This used to be the place to hang out with great drink prices and good times, but it has now taken it's course with hit or miss music choices. Although, (Suade) is a band one will enjoy under some good air conditioning. No one wants to pay

went last weekend had 2 shots of patron, my prefered drink, nothing stone cold sober! at coupeland dance hall they shut me off at 3! please don't charge me $8 a shot for nothing! very disapointed!

this was my first time here. I loved it! This is the way Texas "honky-tonks" used to be! From the guy sitting at the door, the friendly staff, the laughter, COLD drinks, excellent music and food, to the patrons all friendly. WOW!

What happened to this place??? We went back a few wks ago after not being there for awhile. The smoke was so strong it almost knocked us over as soon as you walk in the door. Parents are smoking with their kids in there. (I guess no one in Pflug has heard of the dangers of 2nd hand smoke????) It was very run down and dirty. Its a shame for Pflugerville that this place has gone down hill so much.

I have lived int the Pflugerville area for a long time and have seen Hanover's go through many reincarnations. I have also seen many great acts in the past from Bob Schneider, Toni Price, Los Lonely Boys (really!) to Leon Russell. That was several years ago. These days, it's still a great bar, but the acts booked are 3rd rate at best. I wish Hanover's would start booking known bands again and advertise a little. I still love the fact that I can get there and park easily without having to deal with downtown Austin.

On Wednesday night you can relax and listen to very good musicians still honing their skills

...to know who's playing tonight. Hey, here's a thought. How about the owners of Hanover's...one of the oldest pubs around and purveyors of fine music (and darn convenient to where I live), spending a couple of bucks to renew their website so we can see who's playing in this fine establishment? Just a thought.

I never expect that a live music bar can be so much fun. Actually, most people are old customers. Free to talk to friendly people. Bartenders are hospitable too. They do care about their customers whether the customers can drive home safely. Though their live music kind of mixes jazz, blue, heavy, and rock, the band tries hard to bring us most after-work relaxation. Anyway, I highly recommend you to visit this bar once. You will love it.

The bar is great and the prices are competitive. If the only complaint is the poor service from the only male bartender. All the rest of this crew seems to be fun, and happy to serve and fairly prompt. If you enjoy a bar where you could become an appreciated regular, this is it!

If you're looking for great bands w/o wading thru the downtown hassle, then Hanovers is your place. You park WITH the rock stars and get treated to a cosy "dive" not to mention a nice outdoor patio and large garten where opening bands play in the evenings.

Now, beware watching a big band there. In the past few years Hanovers has NEVER staffed well. I have literally waited 15 mins. for a drink and somehow even got served before others in line next to me (so it's not me).

i'm sort of hesitant to right such a good review because I don't want it to turn into what other Austin Club/bar have become in service and attidude.

This is one of the friendliest bar i've been to in Austin for a very long time. If your in north Austin and don't want the drive or attitude of sixth street or the warehouse district, but like to hear good live music of great local performer's go to Hanover's.

If you are looking for some outstanding music, large selection of on tap beer and margaritas to quench your hot summer thirst, then head east on 1825 to the quaint town of Plfugerville. The locals are friendly and quite lucky to have this neighbiorhood venue in their own backyard. The music line up is always phenomenal, karaoke on Thusday nights, ladies night on Wednesdays, no cover, great drink specials. If you are tired of the 6th street scene, head out to Hanover's and enjoy some down home fun and dancing!

After living in Austin for a year, I still can't find a better bar than Hanover's. Great staff, good crowd, tons of beer on tap and very decent BBQ. What more could you ask for? Whether sitting outside chucking 'shoes or shooting pool inside, it's a fine place to be. Even a Sunday afternoon beer is guaranteed to be a good time. Let's just hope the city doesn't have their way with this place. Keep Hanover's alive!!
