This was a real nice ending to a family reunion on the West coast. I called Capt Kirk and asked about arranging a sailing charter going under the Golden Gate Bridge. He was super helpful. We had 11 people and went out on the Bay Wolfe. We walked down to the boat docked near the Giants Stadium and sailed for 4 hours.

My mom had never sailed before and she was thrilled (this was also her birthday present). My dad is the sailor and he had a great time trading stories with captain Kirk and his crew member (Andy - a sailor form England). Everyone got a chance to steer (even my goofy sister). The boat got going really fast a couple times and it was a hoot.

It was pretty windy, but the crew talked to us when we got nervous. I have sailed on little boats but not on something that was 50 foot long. We got to see dolphins out past the Golden Gate bridge and we also got to sail under the Bay Bridge and see the construction (My uncle is a Civil Engineer and though that was very cool).

Yummy sandwiches, and chocolate. We all had a great time and would love to do it again if we are back in San Francisco.

Sailing on San Francisco Bay - Wow. For my husband's birthday, I bought him a trip with Captain Kirk's San Francisco Sailing. His name really is Captain Kirk and the trip was wonderful. My husband got a private lesson on Kirk's 50 foot sailboat. My husband sailed as a kid and wanted to try it again before we go on a charter in Greece this fall.We had a great time. We invited his mom, three friends and us. We sailed under the Golden Gate Bridge and got to see dolphins (my favorite part). The trip included all the food we could eat (wine, great sandwiches, chocolates, fruit). My husband has not stopped talking about what a great trip this was. I made lots of points with him arranging this trip. We are off to Greece in the fall - yipee!

Message from Captain Kirk's San Francisco Sailing

We pride ourselves on making sure that you enjoy your day on San Francisco Bay. We are a small company - we are flexible, experienced and fun.

We have two great sailing yachts. One is a Santa Cruz 50 "Bay Wolf" she is an ex- ocean racer and a delight to sail. She is very responsive, fast and fun.

Our other boat is a Soverel 36 "Flying Tiger" We have owned Tiger for 15 years and she sails wonderfully.

All of our trips include good food and drink and free parking. We do not allow bad food on the boat - we serve excellent sandwiches, good veggie dips, premium micro-brew beers and select wines.

Call us and we can discuss how to make your day special.
