While I love living here due to the proximity to the Metro and Rock Creek Park, DO NOT LIVE HERE if you need a place to park your car! There's been a serious parking problem here for more than a month and the office staff has done nothing to correct it. They think that posting a letter (in just a few discreet locations) asking residents to obey the parking policy will actually fix the problem. When I requested a refund for my $75 monthly parking fee since the garage is typically at capacity with cars parked in areas that arent designated parking spaces, their response was that street parking is free on the weekends. Apparently its the residents problem that they over-sold the garage. Also, when you inform the concierges that the garage is full, they ALL respond rudely with, The office is aware of the parking problem and is working on it. Lets translate that to, I dont really care, please leave me alone.

Also, if you enjoy overflowing recycling cans and an overflowing trash chute, this building is for you! While the janitorial staff does a good job and obviously takes pride in their work, residents dont seem to respect the surroundings.

The landscape could use a little TLC, but thats the least of my concerns.

Overall this community is your typical apartment building with absolutely terrible and unprofessional management staff with high turnover (other than Lauren and Andrew, that both exude elitist attitudes).

This is a nice place to live. If people are complaining that much about this place, I dont' know what kind of experience they are having, but I'm having a great one. I've lived there for 9 months now, and the staff is nice, the front desk people are nice, the maintenance requests go through quickly, they change the air filters like clockwork, the garage is nice. The security has some holes, but compared to a lot of other building's it's pretty good. The gym is GREAT, and open 24 hours. The pool is small but clean perfect, with great views. They have events for the tenants which I've heard people love. They're held in the rooftop common room which has a bar, pool table and a lounge. The palce is expensive, I won't candy coat it. But I feel like the value is very good for the money. There's even a little overpriced convenience/liquor store connected. Free parking for friends in the street on the weekends, oh and Dogs! lots of Dogs. You definitely need to be a dog person, but everyone cleans up after them. Don't live on the second floor near the entrance, you'll hear barking 24/7. Other than that, the tenants are very nice, and you're right on top of the Red Line metro! honestly, I don't know what everyone is complaining about, I love this place, if not the price.

I was most appreciative of previous detailed reviews, so I wanted to do the same for others. I have to say, I was almost scared away by the reviews until I took a closer look to investigate and decide what was important/relevant to

My husband and I moved in here about a month after the building opened in 2009. I have to say, we have been very pleased and are renewing our lease with them. The staff are great, the apartments are wonderful, location is ideal, and price is very comprable to the other buildings in the area. My few complaints are that the building is on a VERY old power grid and loses power more than anyone I know, but they can't really control that. Only other con is the small water heater. I can't get through a shower without it running colder. So that's really the only complaints.

Currently I live in this building. It is true it is close to the metro, but thats it. It is noisy, unsecure, at least once a month (or after any mild storm) the power goes off, and staff is rude and unhelpful.\r

Just rented here. Out of all the properties we looked at, it is the newest and showed the best. Very happy with our decision.

We wanted to move in by the end of the month...
But I should agree that the price is too high for this place.
Pool is really small. And yes, when we came in ppl from the leasing office served us really poor.

I agree that rooms are very small. The staff is mean, I was talking to one Chinese girl, I believe her name is Janet or something like that, she was so RUDE! She even didn't show the apartments we wanted to take a look at.

Why are you defending that this place is good!!?? Your comments look absolutely fake! The management is really mean, they don't care about you, it looks like they want to get a salary and go home; the rooms are small, for such a high price you will definitely find something much better!!!

After spending a month living at the Meridian at Grosvenor Station, I can honestly say that I have no complaints. The staff has been extremely welcoming and helpful. It is nice to know that some of them actually live in the building as well. Which leads me to the building. It is BEAUTIFUL! There is definitely a lot to say about it being BRAND NEW! Everything just smells new and fresh, including my apartment the day I moved into it. It was very refreshing knowing that I was the first person to sleep in my apartment, cook a meal, take a shower, do a load of laundry, etc... Now that is hard to pass up! The amenities are all gorgeous. I have had a few friends visit who gasp when they see the place.

The location is also hard to beat. Coming from not such a big city, I really appreciate how The Meridian at Grosvenor Station is tucked away behind all of the noise of the city, and of Rockville Pike, even though there is immediate access to city life. My apartment has a breathtaking view of downtown Bethesda as well, so I can appreciate the city from where I am.

One more thing- I love the coffee that is brewed freshly throughout the day in the lobby! Perfect for coffee lovers.

I love my apartment. I have moved almost every year for the past 8 years, so I have experienced just about every type of apartment possible. The Meridian at Grosvenor is definitely the best place I have lived so far. The location is perfect for me (next to the Metro and close to 495), and my apartment has plenty of space and high end finishes.

I was one of the first to move in, so of course I knew there were certain things to expect with a brand new building. I'm not sure how anybody was shocked to learn that with construction comes a little bit of noise from time to time. Not to mention, when I moved in there was still scaffolding up. I'm not a rocket scientist or anything, but I figured that the building will still need some work for a while. On the plus side, I work a 9-5 job. I do not hear construction before I leave for work or when I come home. And as a rule, the weekends are pretty quiet. I also know that with construction comes delays - that is how the world works.

Overall, I think the Meridian at Grovesnor is a great place to live. The building has exceeded my expectations. If you have lived anywhere else other than your parents house, you will understand what I am talking about.

I have lived at the Meridian at Grosvenor station for six months and love it. The layout of the brand new apartment is excellent and the rooms and closets are spacious. Visiting friends have all agreed that this place is great. The area is great, close to metro station, bus stop, Strathmore music center, lots of shopping, food stores. Amenities are nice, fairly new range, microwave, fridge, washer/dryer .The rent is a little expensive. I have had very seldom maintenance issues, but they are always prompt when I have called. I have found the neighbors to be very friendly and respectful. Finally, the management staff onsite are very attentive, professional, and courteous. I would recommend this apartment to anyone who would ask.

I would be inclined to agree to the negative reviews. I moved in with my fiance, and we are not happy with our choice. We most certainly hear the metro, the generator--as I believe others have posted on has indeed failed multiple times, the garage is quite tight--no two cars can pass at the same time and its very difficult to park, security is appalling--the front desk do not even look at people but just buzz them right in--Freddy Krueger would have no problem getting in, they also leave the garage door open all day long and it breaks down often--and they do not even check to make sure it is people living here, management is unpleasant, they do not clean the place regularly--how can they when they are so short staffed, maintenance comes into apartments for no reason at all, which is quite scary, they at first said common areas were 24 hours, but now say it is only open part of the day.

Someone had mentioned construction. We moved in and they told us construction was done. I find that hard to believe when it is still going. They keep moving their end dates for everything--even when a mini mart will move in. They said it should have been finished months ago. For the price, it is not worth it. We also live in a two bedroom, and liked the floor options. Other options besides two would have been nice, but what can you do? There is another place in N. Bethesda that is the same price with much more to offer and great reviews. We have been so irritated by management we might break lease to move there...

Okay, so I was one of the first move in's here at the Meridian and I guess that is why the negative feedback shocks me. The building is right next to the Grosvenor Metro yet I dont ever hear the Metro and I am on the side closest to it. My apartment has a ton of natural sun light and watching the sunset is nice. For the those concerned with the construction, it seems like the heavy work is finished. I guess Jaime is complaining about the Meridian finishing the pool. My question if it was not finished when you moved in how did you expect it to be completed? Sheer Magic ? I have been here since September when the building was built and have no complaints of substance. Im guessing the first two people have never lived in an apartment before. You mean from time to time I will hear something in an apartment?...Shocker! This place is leaps and bounds better than my last apartment Upstairs at Bethesda row when it comes to noise. Not to mention I rented a two bedroom here for the price of my one bedroom before.

I am very happy with my apartment!

I'm not sure what the other reviews are talking about. I can't believe the one brought up the generator. We had a record-breaking blizzard and lost power for 3 days. The generator ran for two days before it ran out of fuel.

I fell for Meridian's lies when I signed my lease. Now, the building is full of people angry at what's going on. It's unfortunate actually. On the plus side, the building is nice and you will rarely here the people to left of you. You will always hear the elevators, the people in the hallways (the doors are made out of paper), and the people above you--even though they claim there's a foot of concrete between you and the person above. The security is a joke, as is the generator. Or one should say what generator? They also claimed construction was done 5 months ago, and now we're stuck listening to loud construction workers from 6 am to late at night, even on weekends. When people say that they are considering contacting their lawyers, are speaking to their lawyers, etc. it's all true. Just because a place is shiny does not mean the residents are happy. They aren't. This place is a waste of money. Look elsewhere.

Pros: Nice building

Cons: Poor management, multiple lies to get people to sign lease

.

First, the building is new so you will probably be the first tenant. It's nice to have new things, but beware the extremely loud work that continues on unfinished parts of the building, which, of course, no one tells you before lease signing. The staff is slow to respond to problems and not as available as they promise (before lease signing). The lease doesn't comply with state law, and they won't allow changes. This could be an advantage or disadvantage, as a court may find tenants have no obligations, but that would require a lengthy trial.
