If you are a business person working in one of the nearby industrial complexes, please consider another one of the rental companies on the same strip. Do your research and be careful though because this management company runs several of the communities in the area. My complaints are as follows:\r
\r
Amenities: The pool is usually beyond dirty or experiencing chemical balance issues that causes it to be closed altogether. The laundry facility is even dirtier, and many times the machines do not work and you will pay money to use a dryer, come back an hour later to a wet load of laundry still rolling around in a broken dryer. Several were broken for months on end and you just had to remember which ones didn't work as the management did not mark them or fix them. And if you like to play tennis I hope you get home before six, because the ""lighted courts"" don't work anymore (I think the office has had them turned off).\r
\r
Bonus: I went yesterday to the pool to get ahead on some projects for the week, but I couldn't even think because the lovely management left loud pop music blaring over a set of speakers that could not be turned down from outside of their (perpetually closed) office.\r
\r
Staff: These are the most incredibly rude and inconsiderate people. The assistant manager, Kallie Nolan, is by far the worst. I understand that being an apartment assistant manager cannot be the most glorious of positions, but someone refuses to take an interest in customer service than they have no place interacting with the public. Her initiatives included sending threatening letters of evictions for water bills with discrepancies under $1.00. I once recieved a letter letting me know that if I didn't write them a check for .38 cents on that exact day that I could be subject to eviction precedings. If you attempt to contact them, good luck. Kallie Nolan is rarely in the office and never when promised by other members of the staff. She is who you have to talk to, but she doesn't usually roll into work until about 2:30 apparently (""she'll call you first thing in the morning"").\r
\r
I used to pay my rent 1 month in advance, until I was told by Kallie that this would ""throw off their books"" and that I had to pay it between the 1st and the 3rd every month. How can paying early ""throw off (your) books""'! Between that and the roaches (I am extremely clean) and the shoddy work done in the apartment before I arrived (the giant sky light window that you couldn't reach without a massive ladder is so dirty it looks like someone rubbed mud on it and the tile in the shower is peeling, the grout filthy, water damage on the walls in several rooms, etc. etc. etc.) I really wish I'd chosen somewhere else. The apartment I was shown was very clean with none of these problems, but the apartment I was given was quite another story. \r
\r
I have had to leave work early on a number of occasions over the past 7 months to deal with these people on their terms. I don't have time for these games, and I think a person should be able to use their amenities that they pay for, pay their rent early, and be off by 38 cents on a water bill without being threatened eviction. Oh and surprise - to renew my lease there will be over 10% increase on what I was paying last year. Not on my watch, Park South.\r
\r
If you like roaches, barefoot kids, rude office staff, and moving into a dirty and disrepaired apartment - go ahead and move in.\r
\r
If not - please choose a different apartment to live in - this one is a professional's nightmare.\r
