The negative reviews on other sites about this management company are very accurate. This company will keep a majority of your security deposit... even if you leave the apartment in better condition than when you moved in. We will be taking them to small claims court like the other reviewers.\n\nWe moved to this apartment from out of state on 10/1/2010. The following happened:\n-Our apartment was not move in ready.\n-It was not painted after the previous tenant\n-The carpeting was old, and had major traffic wear\n-The apartment was not cleaned after the previous tenant. They sent a maid to clean the apartment when we moved in.\n-They would not let us fill out the move-in checklist, and refused to write detailed notes about the condition of the apartment. They said all of our concerns were normal wear and tear.\n-They changed our monthly rental amount on the lease. They said the leasing agent (who no longer works for the company) wrote the wrong amount down on the paper.\n-They gave us a $18.80 credit for the ""inconvenience"".\n-They will nickel and dime you with additional fees for a washer/dryer and garage.\n-We were told our security deposit was 100% refundable if we left the apartment in the same or better condition when we moved out. Since we have always gotten 100% of our deposits back at previous apartments, we were not too concerned at the time.\n\nDuring our residency, we noticed the following:\n-Maintenance was very good about addressing issues in our apartment. This was the only positive.\n-Management refused to talk with us. The manager at the time was never available, and would never return calls.\n-The corporate office would never return calls either.\n-On-site management always says to call corporate. Corporate always says to talk to the on-site management. You will get the runaround for many issues.\n-The employee turnover is huge! That is a good indication of how this place is managed.\n-The walls are paper thin. I understand that apartments have noise issues, but we could hear our neighbor's conversations clearly through the walls.\n-The resident services office cannot do anything except collect rent. They do not accept mail or packages anymore. Packages will be left outside your front door where they can be stolen.\n-The gym is not 24 hours. Neither is the clubhouse.\n-The buildings are falling apart. Literally. If you look at the property, look past the clubhouse (which they promote heavily). The stucco is falling off many of the buildings, and they have interior doors on the exterior of the buildings for the water heaters.\n\nWhen we moved out, the following happened:\n-We were told that they always take a cleaning fee out of the deposit. (not stated in the lease)\n-We were charged for cleaning, even though the manager told us that she's never seen an apartment left so clean before. She said we cleaned the apartment better than the maid and should give the maid cleaning tips.\n-We were charged for the apartment to be painted. The amount charged was more than the pro-rated amount listed on the lease addendum.\n-We were charged for carpet replacement, even though the manager said the carpet would not be replaced. She said that there were no stains, and that it's condition was from normal wear.\n\nEvery apartment complex has it's ups and downs. You're living around a lot of other people. However, you should avoid this place because of their dishonesty. They will rip you off any chance they get. Their leases, addenda, and policies are set up to take your money. They charge tenants who move out for services that are not needed or rendered.\n\nIf you move here, please please please TAKE PICTURES AND DOCUMENT EVERYTHING. They will write ""good"" for everything on the move-in checklist, refuse to write down the problems, and won't let you move in unless you sign it. When you move out, they will go through the apartment with a fine tooth comb and charge you for whatever they can. They are set up to keep your security deposit.
