of my hair too, which really helped. Blondie is the best hairdresser in Austin. I was previously a hairdresser and know what to look for when someone does my hair. She is very talented at cutting hair and coloring too! She always listens to me and never has gone too short, too light... She is also great about doing her best to fit you in at the last minute.
It can be difficult to find all this and a great personality to boot!

You helped my hair and skin tone in such a transformative way. What else can I say, except that I got the job! My color is looking natural, yet modern, and the cut is professional, as well as casual! I have very fine, straight hair and was nervous about finding a new stylist. But after reading all the great reviews that Blondie has received here on Citysearch, I decided to take a chance and I am so glad I did.
Blondie really listens to what it is you're looking for and then offers her own suggestions. I got a geat cut that gives my hair lots of volume without all the endless products and nice color that looks just like the sun lightened it. I've gotten tons of compliments, my favorite so far being that I look 10 years younger! Thanks Blondie. I'll be back

I needed help with my color! The angels were painting the front of my head silver as I slept, and the rest remained my natural dark color. Silver is pretty, but it is also very aging. Coloring my hair was a challenge; it is long, thick and curly. I stopped into the shop and asked to speak to a color specialist ( I knew I needed a pro) and then I met Blondie! She knew exactly what to do. New, rich color and a yummy aray of highlights, a chic new cut and my faded looking locks were turned into a sassy and gorgeous new look! I've been with Blondie for over 4 years now and wouldn't go anywhere else! She's the best at what she does and great company during the long hours it takes for a full cut and color. She figured out all the wierdnesses of how my hair lays and how the color will look best once it's dry- most people don't take the time or care for you more than if your card will clear. Don't waste your time trying different hairdressers- go to Blondie now!

I found Blondie on this very CitySearch and with the highly recommended reviews thought I would give it a go. After trying so many different hairstylists and a lot of post frustration, I mean it when I say you don't have to look any further! Blondie is awesome! She really took the time to listen to me and gave me a beautiful hair cut to compliment my thick hair and curls along with color and highlights that compliment my skin tone. She is the absolute best for color correction and I am so blessed to have found her!

I have been going to Blondie for over 2 years and couldn't be happier, not to mention the compliments that I receive about my hair from my family, friends, co-workers and even complete strangers. I recently went in for lowlights and a cut. As always it turned out great. I have really stubborn grey and Blondie knows exactly how to cover it up while still keeping my hair looking natural and healthly. I highly recommend Blondie to anyone who wants a great cut and color whether it be all over color, highlights or lowlights. If you want a great razor cut and to be in-style for 2007, you've got to make your appointment with Blondie! I found her a year ago at another salon and I've followed her to Tips, Toes... and I'll keep going where she goes to make sure I get the best stylist that knows how to use a razor for a great cut. Blondie is great. I have never been able to keep a hair stylist because they never seem to understand what I want. I always get frustrated and never go back. Blondie actually talked with me about what I wanted and how best to get there. I am so grateful to have found her, my hair looks like I want and I get compliments on it all the time. I recommend her to everyone I know!

I'm happy to have stumbled upon Blondie! I had bought some products from this salon a couple of different times and decided to give Blondie a try. I have not had a cut & color that I liked this well in over a year. It's always scary going to someone new however we discussed my hair likes, dislikes, time spent on it daily etc. Blondie told me what she thought and we went from there. The color (low lites, hi-lites & color) look great. The cut is very manageable and I could not be happier! I'm happy to found a stylist to stay with.

I usually am very nervous about getting anything done to my hair but Blondie made this the best experience that I've ever had!
Blondie took the time to listen and to make me comfortable. She questioned me and then followed through with everything that we discussed during the consultation.
My haircut turned out great and I was so impressed that I even got some highlights and lowlights put in too!
Blondie has a great sense of humor and makes you feel at ease!
