Jenny at the Sharon Amity location cut me off 2 days before my wedding, due to idle gossip and drama amongst the girls at the salon. I tried to reason with her and was unsuccessful. I do not recommend Ballantyne Nail Spa. Fortunately, I was able to find another nail tech at another salon who did an amazing job (even better than Ballantyne). Although it was a terrible inconvenience to rush and find another salon at that time, as it really caused the day of my rehearsal to be rushed and stressful. At least it worked out better for the long run.

1/26/2011- I must admit, I was concerned about my appt. after I read many of these reviews but it was too late to change it and so i went hoping for the best. My brother who had never gotten a pedicure was getting one too. It was my treat as part of his birthday present and I think he, being a 35 yr old guy's guy was a little nervous, not knowing what to expect. I am so glad I didn't cancel bc our experience was great! I don't have time to go in to detail but the overall experince was worth the $35 for a pedicure and I will definitely be going back. I think my brother might too!

I have been a customer for 3 years, and have always received outstanding service! i use both the Ballantyne and Sharon Amity locations, and find it difficult to go anywhere else! i have referred MANY people to Ballantyne Nail Spa and have never had a complaint from any of them. they have ALWAYS been courteous, friendly, professional and accomodating.

I visited the Ballantyne Nails location on Providence/Sharon Amity Road 4 times. The nail tech Katie did a great job on my nails (pink/white gel) and we got along great; however, the 3rd time I visited her attitude was completely different and she did not speak to me the entire time! Not to mention the hateful looks I was receiving as well. I figured she was having a bad day so I went again for the 4th visit only to receive the same horrible and unwelcoming treatment. She then proceeded to refer me to different nail techs and even a totally different nail salon, so at this point it is apparent she did not want me in her sight! The real issue is when I complained to Chang the owner about how I was treated as a customer. Instead of referring me to someone else and offering a small token of customer apppreciation due to his employee's poor judgement and treatment of a customer, he did not offer anything and was nit-picking everything I had said and done since I began visiting the salon (casual comments about previous nail salons and the third visit I couldn't tip due to the tipping policy of cash only - plus the total lack of respect from Katie that visit did not encourage me to discuss a separate route for tipping such as making it up the next time). Hello? Since when did an American business side with the employee who clearly has issues and made the customer who would generate at least a 2K/year profit feel unwelcome, uncomfortable and practically told to go elsewhere?! Clearly this salon has issues with customer service. If you ask anyone on top (even Donald Trump), the clien'ts happiness is never disregarded because 1 unhappy client can ruin a corporation or at least so the saying goes. Anyway, better safe than sorry! I am appalled at this salon.

I have been living in the Ballantyne area for almost five years now and since I have been living in the area have been going to the salon. I like many of the other patrons feel that the customer service or lack there of is definatly a turn off. I was in the salon right after Thanksgiving. I came in late evening and signed in, there were about four nail techs and although they looked up at me no one spoke a word to me. I then sat in the corner for about 15-20 mintutes waiting for a nail tech to acknowledge me. I am four months pregnant, no one so much as offered me a bottle of water. Then the nail tech called me over and told me she had an appointment coming in a few minutes and did I mind waiting for someone else to do my nails. I kindly told her I did mind and wanted to get my nails done immediatly. She then proceeded to do my nails and did a poor job. Because she was in a rush within the next few days one of my nails broke off which in all the years I have gone there that has never happened. In giving them the benefit of the doubt I went back this past weekend and the same situation. I came in and no one acknowledged me. The manager came over after i sat in the corner for about 15 minutes. I looked over and saw a lady with wine and I do not drink but thought to myself why I was not offered anything. After the nail tech got finished with the customer before me she called me over and I sat down and she proceeded to use the same exact towel on me that she had used on the person right before me!! I advised her that I wanted another towel to be used and she complied. She provided little to no conversation and still did'nt offer me anything to drink. Another 15 minutes goes by and a gentlemen came over to me from the back and asked if I wanted something to drink. My nails look ok but nothing to jump up and shout about. For this reason I will no longer be going to the salon and will find some place else with better customer service.

So I was literally just in the salon today (3/4/10) and wasn't really all that excited about my experience. I had called several days prior to find out some pricing and details. I am new to the area and work literally right accross the way so I was able to make a very convenient trip with my appointment. After reading several bad reviews on here I was pretty aprehensive to even step foot in the place but I figured I would give it a try on my own. The girl doing my nails was not talkative at all, which I actually don't mind. I did mind however that I was not offered anything to drink until I had been staring at the wine for about ten minutes which is part of the reason why I came there is the first place. The girl doing my nails offered me a water after she had noticed my glare which I declined because I wanted a glass of wine. They offer "complimentary wine and drinks, soda/water) which is advertised on the website. Now I am 23 years old and I can understand that I might look a little young but I am in the hospitality industry and I know what good service is and how to give it. I'm not only going to get my nails done, I'm going to enjoy my experience and pay for a service. Granted I could have asked but I shouldn't have to! I was also pretty offended when the owner seemed to care much more about his older patrons then myself. He offered everyone of them a drink, glass of wine, and a conversation to go with it, I only had about five minutes left when he came by and asked if everything was ok with a smile, but no where near as hospitable as with the older ladies (late thirties to mid forties). Now on to my nails, I don't get them done often and don't mind paying for them in the least but when I checked out the girl told me forty dollars when I was told TWICE on the phone that it would be twenty five. I didn't argue or even say anything, I paid, tipped, and left. The nails look ok, they are a little offset and I told the girl to push back my cuticles then clip them so they would become more even. She clipped them without pushing back first so now they are crooked which I knew would happen because she didn't do what was asked and she did cut me and nick me once which is no big deal but an apology would have been nice. Now overall they look ok from far away but if you get up close they aren't very good. It was my first visit and maybe the next will be better but I won't know because I won't be going back. I'm sorry but when I pay for something I expect it to be done a certain way. The advertisement on the website is very misleading from the experience that I had this afternoon. Ballantyne Nail Spa should seriously think about hiring technicians that care more for their customers and for their jobs.

Excellent service and attention by technicians who are pleasant and so helpful each time. They go out of their way to accomodate and demonstrate a sense of pride in their work making this simply the best nail spa. I love the window view and the drapes which give a nice open feel to the room.

Most Relaxing Awesome Nail Spa in Charlotte Metro Area ! My wife and I have tried many places over the past 7 years, but we always keep coming back to Ballantyne Nail Spa --- especially for pedicures and manicures before big events !!! Ballantyne Nail Spa is always consistent in helping us relax and get rejuivinated ! Everyone that works there has always had the most positive vibe and their attention to detail is second to none. The only draw-back is that you have to get out of the chair eventually !!!

I had the worst experience here! The old lady who did my nails used the top gel coat to create my whole nail in layers, putting my hands in the UV fan in between each coat. This burned my hands! I had to take my hands out and let my nails cool down. There was at least a weeks worth of clipped finger and toe nails on the floor! The ladies acted like I was a burden for them to do their job and assist me. This place was terrible and I am going to report them to health inspectors! Please save yourself the trip and do not go!

Won't be a customer: I was disappointed with the place. As I went up to the second floor, I could not get past the ambiance of the place. The place was small, this place smell like a chemical plant. My service felt very rushed. The most disappointing part of my afternoon was the Manicure pedicure. I felt that my being their was an inconvenience to their Saturday afternoon.

OMGoodness, I would have to agree with this review. This is the worst nail experience I've ever had. The pink and white is horrible, and on top of that I asked for gel and it was basically a rushed job and the Gel didn't dry good so now I have this dull look and you can see through the acrylic. I would not recommend them to anyone.

Bad Idea for Pink and Whites: I have been to a number of salons to get my pink and whites done but this is by far the worst. I told the lady what I wanted (had to get a full new set) and she tried to talk me out of getting them. Tried to deter me by telling me how expensive they were. Once she did them, she didn't really pay attention to how much white or the shape of it on each nail. I had some where you could see between the pink and white. They were thin and easily breakable. I had all of them off in little less than a week.

I had seen the same nail tech for 4 years after she had her 2nd child she decided to be a stay at home mom. So I was out looking for a new nail tech. After about 5 trails and errors I came here and the first sevral times my nails were great the staff was nice and every thing was clean the little inperfections didnt matter much to me. I let them go because she was taking care of my nails. how ever the last two times she did my nails I didnt quite get what I wanted. For my job i always get what they call solar nails the first of these two problems i recived attiude from sevral in the store to include the girl doing my nails because I asked her to put a coat of polish on over the gel polish. this way after my night out on town I can remove the polish and still look perfossional for work. The last time she not only cut me with her drill bit again but since it was a new bit it took a good while to stop the bleeding. She did this 4 times to me. Then i was charged for a pedi and the solor nails. instead I got a pedi and pink and white acrlic by the time my toes dryed she was gone. I was told they would have her call me about it she hasnt and its been 12 days. Now I have 3 severly chiped nails, 2 minor chiped nails, and 4 fingers that still have scabs on them. Meanless to say I wont be going back.

I have tried several nail places and this is by far the best. The place is extremely clean and relaxing and the pedicures are fabulous. The only downfall is that they get extremely busy during peak times.
