Apartments are standard, we lived for one year at Archstone then the next year at Harborside. Don't be fooled to pay more for new appliances (cheapest available), flooring and paint. The buildings are still old and full of mildew, bad pipes and this walls. Our rent went from $1840 the 1st year to $2150 the next year and we were offered a renewal at $2400 that we walked away from.
The front office staff is useless. You will not get your security deposit back. You will pay for a full cleaning regardless of how clean you leave it. You will pay for carpet cleaning and in my case, carpet replacement. Even though we had only lived there for 9 months they insisted we were the ones to blame for 10+ years of bad carpet before we moved in.
Call headquarters if you want anything done beyond regular maintenance. I did receive a partial refund of the carpet replacement when I called headquarters to complain of more than $1800 in move out charges against my $1900 deposit. Give me a break. I got back $1600 and was happy to never have to deal with them again.
