I just moved in an had my concerns, however the complex had been re-purchased and has a new management company. They have been so great and helpful! I love it here and unlike my previous complex they have lots of parking!

Okay, I lived here for three years. I will say that during the time I lived there I did not have any problems with any of the staff members that worked there. For the most part, most of them were pretty helpful while I lived there. However, I did have several problems with this place while I was there. First, how much it cost to live there. When I first moved in it cost around $900 a month for a two bedroom apartment. When I was ready to move-out after three years they were going to charge me almost $1200 a month to renew my lease on my two bedroom apartment. Sorry, that is way too much of an increase over three years or price to pay for an apartment per month. Place has no loyalty to anyone who renews their lease year-to-year especially those that pay on-time and cause no trouble.

Next, the dog park there constantly would flood everytime it rained and the mulch they put in each year would wash completely away after a few storms. They could fix this if they installed a couple of drains in the center of the area and drain the water only 25 meters downhill into the creek in the woods. Would be cheap to buy the materials but dont know why they never did. The appliances in the apartment are cheap speaking of which. The front door on my fridge fell completely off the hinges three different times while we lived there. Who buys a new fridge and has the door fall off after just a year or two? The fridge and stove were some knockoff brand I had never heard of. Neither were real stainless steel. Me and my wife were not big party people and we never abused the appliances. So if you like cheap appliances this is the place for you. Finally, when we moved out we got screwed from this place being charged $800 in chages after we moved out. Keep in mind, we lived there over three years. We also had to pay a $300 deposit to have our dog live there which we never got back.

By the way, if it isnt already obvious. Bridget M is an employee of Windsor below that wrote her review. Nobody writes a condescending review like that and doesnt work for the place their reviewing.

We moved into Windsor over a year ago and we are very pleased with our apartment, the maintenance and office staffs. They are always responsive and genuinely kind to us every time we call or stop in. In reading the reviews, it seems the common theme is being over charged at move-out, noise and rude residents. If you read over your paperwork when you signed the lease, you would know that you cannot be randomly charged for damages. You should have walked the apartment before you moved in, noted any damages or defects and documented them on your move-in sheet. You would then have a comparative to base charges on. Given what I have seen ....residents throwing trash, not picking up after their dogs, throwing beer cans in the parking lot and a host of others, I am not surprised you would be charged. I doubt you took care of your apartment any better. The staff has sent out countless letters regarding noise, the pool, picking up after pets. What would you like them to do, follow everyone around to make sure they are behaivng? It's called responsibility....GET some!

The problem with this apartment is not the construction, the value or the location... it's the management. When I moved in two years ago, I loved it. Everytime I have tried to complain about ANYTHING, I've been told there was nothing they could do about it. The evil women in that office are not only completely blind to the ways of the business world, but they are the most snide people I have ever met. They shut down the pool for weeks at a time in the middle of summer to punish the residents if someone leaves beer cans out. This past week, they adopted a new policy designed to get rid of all of the college kids. They are now only accepting one check for rent. I walked in with my two checks as normal and caught enough attitude to suite me for a lifetime. My fiance and I have been paying rent with two checks for two years now. They claim they "sent a memo"... but that is what they always say... No one I talked to received this memo. Also, money is money... so what is the problem... It's obvious they are trying to get rid of the younger people, but it is backfiring. All of the professional adults at the apartment complex are completely fed up with dealing with this type of assinine policy (which seem to change with the seasons around here). Again, the staff all have major attitude problems... They are perfectly nice until you have a complaint, request, or anything in general that might require them to work and think at the same time.... I intend to leave as soon as my lease is up... which is another well known problem here. They have a tendency to completely abuse the move-out inspections... to the point where they have been reported to the Better Business Bureau several times... They actually charged my neighbor to replace (not clean, replace) the fiberglass floor of the shower because it looked like it had been used before... I looked it up this weekend and the number of complaints and poor reviews out there is ridiculous... I wouldn't move in here again to save my life... especially if you expect the management of your apartment complex to act like human beings and not 13 year old girls with a vendetta.

This apartment complex was amazing two years ago... the management at this place has run it into the ground. They actually wasted money on a speedbump they bought on the internet only to find out from the fire department that it wasn't up

Beware. I was the first to live in my apartment and I will agree with others. The construction is cheaply done you can hear every single thing next door and outside. This is by far the worst place for noise. I could hear people talking, snoring, and watching TV daily. These are basic things that you should not be able to hear in your apartment but it was just like the person was constantly in the same room with me. The brand new appliances do not always function properly. I had to call many times about the fridge and maintenance never fixed it. They would come out claim they adjusted something and leave. There was also mold growing in the windows and their solution was to have me wipe down the windows daily with bleach instead of inspect and repair the windows or air vents. The air vents rattle constantly and the carpet was coming up at the edges from general use. The hallways are dark and rarely cleaned. the one trash compactor and the recycling cans on the property fill up quickly and trash often sits for a week or more until it's dumped, even though you pay close to $10 per month for trash service. Every year it snowed or iced, they will not shovel sidewalks and will put down such a small amount of salt. I had to call one year and demand they come back and salt the walkway completely. Generally the office staff was fine, unless you have a concern then they can get snippy. The best thing about this place is its location, close to shopping and the interstate. There are other places just as close and those don??t have such poor reviews, look into those places first. ************Do beware of move out************** Please have a walk-through and get everything in writing. Do not believe them when they say everything looks fine. They will insist that they do not have a walk-through form but that is a lie. I had the maintenance manager do my walk through and he insisted he could not believe I had been there 3+ years. This was after they made me wait over 3 hours to call me back to do the walk through. Take pictures and video of the entire unit before you turn in your keys. Two months after I moved out I got a letter from Riverstone Residential charging me for extensive carpet damage and replacement of 100% of the carpeting when at best the carpeting should have been cleaned for the next resident. After asking for documentation neither the dates of service, actual service and charges, nor the inspection report match but I still owe close to $500 and Riverstone nor Windsor will talk with me about this. Check complaints with BBB and the NC and WA State Attorney General's office for Riverstone Residential, there are many! Below Jennifer the manager selects 5 stars and proceeds to address none of the complaints. This is how they will treat you if you move here, ignore your concerns. I have lived in 3 other apartment complexes before this one and have never had such an experience. Please read all reviews about Riverstone Residential and Windsor at Tryon Village not only on Google but on other review outlets including complaintsboard.com before making your decision.

The apartments are okay but the real concern is the move out. They will charge you hundreds of dollars even after taking your whole deposit. I moved out in July. I spent 7 hours cleaning the place and it was perfect and spotless. A month later I get a letter saying I owe $200 because they "had to replace the oven door" which was $185! They also charged me for a broken door frame, which was non existent, and for re-grouting the kitchen floor, the responsibility of that cost should be the apartment's not mine. I should have taken pictures and video. I asked if there was anything I could do to dispute the charges because they are made up and nonexistent and I was told that I would need to get an attorney, "which would be cost way more than $200", gee thanks. I was also told that from now on I have to speak to Riverstone (The company that owns Windsor) instead of anyone at the office because apparently the office wants nothing to do with you after you move out even though they are the ones who decided to screw me over. DO NOT LIVE HERE!! I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau.

Also this was after paying a non-refundable $600 pet fee when I moved in, where did that money go??

Unfortunately, we did not heed the warnings from reviewers on here! I wish we would have listened!

We have lived here almost a month and the items that were supposed to be fixed from our initial walk-through have still not been fixed.

If you do choose to live here, live far away from the pool! There are people out there until about 2am playing beer pong and yelling. During the day it really is like a really bad frat house, loud and obnoxious. Not to mention the beer

I hope I never have to move! This place is located in probably the best spot of all of Cary. I have a 2BR and absolutely love it, the rent includes cable and internet and is still competitive with other communities that include absolutely nothing. I have a dog and they have a private dog park on the property which is awesome for me. The facilities are also very new and up to date as well as the appliances in the apartment.

I wish I would have seen these reviews before I moved to Windsor at Tryon Village. I agree with all of the negative reviews. Don't let the shiny surface looks fool you. Take these reviews seriously. I hear the everyday lives of my neighbors through the walls and ceiling as well as the loud traffic and trucks but it's not the noise that bothers me. I understand that with many people living in the area, there will be noise. What I can't handle is the staff. I agree with a previous review saying they're too young to be in charge of anything. You would think that with a property so large and with so many tenants there would be a more seasoned manager with a competent staff. Instead, the office is a club and if you have an issue that you need to discuss with them, they're rude enough to smile in your face and turn you away without listening. There are very few times where being rude is warranted but I don't know how someone could be rude when they don't even know what the other person is going to say. Maybe they would listen to me if I friend them on facebook. Then we could all be bffs.

If you're looking for a barely-par complex and an apartment staff that is really good at wearing skirt suits, playing grown up, and being rude, then these are the apartments for you. If not, I could name a couple other complexes in the same area with customer service that far surpasses that of Windsor at Tryon Village.

This is an awful apartment complex! It's dirty, and the staff are completely uneducated and incompetent. If you plan to have a conversation with them, speak in small words.

I would not recommend this place to any of my friends. Between the amorphous fees, charges, etc. Paper thin walls, and otherwise cheap construction. The move out experience. The inconsistency with what one staff member tells you versus another. The complete lack of attention to detail, on the staffs part with respect to issues, and so on. This was the most disorganized living experience that I have ever had. Tack on vindictive, petty, actions by the staff, and the whole experience was most unpleasant. Never again! With some of the most expensive rent in the area, they do not even offer lock out service. I know of someone that was told that they would have to wait outside last Feb, because there was no lock out service. For $1200 a month people deserve better... BTW I will bet that the only good review which was written by C.B. was made by Chris Brazzell, the assistant housing manager (food for thought).

The staff was excellent for the most part. The walls are paper thin but the worst part were the chump charges upon move out. Normal wear and tear will not apply. I've rented several places prior to this and have always received my deposit back in full. I left this place exceptional, even the carpet cleaner stated that and I was still charged nearly all my deposit. Mostly for a stain on the stainless steel

I can't echo these other negative reviews enough:

1. Cheap construction and it's noisy beyond belief. Prison is quieter than this place.

2. It's like a dorm. Proximity to NC State means that self-entitled kids have mommy and daddy renting apartments for them and the noise never stops.

3. They will nickel and dime you for ludicrous charges when you move out. In most places these charges would be considered "normal wear and tear".

4. The staff is a bunch of moronic, condescending 20-somethings who shouldn't be in charge of the fry maker at Burger King let alone an apartment complex.

5. Have a problem with neighbor noise? Forget about them helping you.

6. If you do decide to live here get a top floor apartment; they rent any apartment to people with dogs and kids instead of a normal place that only rents first floor apartments to those folks. When you're under that, it's like living in a bowling alley.

The place looks nice but is cheaply constructed. On the plus side you can walk to a nice shopping plaza with a Harris Teeters and several restaurants.

That being said, I'm much happier now that I'm out of this place.

Do not move here unless you like living in dorms!! It is like college all over again with parties and loud music and rude neighbors. I CAN'T WAIT until my lease is up so we can escape. The management is completely useless....they do not even try to resolve problems here.....

I agree with all the negative comments about this place. The only good is the cleanliness of the grounds, the location, and the response time if something breaks. Otherwise, this place is awful. The pool in the summer is like college spring break... in a bad way. While living there, the pool was closed for several weeks because someone broke a glass bottle in the pool. We made lots of friends here, but everyone hated living here. Moving out is a nightmare. They absolutely will nickle and dime you for damages and cleaning that isn't even necessary or exists. Word of advice... take very detailed pictures and hire your own cleaning people. Document everything. They have a scam going where they try to charge you for "stains on the front of the dishwasher and range." The off-site accounting department are a bunch of condescending pricks. The people in the leasing office may seem nice, but they won't help you with problems with your neighbors. One girl who works there told me they don't like to deal with residents having problems with other residents. They will blow you off. This happened to us on more than one occasion. So, be prepared. Also, have a few thousand dollars on the side for when they send you the bill after you move out.

I was looking for an apartment and was surprised to see negative reviews for Windsor. I lived there for a year, moved out a while ago and was not charged anything except my final utility bills. The staff was always nice, welcoming, friendly and addressed my questions thoroughly. I enjoyed my time while living there and have recommended it to friends. I have not heard one complaint from them; the ones still there and even one who has moved out who also was not charged anything more than expected. I would live there again if it was closer to work but I will continue recommending it to my friends.

The good -this is a nice looking apartment complex. It is clean. It has a good location. The bad - The walls are thin and the neighbors and traffic are loud. At checkout expect them to nickel and dime you over their low quality appliances.

At checkout they will tell you that you need to buy them new stainless faux panels for their fake stainless steel looking appliances that they claim can easily show very minor, barely visible, "shadows" in the finish. The apartment people will claim these shadows weren't there before and because they are so insignificant you would not have noticed them at move in even if they were. At final inspection you can expect the apartment inspector to immediately upon entering your apartment go over to the appliances and start looking for shadows. Our inspector told us they fine many people for this.

These faux panels are not durable. The apartment people should have installed real quality stainless appliances and then everyone would be better off. Instead they went the cheap way and they will stick you with the cost of keeping up these low quality appliances. It?s win- win for them. By installing cheap appliances they saved money on the purchase and they stick the tenant with the upkeep.

We did nothing unusual to damage these appliances and it?s questionable as to if it is damaged since the shadows are so faint. Windsor would not write it off as normal wear and tear. Sadly, there will be no justice for us as it?s really not worth legally fighting them or getting another opinion on whether or not a shadow really exists in the finish because the fees for legally contesting this equal the cost of the panels. So even if we legally win, we lose money on this.

I agree with all the postings. We just moved out a month ago and we were charged for a "stain" on the front of the "stainless steel" oven. This is NOT real stainless steel and obviously has a cheap coating that has reacted to a household cleaner.
We are being charged for a faulty/cheap appliance and we only lived there for 4 months!!! We took over the lease of someone else and we are, therefore, responsible. They are unable to produce a document that explains how residents should care for their cheap appliances. Their response was, "Well, we don't have a document for telling people how not to put holes in walls, but they do anyways."
Cheap, petty, rude.
What a horrible experience and we have the ability to recommend a number of people relocating to the area to live in such a place. Way to lose business.

I Agree with all the other comments on this page. Move out is a nightmare. YOU will get charged for carpet no matter what you do. It falls apart and after 15 months of living there it still came up in chunks in the vaccum. I wish I would have known their would be a $730 carpet charge upon my departure. Just ridiculous.

Cheap apartments. I can hear my neighbor snore, i hear trucks loading at 5 am from the shopping centers in front and behind the property. Sheetrock chips off in chunks for no apparent reason. I know several people that were charged for carpet when they lived there for 3 years and weren't the first tenant in that apt...this is by far the cheapest carpet Ive ever seen. During the summer its like living in a dorm, its not safe to take the kids to the pool. Staff is friendly and thats my only positive comment, but none of them live on property, not even maintenance.

DO NOT LIVE HERE unless you enjoy being treated extremely badly and unfairly. They rob you blind when you move out, they are cheaply built, everything breaks continuously, and just try getting it fixed. They are filthy when you move in, but if you leave it immaculate at move out they still charge $ 1000.00 for repairs, even though you do the walk through with them and they say everything is perfect, you still receive the big bill in about 3 weeks. Worst place I have ever lived. Horrible, horrible experience, and they make sure it last long after move out.

DO NOT LIVE AT WINDSOR AT TRYON VILLAGE. The apartments may appear nice on the outside but the service is horrible. If you pay a deposit or pet deposit don't expect to get anything back and expect to pay more. Avoid living here if you can. You can get something bigger and better for the price.

If you chose to live at Windsor at Tryon Village be prepared for the move out experience. Any small thing no matter how long you've lived there and if you consider it normal wear and tear.......YOU WILL BE CHARGED. $450 to replace the carpets in a one bedroom apartment after 2.5 years of normal wear and tear and no stains. They charge for every detail and are just out to get more money. I have 2 friends that said the same thing when they moved out, I wish I would have listened.
