I have used their services for several years. They can make you spend unnecessary money on xrays and other test when they are not needed. I have put my dog in the kennel several times, and paid extra for extra walks. It's no way you can verify if they accually took your dog for extra walks. I was told that I had to trust them. I called a few days ago to see about putting my dog in the kennel for a few days, and I was told that I would have to pay $40 for an exam, plus the money for the kennel cough. I told them that I would get it done some place else. I then decided not to take my pet their. I have paid out alot of money in the past to them. The only thing that I like about this location is you can pick up your pet anytime day or night. I also had a problem with the groomer before. They don't have a groomer their anymore to my knowledge. I would recommend you looking around at other places to take your pet, unless you have an emergency situation.
My black lab Roxie was sick.She was in pain. I rushed her over to the VCA Pets are People Too Veterinary Hospital. Her belly was swollen and she was having trouble breathing. When we walked in the door they immediately wanted to charge us $500.00 just to give her oxygen to stabilize her breathing. We had the hopes that we could get an antibiotic and something for her pain so that we could make it to her regular vet Instead the doctor presented us with a quote for 703.00 to run tests that could have been done at her regular veterinarian. I was prepared to spend at least $400.00 but I wanted it to be for something like an antibiotic. When I told the doctor that I did not want to run those tests there but wanted something like an anitbiotic and maybe a laxative and something for her pain. She refused and instead sent someone in the room with a paper for me to sign saying that I was refusing treatment which was not true! I did not want to spend my money on tests and then not have the money for her treatment. The doctor was so cruel and insensitive. She did not even come back to the room!! I cried for my dog who only needed an antibiotic and a laxative to save her life and the doctor was so greedy that she was willing to let me walk out of the hospital and let my dog die over some money. I am very angry and hurt. She is a heartless greedy person with no soul. She is comfortable with being set up in a wealthy community and just taking people's money for minor treatments and running unnecessary tests to take all of your money. When there is emergency you are supposed to treat the problem and give a diagnosis so that the pet can go to his regular doctor to continue treatment. I think that this hospital is a scam and they should not be in operation! As I was leaving there was a lady there that told me that she brought her dog in for a minor injury and she was charged $500.00. I told her they were rip off and then I left with my untreated beloved Roxie who died two days letter. She had pyometra. The doctor even wrote in the notes that she thought it was pyometra and didnt offer an antibiotic. I am so upset over the loss of my Roxie and they just didnt care!! All she cared about was scamming me for $703.00. She should not be in practice. DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET TO THIS HOSPITAL
My dog went in for her yearly shots and a bath - right at $450. I have never had a vet bill so large. When I asked for an explanation the guy behind the counter kept repeating the price. I will never go back again$450 is VERY EXPENSIVE!!!
I brought my dog to PAP2 for an after-hours emergency visit, so the estimate was steep to begin with. I made payment arrangements with the staff - put down a deposit of over $400 and paid the balance after pick up. This was July 2009. I just received (as in today, October 4th 2010) a voicemail asking for a return call regarding my balance due - well over a year after the service was rendered. I called back and was told that I owe over $200 and that it looked like the services went over the estimated cost. I wasn't informed of this when I asked for my balance in July 2009, or when I made FINAL payment...or at any point over the past year and two months since the service. Of course the office manager is on vacation this week and there wasn't anything the person I spoke with could do other than transfer me to the mgr's voicemail. I'm flabbergasted to say the least. I can only guess this ""rebilling"" is due to the management change mentioned in other reviews. I can't help but feel this is going to be a long, drawn-out process to get the billing corrected. I won't be paying the extra fees...I'm sure I'll be seeing this on my credit report some day.
As for the actual service - the vet I spoke with was friendly and compassionate...even when giving me the option of letting my dog die if I could not afford the service. I do recall spending several hours in the waiting room the night of the incident...and I waited close to an hour at pick up.
An aside ~ follow up visits were with her primary vet at another clinic - who informed me some of the services provided were not necessary for the type of injury she was being treated for.

I didn't have an appointment, so I understood I had to wait. I waited about 30 minutes before being seen. The vet saw me, and the nurse that gave my cat the shots said she was going to come back. An hour later, she never came back. so I left the room and asked the receptionist if the vet forgot about me. The vet apparently didn't know she was supposed to come back.
The receptionist was rude on multiple occasions; in the office and on the phone.
By the time I'd left, I didn't like her. I'm not sure if she was having a bad day or not.
I was furious at what I was charged and what was done. After researching on the internet and calling around, the exact same medications were up to 50% cheaper ONLINE and at other vets. I will NOT go back.
My cat is STILL SICK and I have no idea what is wrong without expensive tests (that actually aren't expensive at other vet clinics, they're only expensive at this vet clinic.)
I lost my job and used the last of my savings to take my cat to the vet. I wish I would have researched before the trip and not after.
Our dog had a bad bite from a junkyard dog. My partner was a vet tech for 10 years and went to interview the staff at PAPT at Ansley to see if that was a place she wanted to take our dog for treatment. They were very friendly and knowledgable. She spent over an hour talking to them and inspecting the facility which they allowed since she was a vet tech. The place was very clean and professionally run. The prices were reasonable. The vet, Dr. Josh Woods, who examined our dog was through and caring and gave good advice. Would definitely use them again. My guess is that the bad reviews are from competetors not customers.\r

Recently we had an emergency with our dog, and since our regular vet is far from town, we went to VCA. Because it is so close to home, we decided to keep going for our regular check ups. Big mistake!! The first time I waited 40 minutes in a room, even though midway thru our wait I told the desk guy to not forget about us (he gave me attitude, and told me there was an emergency, I guess all the personnel was busy with one animal?). 3 weeks later I had to go for a booster shot and I waited 55 minutes in a little room. Again I told the desk midway thru our wait but nobody seems to know whats going on, after 45 minutes I decided to go out and gave them hell!! So many excuses... the charts were messed up, the technician got confused, etc, etc. We will never go back. Also I was comparing the costs of the meds and it is very steep compared to my regular vet. I have never seen my dog get so upset when going to the vet! She starts trembling every time.

We loved this place because it was 24 hours and seemed reasonable, but about 6months after we started taking our pup there, the Mgmt changed and we suddenly had extra charges every single time we took her, regardless if we had current shots just two weeks earlier, they would always find a way to tack on 50-100 dollars! she came from the back smelling HORRIBLE, either like a cheap air freshener or poo and was clearly freaking out and ready to leave! she always immediately went to the bathroom as soon as she got through the doors, and for a dog that regularly holds it for ten hours, that's NOT a good sign.

OMG.... if you ever want to see a good business go bad... just look at this place. when it was ""PETS ARE PEOPLE TOO"" it was a pretty decent place to take your dog for veterinary care and boarding.. Well when it went corporate it went to the ""dogs' ... literally... I use to take my dogs there to get their anal glands expressed it was $12.50 for each dog.. seems reasonable .. Well I took them back, they are now VCA... I got my 2 dogs anal glands expressed.. when i went to pay.... the price was $52 dollars total.. the price had more than doubled.. That did it for me.. NEVER WILL I GO TO THIS PLACE... their are much better places in Atlanta to take your dog... do your research.. stay clear of this money hungry place.. I would say only take your pet here if its an absolute emergency after hours, because this place is open 24 hours... otherwise.. SKIP IT. \r

Boarding here = Never again! I picked my dog up at 11 a.m. after a two day stay and she crapped (bloody stool) in their lobby. She's never had an ""accident"" so in shock I ask the employee why this might be happening and what might be wrong. He tells me she hadn't been let outside yet! 11:00 a.m. and hadn't been let out of her kennel to go to the bathroom!!! She's a smart dog and thankfully that was the only way she could communicate to me how horrible they were to her. Then I get her bag back which had contained specific instructions for treats in the a.m. and different treats after her medication. None of the treats were given to her! I will never do business here again! Really, I couldn't believe the kennel employee told me they'd been too busy to walk my dog that morning - yeah, well next time don't take that many dogs. At least mine will be one less at your kennel. \r
In addition, I know the price seems good at first, but in the long run you won't save because your dog will be sick and uncared for at that facility - and the price quote and price charge are two different things once they add in a bunch of hidden random fees anyway. Next time, I'll pay up for the peace of mind.
Do not trust this practice with your animals. This is a corporate practice whose main interest ""money"" will always come before your animal's welfare. If you do some research you will find other ""local"" clinics that charge far less and require less manditory testing. You will not find fees like biohazard, disposable needles etc, at most clinics. They also have a rule about splitting up flea and heartworm preventative into single doses..they claim this is a law..if so, most local clinics are pretty loose about this ""law"". Also, the quality of the staff has gone down hill. The people they employ are not professional and seem miserable in their jobs. \r
What is really sad is that The Humane Society has made a deal with this company to send them new clients in exchange for a free exam for adopters. This is really sad!! The Humane Society wants to be supported locally but they send adopters to the most expensive ""corporate"" hospital in town..instead of some of the other""local"" hospitals which support the rescue efforts of this city and work to make animal healthcare affordable in the city of Atlanta.\r
One last point. If it is the middle of the night and your cat is dying, you will be turned away if you do not have atleast 500 dollars up front just to get your pet stable with fluids. They will turn you away and they will not give your pet's welfare a second thought. They will not even give you a referral! I know this to be true first hand.\r

I brought my newly adopted dog in for shots at the PAPT in Dunwoody. The assistant refused to help me weigh my dog and pretty much ignored us. Then, we were ushered into a small room and I was presented with a bill for $600!! When she saw the look on my face she said that we didn't have to do everything today and we ended up negotiating over services. I felt like I was buying a used car not taking care of my pets health.
The vet then realized that the dog was already chipped, but couldn't read it even though I found out later that the chip was from Home Again, the very same chip service they provide. I will NEVER go there again.

I have two dogs that were patients at PETS ARE PEOPLE TOO. Today july 13th, i went in to get a single dose of heart worm medicine for one of them. Because of the recession i can not afford six month doses at this time, and haven't been able to for a couple months now. PETS ARE PEOPLE TOO, refused to sell me a one month dose this time. Their reason was that they no longer feel that the single doses are being administered properly???? So apparently I am capable of administering a six month dose but not a single dose!!!!! I am very angry. I also tried purchasing from PET MEDS., but when they called PETS ARE PEOPLE TOO, to get them to sign off on the meds., PETS ARE PEOPLE TOO, refused, even though my dogs were current with their shots and heart worm test. Their reason was because the generic meds. i wanted wasn't a med. they(PETS ARE PEOPLE TOO) CARRIED!!! I was trying too take care of my dogs, PETS ARE PEOPLE TOO'S patients. They are more concerned with their bottom line than the health of my dogs. I found a feed store in the next county that sells yearly vaccinations and heart worm meds. for a fraction of the cost, and i dont have too spend a hundred fifty dollars for an exam and office visit to get my supplies. This feed store is a saving grace, worth checking out. I gave them one star only because a rating was required.

While the areas of the building seen by the public have been updated, the boarding facilities are outdated, a biohazard and unsupervised. The staff hired to care for the boarders do not take the dogs out properly and they are all thugs who seem to care less about the welfare of animals. Do not board here without a kennel tour!

I originally chose this vet because it is open 24 hours. I have seen several vets there and they have all been excellent - especially Dr. Phillips and Dr. Woods. Unfortunately, since they became part of VCA, the prices have skyrocketed. I have a cat with chronic kidney disease and his fluids went from $30/mo to $60/mo. After comparing new and old invoices, it seems that almost every service has almost doubled in price - especially surprising in this economy. I would only suggest this place if you have a pet with special needs who may require overnight emergency care. Otherwise, there are plenty of better options out there.

This was nice local vet until recently, when they sold out to a giant chain. The changes have been overwhelming, and even the staff complains. Instead of giving your dog a normal checkup, they now make you choose from several packages of optional tests and procedures, pushing the higher-priced ones, which are loaded with tests rarely considered necessary for most dogs. If you need ear-wash for your dog, you are automatically sold a giant bottle. If you complain, the staff says, ""we've been bought out by a chain, and this is the only size they let us sell now."" Prices have gone up for almost every procedure, and they try to push the high-margin prescription foods they carry, rather than suggesting a range of options that might work for your pet.\r
Yes, this is a still an option for 24 hour emergency care. But for routine care, try to find a real vet. This place has sold out.
I've not had a lot of vet experience, but my cat, Elmo, seriously hurt his tongue Nov. 2008, and they were all I knew to take him to.They saw him immediately, were very caring and kind. The Dr. called me twice a day to let me know how he was doing. It was very expensive, because of the treatment and putting in a feeding tube, but I felt very confident in choosing Pets Are People too, and, based on my experience, would highly recommend them for emergency care of your pets. I would normally take them to the Atlanta Humane Society, because of the cost (both my cats are adoptees), but their clinic has short hours and no weekends at all, which is when I needed the help. Thanks!

I've used Pets Are People Too for several years for borading but recently got charged $112.00 for two nights boarding due to new fees. They now require fecals every 6 months, a new vaccination twice a year, and they plopped on an $18.00 exam fee on top of these two fees. I could have put my dog in a hotel for less money. I have no problem getting my dog's any vaccination they need, but I think these guys are digging for money any way they can. I won't be going back.

I agree with the above reviewer. PAPT has terrific veterinarians and amazing emergency care. My family has been taking our pets there for 25 years--long before they expanded, sold-out, and hired Gary, who is always too busy being snooty to actually assist customers. I am loyal to their vets for showing expertise and compassion when my pets were in dire trouble. However, the boarding facility can no longer compete with the day-camp style facilities (I recommend Barking Hound). My dogs come home pent-up and anxious--and they always have to urinate immediately in the parking lot, no matter how many ""extra"" walks we paid for. I would say keep this place on-call for vet care, especially emergencies, but board elsewhere.
We have been using Pets are People Too for almost 4 years for our dog and cat. Dr. Wood is wonderful and we will continue to trust the care of our sweet animals to the wonderful staff at Pets are People too. We use to board there but after a recent impromptu tour have chosen to make the drive to a better place. The kennels were being cleaned out so the mess was somewhat understandable but the kennels were tiny and stacked on top of each other and the worst was the very loud rap music blaring not exactly what we would call peaceful music for animals already in a stressful situation. Our dog would come back very depressed and stressed which we thought was from being away from home but in recent boarding trips he has come back refreshed, happy, and always jumps out of the car to stay with his friends at Smith Farms. There are plenty of kennels that are a little more of a drive where the dogs can see the sun and play on grass. Smith Farms is wonderful - try them.

I would definatly recommend PAPT for any of your emergency and non-emergeny needs. I recently moved from Los Angeles, two days after arriving my cat was having issues going to the bathroom. The only vet I could find open on Sunday was this 24-hour vet service. After arriving I did have to wait a good 45min to get in, the place seemed very busy. But hey, what do ya expect being the only vet open around? It turned out that my cat had a UTI. A very serious condition. He did have to spend a couple of nights but turned out to be fine. The prices seemed reasonable and the staff very friendly and helpfull. \r
Since then, I have been back for vaccinations and boarding my pets there many times. The only complaint I have is that the wait times are occasionally high. The place seems to be very popular. They are currently going through some kind of renovations and have alot of construction to deal with. After to talking to the front desk employee's it seems the location has been there for many years. I think 20+ so they must be doing something right.
I felt I had to write to support the wonderful staff at this business. My regular vet clinic is Pharr Road Animal Hospital but twice I have been to Pets are People Two at Ansley Mall for emergency, weekend or middle-of-the-night visits. The first time, a couple of years ago, a wonderful young vet stitched up my Akita's foot but also, without prompting, noticed a small skin condition Nikki had been experiencing for years in spite of traditional medical treatments and shared with me some nutritional remedies she had used with her own Huskies. I tried her recommendations and they continued to work for Nikki whenever the skin problems recurred. \r
Last week I took Nikki, who had since become elderly and crippled, back to PAPT in the middle of the night. Nikki was in the throes of suspected bloat. A very young vet technician, who could not have weighed more than 90 pounds herself, singlehandledly lifted Nikki (about 95 pounds) out of my car's backseat and heroically rushed her into the clinic to the emergency room. Sadly the x-rays determined Nikki had suffered bloat and torsion, and the professional staff at Pets are People Too very kindly, gently and efficiently prepared her for immediate anesthesia and thereafter euthanasia. I felt as though Nikki and I were surrounded by caring family members who respected Nikki's feelings and mine, who loved animals and felt the pain Nikki was experiencing as though it were their own. \r
Although I had not expected Nikki's end-of-life experience to take place at Pets are People Too at Ansley Square, I am grateful to them for being there for us, for handling everything so well, for their continuing contact with me and assistance as I arranged Nikki's funeral and later picked up her belongings, for their thoughtful condolence card when I was not a regular customer, and for just being so understanding and compassionate in this time of grief.\r

My better half took our dog to this vet to be neutered. We were using a prepaid certificate for the neuter from ""Friends of Animals."" We dropped off our dog with no issues. A couple of hours later, the doctor called me to let me know that they performed tooth extraction for my dog because he still had a ""baby tooth"", this was an additional $15 charge. Within 15 minutes, the doctor called again to let me know that they were going to give my dog a ""booster shot"" because it was their policy and that the person at the counter should have explained this and it would be an additional charge of $26 and that the person at the counter should have explained their policy of giving this booster shot. I told the doctor that the counter person had not explained anything other than coming back later in the evening to pick the dog up and if there are any complications the dog may have to stay overnight. I recapped the additional charges: $15 for the tooth extraction and $26 for the booster, so that there would be no surprises when I came later that evening to pick my dog up for the neutering. When I arrived to pick up my dog, the person at the counter told me that the total charges for the neutering would be over $180. I discussed the variance from the billing and what the doctor called me to let me know. The doctor claimed that the person at the counter should have explained all the additional charges. They did not. They are not helpful. Seems that they are all about getting your pet in there and then running up the bill without first consulting the pet owner. Oh yeah, did I mention that I brought my dog in for a NEUTERING and not a tooth extraction or booster shot?\r
Terrible communication. Terrible customer service. Probably the BEST ""NO CUSTOMER SERVICE,"" I have even experienced. Would not recommend this vet's office.

I started taking my cats here, almost 8 years ago, because it had the biggest sign and I could find it (I had just moved here)! I have never been dissapointed. They are always helpful, whether boarding or vet services, and they always seem knowledgeable and friendly. The only two complaints I would have is if you are a walk-in, be prepared for a (sometimes very) long wait, and sometimes they are a little pricey compared to other places. That being said, I think this is a great animal hospital and, especially during emergencies, always there for you and your pet!

I've read previous negative reviews, but I have nothing but good experiences here. I took my dog here with a leg injury; he was shaking alot so I knew something was seriously wrong. After I had already tried two other Atlanta area vets who wouldnt see him, Pets Are People Too saw him right away, and the staff were very concerned about my dog. Maybe it was because they werent busy at that particular moment, but the vet came right in after examining him and explained things very well. I was in and out with good advice. They called two days later to check up on him, and when I called a week later to see if my dog was okay because he was still limping I got great advice then too, that really calmed my nerves about my pup. I recommend!

This place may be fine for yearly vet checks and immunizations, but I will never take an animal here that is in need of hospitalization or critical care. I took my adopted puppy here when she wouldn't stop throwing up. It was determined that she had the Parvo virus. Apparently Dr. Forrest was doing everything by the book except she released my puppy after only being on antibiotics for a day and half (mild cases of Parvo should be treated for as little as 2-4 days and up to a week). She was admitted on a Friday evening, released to me on Sunday morning, readmitted Sunday evening, tried to pick her up again on Tuesday and when I had her in my arms walking out the door she started coughing. They took her back for another night as having kennel cough. Gave her back to me the next day with pneumonia. By the way, avoid Dr. Mathes if you have to go to this place. She wouldn't even call me back when I said I was calling about breathing problems. They never called to see how she was doing even after I had spent $3000 with them.\r
Wednesday I took her to my regular vet - Ansley Animal Clinic and they recommended Georgia Veterinary Specialists - great place - but it was too late. My puppy was dead on Friday. In short, I adopted a puppy that cost me $4000, and she never spent a night with me.\r
Her mild case of Parvo most likely would have cleared up if they had just kept her for the usual 4 days that it takes for the virus to go through her system. Maybe it's because I got the inexperienced, graveyard shift Dr. Forrest. If you love your animals, and they are in need of critical care, please take them to Georgia Veterinary Specialists 455 Abernathy Road 404-459-0903 Exit 5B off of GA 400 opposite North Fulton Tennis Center. The cost is about the same, and the care is a 100 times better. A doctor will call you every day and an assistant. They have visiting hours, state of the art equipment and doctors who specialize in anything your animal may need.

For more than 10 yrs my dogs have received exceptional service from PAP2 ranging from care and surgeries to boarding. I am amazed at these negative reviews, for I have experienced very few problems. The only untoward customer service situation I can recall was attended to quickly and to my approval. Costs for treatments, care and/or surgery have been discussed in detail and taken into consideration. I was given the opportunity to decide what was necessary and what would be provided. I was not insulted by the staff in any capacity, for they undertstood my position when it came to care of my pet and the cost involved! Perhaps those who had less than good experiences at PAP2 should be clearer in their communications and their demands for their pets. I never waver when it comes to service or cost, for I am adamant that I receive the best for my hard earned money. Compared to other vets, PAP2 provides good services at basically fair prices. I will continue to be a satisfied customer. If that changes, I will be the first to tell it!

When you leave a toy for your pet a statement is signed with a description . All toys are thrown in a bin after your pets arrival. So what does the pet play with? You have to describe the toy in order to retrieve it\r
Recently, I made an appointment for hip xrays. I was put into a waiting room and a young female vet with an arrogant attitude made it clear that they didn't do such a procedure and it would take two weeks to complete the OFA paperwork after the xrays were taken .\r
I said this information was needed before my male could breed and that the breeder (who is the author of the definitive book on this breed) told me just a few days ago that a suitable female was in heat and she needed this hip information right away before the breeding could take place.\r
I wanted to call my breeder on my phone and the vet walked out even though I asked her to stay. I was told by the breeder that vets will tell you informally when the xrays are taken as to whether the hips are in good, average or bad condition and the paperwork two weeks later will be the official record.\r
The vet walked back in and was very adamant that she knew what she was talking about and no vet would ever give an opinion and one always has to wait for the paperwork to find out. The breeder could hear this at the other end of the phone and said to me that the vet did not know what she was talking about as it was done all the time.\r
She agreed to give me the name of a suitable vet and disappeared into the back room never to return. I called my own vets office, while waiting for her, and they scheduled an xray appointment for the next day. They said that the vet would tell me after examining the xrays what he felt about the condition of the hips and then send in the paperwork.\r
I will never go to this place again after being treated with such disrespect by a pompous,rude, adversarial ""professional.""
My best advice is to rely on this place only as an absolute last alternative- read all vets and animal hospitals in a 50 mile radius are closed except this one. Unfortunately, the majority of the negative reviews are right in line with my experiences at this horrid excuse for a vet. In my 8 months in the area, I have had 5 unsatisfactory encounters including the following: an unnecessary shot, a catheter left in my dog's leg after surgery (i was rudely asked on the phone- are you sure it isn't just tape?- no, i replied- it is a tube sticking out of my dog's leg), being asked to return for a bandage change on the busiest day of the week without being asked to make an appointment, changing the wrong 'bandage' (removing tape from his leg when there were bandages wrapped around his entire head related to an ear surgery), and then being told that all related procedures would be comped- problem returns requiring additional surgery and they fold on this offer. Please note, I do not wish to discredit the qualifications of any of the veterinarians on staff as all seem to have a genuine respect and concern for the pets. However, the place is set up as a business and does not give the type of care one would like to associate with his or her dog or cat's caregiver.

The main thing I would like to note are all the uneeded tests Pets are People Too had be do before her surgery. I found out my dog had a mast cell tumor, cancer. I had now spent over $1000 on test just to find this out, mind you nothing had been done yet to remove the tumor. I was sent to a specialist, another $400, who recommended amputation. I decided to go to my original vet for a second opinion who said he could remove the tumor and it should have been done a long time ago there was no need for all of these tests it was obvious what my dog had. He also said that there was no need to amputate. I let him do the surgey, only $350. My dog is fine and healthy. I guesss if i would have listed to pets are people too I would have amputated my dogs leg unecessarily and been out another $1500. They really care about one thing at Pets are People Too.

I took my cat in to PAPT, because he wouldn't eat his food. I mentioned that I was using a new shampoo on him and that an allergy may be causing the loss of appetite, but that I just wanted to be sure. The ""vet"" quickly dismissed this as an option. My cat was X-rayed (he was, of course, fine) and he prescribed some medicine. I should have stuck by my guns and refused the medicine - have you ever tried to give a cat a pill...even in those little treats, it's ridiculous. When I got my cat home, I washed him without the shampoo and he had his appetite back in a little over a day. I shared this experience with some fellow pet-lovers, and they were shocked that he so quickly dismissed the possibility of a shampoo allergy. I would prefer a vet who was actually concerned about my pet's health and not just about selling me ""services,"" ""food"" and ""medications.""
Good doctors and affordable prices but i have left my dog boarding twice and both times she comes back with something wrong. First time i left her for 2 nights and came home with a couple of blisters close to the mouth area... the doctor suggested that she might have hurted herself with the kennel and even considered the idea of some fancy auto-immune disease, the sores started to clear away next day...i decided to give them another chance thinking that maybe my dog indeed hurted herself with the kennel being her first time in one of them...\r
I went over to check out the facility first and everything looked good and clean so i went ahead and left her for a week...she came back with the same sores and on top of that one of her paws was bleeding.

It was my first time bring my dog too a pet hotel. The first impression should be the best the first thing i did like that customer service excellent. I did not have the vaccination record which i was thankful for holding my pet for 24 hour. To contact barfield to faxed the vaccination record. I spoke to the representative to see if they received the paper work which they did stated from the rep. However, I came back from the trip to pick up my dog they state that they did a vaccination my dog. I stated to the manager my dog did not need vaccinated which i was not paying for so manager have a folder of fax which the record of vaccination stated will not charge, but the manager did not apologized she stated will talked to the person about not put the paperwork in the files. I feel like that number was not concern about error was made by the vet charge double prices with no apology. I plan to stay away from the Pets Are people too vet.
I took my dog to PAPT with a swollen ear. They suggested a very expensive surgery. I asked if there were any other options and was told there was a way to treat the problem but that it only had a 50% chance of success. Because of circumstances, and the fact that I just got the feeling that I was being pushed a little too hard for the surgery, I decided to the second option. The ""Vet"" took my dog and said he would be back in about 5 minutes. I heard some yelping and 5 minutes later he was back. They had put a catheter in her ear and wrapped her head with some gauze. I knew there was touble when the gauze started coming unwrapped while the ""Vet"" was explaining that I was to leave it on for 10 days. They gave me a cone collar that came off in the parking lot. I managed to replace it. When I got home the gauze was seriously coming unwrapped and a couple of head shakes later the catheter has come completly out of my dogs ear. I called to see what I could do and they explained I could try to reinsert it myself. Needless to say I found a better vet the next day. At best these people are completly incompetent. At worst they purposely sabotaged my dogs treatment in order to force me into a ridiculously expensive surgury. Under no circumstances should anybody ever bring their pet to these unscrupulous idiots. \r
Do yourself and your pet a favor and bring them to Ansley Animal Clinic. They are right around the corner, and not only do they fix my dogs problem, but they did it for 400% less money than PAPT.
When I moved to Atlanta and knew no one I found a great boarding services, caring and helpfull medical personell and staff, and convenient hours of opperation at PAPT. Highly recomended to all.

When I brought my dog in due to an emergency the staff at ""pets are people too"" were wonderful to us. Everyone from the people at the front desk to the vets were helpful and understanding- they were able to calm me and my dog. Then ran all nessecary tests and gave me my treament options and were upfront with the costs of all options. They even called a few days later to see how my little guy was doing. In the end my dog recovered well and I will always return to and trust this vet.

If you love your pet and it's an emergency, FIND ANOTHER CLINIC! The staff seemed to dislike their jobs and their clients. They showed little empathy toward pets or owners (including the sobbing owners of a pet that died while in the clinic's care). Prices were reasonable, but I wouldn't even bring a pet here for euthanasia.

Although closer than others to our house my family opts to go where everyone cares. The doctors are ok, but the nurses, techs and front desk are just horrible. They show no empathy. n

My dog was a stray puppy that got hit by a car following my other dog . I took him to pets are people too. My wait was about 30 mins which I don't consider to be a long time without an appointment. The facilities are clean and the staff are friendly. The service was professional, caring and reasonable. Everything was broken down to me - what needs to be done immediately and at a later date. Their prices are reasonable considering they are 24 hrs, a little bit more expensive but still comparable.

The staff is always friendly, helpful and concerned. When my dog got into a box of chocolates (chocolate is toxic to dogs), they took care of her and eased my worries. They take appointments or walk-ins and they are open 24 hours. Their fees are reasonable and they don't try to sell you services or products that you don't need. I will continue to bring my dog there!

Clean facilities, friendly staff and great care at a reasonable price. You also have the option to add on whatever extras your pooch may need. Great hours too... dropoff starts at 7:30am & can pickup til late into the evening.

if you ever have an animal with an emergency don't go here because unless you have a HUGE deposit, they will not treat the animal at all, not even to put him to sleep rather than keep him in pain. if a dog is hit by a car & someone takes the him in they'll give the dog to the humane society & the animal will lay there in pain & torture until he dies or his owner is maybe able to track him down before he dies & pays to have something done.

I've heard other people complain about Pets Are People Too at Ansley, but I've had nothing but good experiences bringing my two cats there. Every vet I've seen has been attentive and professional and has given me good advice. The people who work at the front counter are helpful and friendly. I also like the fact that they are open on Saturdays and Sundays--it's always easy to get an appointment. I'll admit my cats don't particularly enjoy the experience, but who likes going to the doctor?
