came to get away. the rooms were clean, nice view. Comfortable beds. The staff are very nice and friendly. I did not had any problems staying here, the only downs side was tte valet parking, I agree it took forever to get it and they charge too much. If you park your car you have to pay so either way you will ended up paying. but overall people a re nice and helpful and the hotel looks great. is very central location and they are great to accommodate you when you have your events. we had our annual conference and they took care of everything the staff were amazing and so helpful. great place to held your event or meetings.

Don't get me wrong, having to pay through the nose to park is really ridiculous, and the 17 or 18 dollars to valet is outrageous, but the staff and quality of the rooms make up for it. I stay at this hotel regularly when I just want to get away from my house. At one point I was staying at least two times a month. The room rates are great, and the view is spectacular. I always request a corner room on a high level that's north facing and they NEVER fail to deliver. I must admit, I haven't had roomservice/food on site, but every thing else is spectacular. The pool is well kept and is very refreshing on a weekend away, and I just can't say enough about the friendliness of the staff. I'm also notorious for late checkout, too, and they're always willing to accomodate me. It's quite nice. I plan to visit for a weekend again very soon.
Oh, and the beds are extremely comfortable, too!
Pros: FRIENDLY staff, very accomodating.
Cons: Have to pay to park, and if you valet, it takes them FOREVER to get your vehicle.

Worth a visit

After a huge renovation, this hotel deserves a second look. The great location gets you to the Galleria or to Downtown in 10 minutes. If you're able to afford the Concierge Level (or if you are a frequent Marriott stayer), the new plush beds and sparkling clean rooms are great. The new lounge offers some great food in the early evenings with a fairly wide selection of hors d'oevres and the Concierges are downright Texas friendly.
Check-in can be a real bear though. Nothing worse than being told that because the hotel is so busy, they don't have enough staff to serve you. I waited over 20 minutes the last time I checked in.
Pros: location, newly renovated
Cons: lean on service
