This place has fantastic dim sum! The restaurant was totally renovated a few years back so it's very clean. The variety of food is also very good. I think the prices are a little high but it's still affordable.

Great dim sum, sometimes there's a long wait but we haven't found a better place in Atlanta. Know your dim sum or bring someone who does as a lot of the staff isn't knowledgeable about what they're selling.

We love to go to Canton House for dim sum. After about noon, the line gets pretty long. The food is always great and hot. They make great tea. It is always a fun experience to go with friends.

Canton House is the place we go when we want to get Chinese food on Buford Highway. Their dim-sum on Sundays are delicious! Probably one of the best places to go for dim-sum in Atlanta.

The food on their menu is good as well. They have a good range of dishes from the more Americanized dishes to the more traditional Chinese ones. They frequently run a $5 lobster special, and will cook the lobster in whatever way you want (with ginger, with garlic butter sauce, with black bean sauce).

The interior of the restaurant is pretty nice as well. The walls are a nice yellow-gold color and the chandeliers add a nice touch.

My fiance and I were planning on using the Canton House as our Rehearsal Dinner location. The price was great, the venue was great (very elegant with the chandeliers, and we knew the food would be great. Unfortunately they were already booked and we were disappointed. Everything was working through the manager who had great ideas. We are sad we won't be able to use it, but it's our fault for not catching the place in time.

I love it when they have their $5 Lobster special. The dim sum is very good. My fiance enjoys their more traditional Chinese dishes and vegetables.

Whenever her dad is in town, we make sure to go here.

Oh and we really like the red bean soup after dinner :)

Pros: grest food

Cons: expensive for groups

The decor was nice and looked very clean. The dim sum was mediocre with the exception of the fried spring rolls and I don't think I'll be going back.A creepy crawler crawled across my hand as I was eating my broccoli! Gross! I think I'll continue to be a regular at Hong Kong Harbour.

I went to the Canton House for dim sum on Sunday. The place is great for families and they have a good selection of dim sum. Halfway through the chinese broccoli, I found a mealworm. The waitress was nice and took the broccoli off of my check and the manager apologized. I don't think I'll go back.

I usually go to Canton House on Sunday mornings with a group of friends for some hot dimsum. Not too pricey, an ok atmosphere, and good food. I do not recommend the place for everyday Chinese food though. However I do recommend dimsum on weekends.

A coupon from Entertainment book few years ago was our discovery of this restaurant. \nThe manager of restaurant is very friendly. He always checks each table and has a good memory of guests. Found out he is from Vietnam and his parents are from Canton, China. We always have hot/good food and never had any disappointments. Portion is pretty big and their price is lower than many restaurants on Buford highway.

They've recently remodelled and it is now an airy, spacious, almost beautiful set of two large rooms, with windows opening to a stretch of green, sparkling chandeliers, thick linen napery, and comfortable seating. A relaxing, comfortable setting -- except for the noisy, wildly popular weekend Dim Sum, when people are hanging from the rafters -- which is fun in its own right. However, they serve Dim Sum everyday, not as spectacular as the weekends, but pretty darn good. It's all about the food, which is terrific, with a varied menu that goes from unusual delicacies to all the familiar, favorite dishes. The service is so-so, but may be more from communication difficulties than rudeness, and is a minor drawback in light of the rest. This is Chinese food of the highest order, and we are very glad to have found it!\n\n\n

Pros: Great food, Great setting, Choice of teas

Cons: Service can be improv

.

It is certainly not as good as dim sum places in D.C or Vancouver or San Francisco or Singapore but it comes as close as you might get in the Southeast. \n\nThey offer a good variety of Chinese tea and if you know what kind to order, it comes pretty close to what I am used to in Singapore, where I grew up.\n\nIt has a decent variety although most of it have about the same taste. If you don't like seafood, you won't like dim sum. Almost every dish is a shrimp dish. \n\nThey have good spare ribs, custard tart, dumplings. You will need to be there early - right when they open to get the freshest foods.

I won't go so far as to say it is the best Dim Sum, but it is authentic and exactly what you are looking for when in search of Dim Sum. They have plenty of Variety at the Canton House but most of this (as always) taste very close to each other. I strongly recommend the spring rolls. They were some of the best I have had.

I have been around and have eaten Dim Sum in a lot of places including Washington DC, Portland, San Francisco, etc. Canton House holds its own against any of them and is the singular best Dim Sum retaurant in Atlanta. I have beed for dinner too, which is also very good, but you can't beat Dim Sum at 10:30 am on a Saturday (arrive early, or wait in line). It is loud, service is a little rude at times, but this is a Chinese restaurant, so get over it and enjoy the food!
